We VP and Geoff fans just love it when someone discovers them because it reminds us of our first time being blown away by their creative talent. Thanks so much for your enthusiastic reaction. Try VPs Drunken Sailor to experience their comic side or Geoff's Hobbit covers. The more you explore the more you will realise how unique they are.
Excellent, glad to bring you back to that first time!! I am having a blast. Yeah I want to check out the pirate stuff next, and I already recorded the Hobbit covers, will get those up within a week or 2. Thank you so much, more to come.
Layne is a beatboxing beast!! He and Geoff (and less frequently Eli) arranges most of the songs. Their body of work is soooooo big and nothing is sub-par. They get guest performers it nowadays to add a "5th member" for a song (men and women) - it gives them such a great dimensio as a group. Looking forward to more! PS: as a bonus they are wonderful people! ⚘️🕊
I’m so sorry but I have to say that Layne is not the best beatboxer, I have to say he is tied with Adam Rupp from Home Free, another a cappella group that one should go down the rabbit hole. But yes Layne has massive talents. ❤
@@autumnwood543 - I think even Layne would never claim he is the best - but that doesn't mean he isn't amazing 😄. We said "beast" above - not "best". Have a great day!! 🌹🕊
What can we say?- VoicePlay fans are enthusiastic about our boys! They don't get nearly as much attention as they deserve, so we get really excited when someone new sees them for the first time. I personally feel that VoicePlay goes places and takes risks that no other acappella group does, and that daring, creativity, and innovation set them apart from all the others. You're going to have so much fun exploring what they have to offer! While you're going to hear a lot of fantastic suggestions in the comments for videos of theirs, after you've had some fun checking out their produced covers, you really ought to circle back to some of their live performances as well. Particularly Road Trip, which was a feature of their live shows for a long time, and was an original piece that they performed on the Sing Off Tour (VoicePlay were on the show the same season as Home Free- which is how they got to know those guys- and while they didn't win, they did come in 4th). I promise, you've never seen a performance quite like Road Trip! But regardless of where you go next on your VoicePlay journey, you're going to have the best kind of fun along the way!
That's so true and i also LOVE their roadtrip. Always cheers me up when I'm having a bad day😂😂😂. And as mentioned "nothing else matters" and "in the air tonight" are just mindblowing. I also love their villain disney songs. My favorite is "hellfire". Layne arranged this after having so many requests from fans and patreons and Geoff refused to do it cause frollo is too evil. Well, they made him sing lead vocal and he just nailed it🥰. So there is so so much for you to explore. And yes the Geoff /VP community is always willing to guide new reactors on their way deep down into the rabbithole
Thank you so much and It has been a wonderful journey so far!! The fans and support have been incredible. I am glad you brought up live, not that I expect much different from the videos, but I am all for live. Truly makes a group if you were to ask me! Thanks for the suggestion, I would love to check that out!
There is honestly a whole bunch I am excited to hear. I love most of what I saw on their channel so I will content for some time!! This is AWESOME. More to come.
I am a huge fan of VoicePlay & Geoff Castellucci. I have subscribed to see more VoicePlay & Geoff reactions. They are my favorite artist and hope you enjoy the rabbit hole. I know that you have been bombarded with their info & history, so I won't add any more but enjoy...
"My Mother Told Me" is the first song I ever heard from Voiceplay and I feel in love instantly 😂 that stomach-vibrating didgeridoo-ish sound from Geoff sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it!
They recorded My Mother Told Me during the lockdowns and they were spread across the nation. Makes it hit harder that they weren’t in the same studio recording it!
I’ve seen the BTS and they were all in Pattycake Studios to record. They did it individually so they could use the backgrounds Eli made in Unreal Engines. Each costume and background is themed for a different region that had Vikings.
Layne is one of those organic beatboxers that always stun with their talent. Straight drum or just an alien sound. Eli is just a machine. What ever they ask he just does. You couple the glorious sounds with the fact that between them they do everything. They are talented to the max. Glad you stumbled into here.
Their version of Valhalla Calling was praised by the author, Miracle of Sound, who raised them "10 alehorns out of 10" for the most creative cover he had heard. 🙂 As you may have noticed, in "My mother told me" (which was recorded I think at least one year BEFORE Valhalla Calling) they were "featuring Josè Rosario Jr", yet J None was in the video anyway, while Cesar wasn't 🙂. This is because J None was a permanent member of the group when MMTM was recorded, but 2 and a half years ago was recruited by the Navy to sing with them for 5 years... But he performs with the guys every time it's possible (when he's on leave, basically). 🙂 Cesar is officially J None's "replacement", but they work quite well together 🙂. Many of us hope that when J None will be done with the Navy he'll be back as a permanent member of VP, but he's never REALLY left... 😁. Now, a few years ago, at the beginning of the pandemic, Voiceplay recorded a video called "Just sing", in which are featured a LOT of other singers. Captions on, if you watch it: the captions will tell you who's singing AND what their relation with Voiceplay is 🙂. I'd also suggest you to try some of their videos with very different "moods"... "Drunken sailor" is a good one to have a taste of their humour! 😅 See you next time! 🙂
Awesome to know, I mean, who wouldn't praise them for this performance! I just learned about J. None and his service, which is AWESOME! Love learning all about the members and their stories, really puts a lot into perspective! Thank you so much, see ya next time!
@@DaneBramageROCKS Wait 'til you learn that J None sings BASS with the Navy 😇 There's a video by Huldra Draco with the story of all the changes in the group since their beginning (1997)... th-cam.com/video/R6WxCwHnebI/w-d-xo.html
They create a karaoke track for their patrons. For the last year or so that's what they've been playing in their outro. In My Mother, the beatboxer is singing as well as beatboxing. They frequently multi track, especially with the beat boxer. J None was a member from 2018 to 2021 when he left to sing with the US Navy. So, member in My Mother, rapping featured artist in Valhalla. Jose was also with them in Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and in their ridiculous version of Drunken Sailor. And thanx for the double play!!
I like that they have J staring out across the water at the beginning. He’s was recruited by the US Navy and he came back (at least for this). The rap was added with some hints to his being in the military (ops, etc). One of my favorite parts is while he’s rapping, in the background you can hear the guys singing “This is WAR”. It always gives me chills. Layne (beatboxer ) did the arrangement and Eli (bald rock god) the amazing backgrounds using Unreal Engine to provide digital backgrounds. The only real pieces in that set are the tables and benches. Even the door that J walks through was pure CGI. He was standing in front of a screen and Layne was responsible for the creaking door sound. This was filmed, not green screen, but at a studio with immense (Full wall!) LED screens. The makeup and a lot of the costuming is from My Mother Told Me when J was still a permanent member of the group. Among their tattoos are runes spelling out VoicePlay. Cesar is wearing the same robe that Jose wore in My Mother Told Me ( he wasn’t part of the group then - he filled J’s position). MMTM was when we first saw Eli as a beserker. This one was green screen. I think this is the first time Eli used Unreal Engine for the backgrounds. José and Cesar were in high school together and are both in Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean 3. José was a last-minute substitution due to Covid not permitting the original artist to be there. He had already flown home because the Chicago company of Hamilton was closed down. However he doesn’t belt like Eli. So Eli had to record a second time. When you check out your Patreon perks, be sure that you also check out the karaoke tracks. They are gorgeous pieces of music on their own. It’s everything except the lead singer- whoever they have singing at that particular moment. Over the last few years they’ve started using it as the music in their outro.
Yeah I have learned so much about all of this! About J, Eli, unreal, the progressions and recording. My goodness there is SO much info!! Love it. Thank you so much.
Welcome not just to their TH-cam rabbit holes, but to their Patreons, too! Now for fun go watch their Behind The Scenes for Valhalla! (assuming you went for a paid Patreon). The set up will amaze you! Those ‘sets’ were all done by Eli in UnReal Engine - software for game design.
Yeah - all that was physically on set were those tables and benches. Good thing that fire wasn’t real as that studio’s air conditioning was broken and it was over 90 degrees that day. Imagine being near a fire in fur.
Love it when it’s someone’s first reaction to VP 💕 Doesn’t matter which genre is yours they nail it. Eli (said like jelly (ish)). Is master rock artist, Layne is the most amazing percussionist, Geoff you know, Caesar is everything and has fabulous sass x 😁 Every guest artist is amazing and allowed to shine. Can’t wait for more from you 👍👍👍👍
First; thank you for playing through the patreon portion of the video. So few reactors are this considerate. Also thank you for joining their patreons. My Mother Told Me was created after VoicePlay's high tenor left duringthe pandemic; Eli (tenor) created the backdrops. Jose stepped in as the feature artist. J None was a permanent member at that time but left after being recruited by the Navy to sing bass with their group. He frequently comes back to work with the group when he's on break and can fit it into VoicePlay's schedule. Once a person has been VoicePlay-ed, either by working with or being a fan, you're always an honorary member. We'll wait to introduce you to Pattycake Productions after you've had a few moments to breathe. (Each individual member has "side hustles" and Pattycake is Layne and Tony's (former member) baby.
Hey thank you as well!! Yeah I always let teh video roll, sometime there is an outro and other pertinanent informaiton and I do this for the group more than anything! Thanks also for the added info, and uh, yeah, let me get more comfortable with VP and the members before I jump out, LOL. It's hard to keep up at the moment! 😂
Your energy is just what I needed on a Monday morning. Enjoy your trip down the Voiceplay rabbit hole. They cover such a wide variety of genres I'm not sure what to recommend you explore next, but since you enjoy Vikings maybe try some of their pirate stuff next. Hoist the Colors for a serious side or Drunken Sailor for a sample of their silly side.
Layne also has a production company called Pattycake Productions with a former Voiceplay member named Tony. They work closely with Voiceplay but are an amazing company that you'll love ❤️ Thanks for reacting to the best acapella group ever! 😊
Pentatonix is the student council, Voiceplay is the theater kids, Home Free is the guys in the parking lot. Though you can't go wrong with Geoff Castelluci, Home Free is actually my favorite. Another great bass, Tim Foust.
I subscribed as soon as you reacted to and fell in love with Geoff. 😅 Welcome to the best acapella group out there! VoicePlay is so versatile and you will have so much fun on this journey of exploring their music!
Welcome to becoming a lifelong fan of Voiceplay. Check out Hoist of the Colors too! You cannot go wrong with any of their videos and check out their shorts too. ❤
It looks like my fellow Voiceplayas have already supplied you with info and suggestions - we're an enthusiastic bunch, but can you blame us? Look at who we gotta do justice to! - so I'll forego it this time. 😁 Thank you for this wonderful double feature reaction video! Keep up the great work, I'll definitely stick around for more. Thank you for supporting both on Patreon! I became a member (for both) last month too. The extra content by itself is SO worth it, but knowing that this helps the guys to keep doing such unique and amazing covers - often much more than that, remaginations, alternate versions that can stand on their own merit - is the main motivation for me. And last but not least, thank you for your enthusiasm to learn more, take requests, and how promptly you got to work on what's surely a full schedule. (I mean I *have* heard rumors that there are OTHER groups and singers out there that are cool to react to? # notsure) 😉
More info than I can keep up with! LOL. It is all good, I ahve a great base to build on now and have enough knowledge to make it dangerous! I'm stoked for all of this. Thank you for the kind words and encouragement! More to come.
Welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole! They are incredible as always. Another fun version of Valhalla is by a Group called the Bass Gang- 4 basses like Geoff in one group, singing like Vikings? What could be better?
Hi! New subscriber here. Thanks for an inspiring first reaction to VoicePlay! I really appreciate when people get thrilled over VoicePlay’s and/or Geoff’s talent. 😊👍
If you’d like to see some of those hilarious on-stage theatrics, I’d recommend checking out “Road Trip” from the Sing-Off tour. It’s an older video with Geoff, Layne, Earl Elkins Jr. as Tenor 1, Eli as Tenor 2, and Tony Wakim as Baritone. It’s basically a cappella comedy and I love it!
Check out a few of their incredible rock classics - Nothing Else Matters (Metallica), In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins), Creep (Radiohead), Carry On Wayward Son (Kansas), Queen in 5 Minutes, Boy Bands in 5 Minutes. A couple of Live videos from Sing-Off - Road Trip (get the one 9 million plus), Full Chicken song (Scouts Campfire Songs), Survivor: Zombies vs Hillbillies (VoicePlay vs Home Free), Drunken Sailor. You said you wanted some fun ones. J None was a member from 2018 and got recruited by the US Navy for a 5 yr stint (done 3.5 yrs). I have heard that he is going to stay in the Navy for the career but come back fairly often. He's in Wash DC and VP is Orlando, FL.
Yes, typically when I showcase covers, they are typically rocked based but, there are so many outside of that that I would love to hear. All in all, this is going to be a great journey. More to come.
That's so cool you did both! VoicePlay is so much fun and they really don't have a lane to stay in. They just go wherever they please, lol. I love that about them! They've got so much amazing stuff. Everything from videogame songs to Disney to rock. They've done a couple Metallica covers that are excellent! I really enjoyed your reaction to them and I can't wait to see what you check out next! ❤
One of the best ways I have found to really dive in is to do multiple watches at a time. Especially if they are relatable so this worked out well! Thank you so much, more to come.
i discovered VoicePlay through Geoff also. Your delight mirrors mine when I discovered them, only 10 months ago. So much great music, so many hours of fun. Yes, Layne makes all those crazy sounds and more. Apparently he drives around in his car trying to perfect new noises, like actual sleighbells. Yeah. All these artists are awesome. Find any song that calls to you on their channels, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Welcome, Dane!
Such a great reaction! So glad I subbed 😊! I'm here for any and all GC and VP you want to listen too! Just pick any that sounds good to you and you'll have a huge following of Voiceplayers watching 😊😊
To hear another of their original singers, listen to their recent cover of stand by me. Mykal Kilgore joined them, and his voice and vocal presence are extraordinary..... which, naturally makes sense because he left VP for a successful career on Broadway. (liked and subscribed)
Welcome to the VoicePlay universe. Enjoy your ride! Tiny bit of trivia about these two videos: My Mother Told Me was filmed before Valhalla Calling, and before Cesar joined the group. But he and Jose Rosario are old school buddies, and in Valhalla Calling, Cesar is wearing Jose's cloak from MMTM. (Not sure, but I kind of suspect the reason he was fiddling with putting the hood up and down during the rap segment may have been _specifically_ to call fans' attention to that.)
Vahalla Calling is a follow-up to My Mother Told Me and there are TONS of callbacks/Easter eggs in it. Valhalla Calling was inspired by Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and Eivor. Some fun information for you: Eli's name is pronounced EH-lee, not EE-Lie, and Layne's last name is Stine, not Steen. Jose and Cesar went to high school together. J. None used to be part of the group (Cesar took his place). Geoff held that first B0 subharmonic about 15 seconds beneath the verse (he holds it about 12 seconds later on under the rap), as well as singing several A1, F#1, and E1 Subs and chest notes. He said Layne kept pushing him lower and lower, making this the lowest song for him (as of that date). And Eli is throwing incredible D5s and B5s around as if they were nothing! Layne's vocal percussion, including the "breathing" and the creaky door opening are totally on point. The rap lyrics were added, written by Alfredo Austin. You can always find the credits for their videos (and Geoff's) in the descriptions. This was not shot on green screen. It was shot in a volume studio (like the one used for The Mandalorian) with a 155 foot wide, 26 foot tall LED screen, using Eli's Unreal Engine animated set designs. This allows the "set" to track with the camera's movement, making it seem as if the guys are actually on an elaborate film set. The air conditioning at the studio wasn't working, so they were very sweaty Vikings LOL Rick Underwood and Renette Feren did an amazing job recreating the My Mother Told Me makeups for the characters, with some added touches. The runes on Cesar's face and Geoff's arm say VoicePlay. The rune on Eli's forearm and J's face (as it was in My Mother Told Me) is the Norse word rune for music, tónlist. The way it is displayed on J's face is reminiscent of the Assassin's Creed: Valhalla character Sigurd Styrbjornson. Geoff had tónlist on his upper arm for MMTM. Several MMTM costume pieces were repurposed for this shoot. One example: Cesar is wearing the robe José used.
I can't believe how much detail you put into this - my brain is going to explode!! I'm already digging into the rabbit hole! And Yes, I Love Assassins Creed! One of my favs to play. Valhalla I mean.
Welcome to Voiceplay rabbit hole…. You should try nothing else matters, dream on, seven nation army, oggie boogie song…Eli is a God with his rock voice❤❤❤❤❤…
Chronologically, My Mother Told Me was done first, and since you are aware that these guys do pretty much everything themselves, Eli created the backgrounds for the video. He made them in UnReal Engine, yes the video game software. They are beautiful, but even he said at the time that he wished he could have done more with them, made them seem more interactive, like the guys were actually there rather than standing in front of them. Enter Valhalla Calling, and Eli got the chance to do just that. Again, he created the environments in UnReal Engine, but this time they got to partner with Vu Studios in Orlando where Eli's environments could be projected from an LED wall and a special camera used to capture the images. In Valhalla Calling the only real things are the guys themselves, the tables/benches they are sitting on, and a few handheld props. Everything else is generated, and if that weren't enough, Eli also edited the video. Since you mentioned you joined their Patreon, if you're at a tier where you can watch the behind the scenes videos, I highly recommend them.
Wow, this is a whole other level of creation and production!! This truly is like a super group. Incredible. Thanks for the info, Can't wait to see more.
@DaneBramageROCKS they definitely are. Eli also does all the lighting for their videos. Geoff and Layne do most of the arranging, but Eli is starting to do some more of that as well. They create all the sets. The guy that does the arranging is in charge of the video direction. Kathy, Geoff's wife, is his and VoicePlay's production manager and deals with off-site locations, costuming, and props, and keeping everything organized. The arranger does the initial mix of the song and edits the final video. And at the end of the day they also break down sets and do clean up. I'm so excited to see you react to more. 😁
Each singer does have a specific talent, but they can all do pretty much anything, and do it well. All of them have extraordinary vocal ranges, and this facilitates a crucial difference in their arrangements - while some acapella groups toss a song back and forth depending on the range required, VoicePlay's members can follow an individual line wherever necessary, and that enables them to follow the emotion, and break between singers in a way that maintains the song's integrity. (In their cover of The Greatest Showman, each of them - including their featured artist, Rachel Potter - does a quick beatbox riff. No limits.)
Yeah they are incredible. I LOVE it. The more I hear about their diversity, work ffort and delviery, the bigger a fan I become. They are not a "just go with it" group, I can see the work they put and effort to make each song impeccable!!
I really enjoyed your enthusiastic reaction to Voice Play- thanks! The other "Voiceplayers" (fans of Voice Play) will give you quite a bit of info in the comments. All members of VoicePlay and their frequently featured guests have worked as performers at Universal and/or Disney theme parks in Orlando Florida. They started their first quartet called '4theLove' back in the 1990's when they were still in high school and added actor Scott Porter as their beatboxer in 1997 and changed the name of their group to '4-2-Five'. They enjoyed a lot of local success for quite a while under the name '4-2-Five' with different fill in singers that they knew from high school, college, and working together at the theme parks.(high tenor, Mykal Kilgore, left the group to pursue a career on Broadway and Scott Porter, their beatboxer, left the group to pursue an acting career in Hollywood-- both have been very successful). They regrouped with Eli (pronounced like it rhymes with belly) Jacobson and Tony Wakim with Layne doing the beatboxing around 2012 and changed the name of their group to 'VoicePlay' before they went on the 'Sing Off' in 2013. J. None, the guy that did the rapping part in "Valhalla Calling' was a former full time member of Voice Play that left the group to join the Navy. J. None is still active duty military (he sings Bass in the Navy band) but comes back frequently when he is on military leave as a featured guest (many of us still think of J. None as a part time member and hope he comes back full time when he is done with his military service). In the meantime you will see very talented, frequently featured guests fill in that have known and worked with for a long time that we think of as Voice Play's extended family. I really look forward to your continued journey of Voice Play and solo Geoff Castellucci😄
Thank you so much!! This group really brings it out in me, LOL. Also, thanks so much for the info, actually copied this down for reference cause I wont memorize it all. Knowing all this though, really puts a ton more about these indivduals into perspective. Love hearing the back stories and seeing where they are today, and especially cool knowing that J. None is a service member. Freaking awesome. I would think that after he finishes that up, he would return. Cheers, more to come.
Hooray! Been watching for this! Isn't VoicePlay wonderful! "My Mother Told Me" came first in their Viking releases. "Valhalla Calling" was my intro to them, which also led me to Geoff's solo work! They can cover anything...Disney to video game music to rock to classical. In "Valhalla Calling", at three points, Geoff sustains B0s in the background (2nd white key on a full piano keyboard). This was Layne's project/arrangement (beatboxer) since Geoff doesn't do that to himself. Layne and Geoff have been friends and singing together since middle school and are the only two founding members remaining in the group. J. None (did the rap) is a former member, but not an original member, who is still a frequent featured guest. (J is singing bass for the U.S. Navy for a few more years.) Eli spent a decade as a lead singer with a rock band before joining VoicePlay around 2010. Eli also did the computer generated backgrounds and lighting for both videos. (Eli is short for Eliezer, so pronounced Ellie and rhymes with jelly). Geoff and Layne are both tall (Geoff's just under 6 feet and Layne about an inch taller, with even taller hair). Layne is an amazing beatboxer and his vocal range is as vast as Geoff's, using different techniques. You should hear him do sleigh bells in their Chipmunk Song. He also did the creaking door sound in "Valhalla Calling." Layne was originally their baritone and we love it when he sings too. They quit touring and rarely do live performances since the pandemic shutdown when they turned their full attention to studio work and TH-cam. Eli, Layne, and Geoff are all married with young children so enjoy working from home. J. and Cesar are in their mid-30's, so a decade younger than the others. Cesar joined in 2021 and grew up in Puerto Rico. With VP, although they have a Layne 🙂, no one stays in their lane. They are all vocal monsters. You will learn as you explore their catalog. Cesar will surprise you in "Dream On." The outro to their more recent videos is usually a bit of the karaoke version that they release to patrons. Now go listen to "Nothing Else Matters" for a totally different video. That one was Geoff's project. Similarly to the rap in Valhalla, there's a different surprise in that one. Their newest "Party of Your Lifetime" was sponsored by the Warframe developers and you get VP as '90's boy band...another recommendation and an earworm! Definitely will be watching for more reactions to VoicePlay, and Geoff solo. The lovely thing about all of their work is that there isn't a dud out there. It's all stellar.
So lovely to see you keep your word and do more reactions to Geoff and VP, so I suppose I gotta subscribe now too ;) You are gonna have so much fun with both those channels! Can't wait to see it :)
I was to blown away to ignore this and the feeling I got form listening to Geoff just fueled that! Thanks so much for the sub, welcome to the channel! More to come.
The next one I'd suggest is their Party of Your lifetime. It was sponsored by Warframe because of their rendition of "sleeping in the col below." That one is another amazing piece....but who am I kidding all of Voiceplay's music is amazing. XD welcome to the rabbithole I hope you enjoy your stay.
@@DaneBramageROCKS XD ya we, the fans of Voiceplay, love to share as much as we can....sometimes it might cause an overload but we just love finding new reactors who take the time to react to Voiceplay. I can't wait to see more from you.
"When your voice is low enough it makes thing vibrate when you sing, you're a bass. When your voice is so low that you replicate the sound of a Viking war horn, you're Geoff Castellucci."
New subscriber! Great reaction! Voiceplay and Geoff are awesomely brilliant! Now that you’ve heard these two Viking songs, another you should check out with similar vibes is “The Dragonborn Comes” from the Skyrim game. They did it about two or three years ago.
Figured it wouldn't take long for you to land on this one. Did you get chills listening to how long Geoff holds some of those notes? If no one has told you yet, Geoff taught Layne how to beat box and Layne ran with it. 😆
They are so amazing at this it is hard to remember that all the "instrumentals" are done by them. Even the creak of the door was done by the beat boxer, Layne Stein. J None was a member of the group until he joined the military to sing for them. Anytime he can he still comes back to sing with the guys so he is like their honorary member and you will see a lot of videos that feature him. Can't wait to see what else you do. They have amazing covers in all genres from Rock, to video game music. Their cover of I Can't Make You Love Me, originally by Bonnie Raitt makes me cry every time I hear it. You should definitely check out their "Sea Shanty" style songs: Hoist The Colors from Pirates of the Caribbean, Drunken Sailor, and finally Sleeping In the Cold Below which is a space shanty and is in the video game Warframe.
I agree, I could not believe there were no instruments involved. Layne is awesome and only getting better! I also have a good way forward and those sea shanties are part of them, can't wait! More to come.
Yes Layne did and can make those sounds, it’s kinda like the way you hear Geoff and go “did he really make that sound?” Yes!!! Layne is the same. Yes!! Lol
The outro often consists of their Karaoke-versions... you will find them on their Patreon. They are fun because you get to hear what's going on in the background. And that's a LOT!🎉😂❤
I see that you keep getting more likes and new subscribers with this reaction. Someone commented recently that VoicePlay (and Geoff) fans seek out reactions to their work like moths to the flame; that we can't help ourselves. That's true, but instead of getting burned, we bask in the glow of their talent and get to share our love for them with others. Like the guys themselves (and Kathy), this fandom is overwhelmingly welcoming, encouraging, and kind. Enjoy!
I am loving all the positivity in the comments! It truly is a welcoming and kind community and you're right, I can see why people love sharing their love for this group. I am now one of those!!
Yeah, so happy that you're diving into the VP rabbithole ❤ I love that they never do a carbon copy of a song, their arrangements are always so creative and never repetitive (even if the original is a little 😅) and with my ADHD brain I like the entertainment-factor that they bring to the table ❤ Thanks for your reaction 🫶🏻 Cause you mentioned Geoff to be very tall, I thought the same, but he said in a video on his channel that he's "only" 1,81/1,82m (around 6 feet) 😅 Layne is a little bit taller, but Eli and Cesar are not so tall so it seems like Geoff and Layne are giants 😅🤷🏻♀️
As the saying goes, for something completely different - try Road Trip or the Chicken Song. Both were done when they were touring, and you get to see them as young sprouts.
Love that you got to these! This is BY FAR the best Valhalla Calling renditions out there...certainly the most creative! The all filmed and recorded all of My Mother Told Me separately because of Covid then just put it all together in the studio!. Oh, and yeah, Layne is THE most talented beatboxer in the world!!! Nothing he can't do!
@@DaneBramageROCKS Hey Dane! I have a couple suggestions for you, they're some of VP's older stuff and couple older Geoff solos that I think you'll be amazed by. Check out Geoff's High and Dry (radiohead) and Blackbird (Beatles) both show phenomenal range. Then try VP's Black Hole Sun (SUPER cool) and I Can't Make You Love Me...all these give you a sense that there is LITERALLY no style or vocal challenge these guys can't do, and pretty much always better than the originals!!!
I discovered Geoff Castellucci after running across Voice Play's versions of Hoist the Colors & The Dragonborn Comes, which I highly recommend you chk out. Later on, I found VP's "Queen Medley" & was again blown away by their skill & creativity. Then there are their Nightmare Before Christmas covers, too. I've subscribed to their channel & Geoff's channel ever since. Geoff is just not human with those low bass notes. Lol.
Yeah I think a Pirate theme rection is next, then Metallica because it came HIGHLY recommended. Also NBC, but, that will come during the holidays this year!! Can't wait! More to come.
This is so so so so so so so (etc.) *good!* Valhalla Calling was my favorite until their cover of Thriller came out! And My Mother Told Me with the great Jose Rosario Jr, their fellow seafarer and is in most of their sea shantys, but not all. He's adorable though, that little nose scrunch gets me every time! He's also in their cover of Hoist The Colors, which, no joke, I have listened to hundreds of thousands of times. I sleep to it, every night. It soothes me, like being rocked to sleep in their voices! Jose is also in their hilarious cover of What Do We Do With A Drunken Sailor. It reminds me of The Monkees. It's so fun! As you read, VoicePlay has four core members (Cesar took over when J. None joined the Navy and Cesar is in Valhalla Calling but not MMTM), and J. None, the handsome African American in here is now a part time member, as he joined the Navy. Rather, the Navy _asked_ J to sing with them, quite an honor. If you'd like, I can post a set of suggestions I've put together (I jokingly call them "rules") for listening to VoicePlay and some info on the group. (Only of I get a written okay though!) Welcome to the rabbit hole! Oh, and you will see different faces as you go through their years of stuff, some members come and go, and they frequently have fabulous guest singers! For one of their simpler, less theatrical videos, I'd suggest Nothing Else Matters, which has an additional little surprise that hopefully no one will spoil for you ahead of time. There's always at least one person (and face it, we've all done it at least once) who wants to seem smarter and ahead of the pack! But it's an awesome surprise no matter what. Oh, and nice to meet you. I'm known as DravenGal, the weird one, punmistress, and bestower of Dad Jokes (even though I'm female). 😊💙
I'm stoked to hear Thriller, people have mentioned a good deal about it! Same with Nothing Else Matters. So far, I am aware of some quirks, or fun play they throw in, but so far no spoilers!! I now know to pay extra attention and leave the subtitles on! SO, I love this, I'm stoked to see it all, and It is also a pleasure to meet you. Again, welcome to the channel, more to come.
@DaneBramageROCKS I'm grinning, anticipating it! Oh, don't miss their Shorts either! Also, some of their videos are done in a format similar to Shorts, just so you know, like The Wellerman. Also, this isn't really a spoiler but may answer a question that arises. Layne Stein (like the beer glass) is also known as The Carrot Lord, Huldra Draco has a video explaining why, but I'm just telling you it's a VoicePlay in-joke, so you have a little amount of context, it's not random. Well, random but with meaning. Okay. I'm confusing myself now, so I'll leave it at that. I only mention it because a lot of reactors are baffled by it. Prepare yourself for a trip into the VoicePlay Zone! Woohoo! It's gonna be so fun!😁😁😁😁💜
If you want to see the true extent of how phenomenal of a beatboxer Layne is, check out their cover of either “Kidnap the Sandy Claws” Or “Drunken Sailor”. If you want to see ones that have Geoff as the lead and he is especially phenomenal, check out their cover of “Hellfire” “Be Prepared” or “Oogie Boogie’s Song”. These are the ones I would most highly recommend.
Also, If you want to check out the true extent of Geoff’s range, Check out his cover of “I see Fire” from The Hobbit. I know I’m a bit late, but I hope this helped!
lol @ “Geoff is tall”. Well, next to Eli, he is. 😏 Geoff is like 5’10”. I think Layne is an inch taller. Eli is more “fun sized”. I want to say he’s 5’6”, but not sure. J None was a long time member of VoicePlay. He left shortly after the pandemic hit because he joined the Navy. He’s part of the Navel band now, but whenever he’s back home, VP yanks him back into the studio. They’re as tight as brothers, so J isn’t fighting them on it. Valhalla Calling makes me grin every time I see it; I watched the behind the scenes on that. There was the moment when it hit J that he had to lip sync the rap section…the flash of terror…lol! And re: Your question if Layne made that noise on Mother Told Me. Yeah, probably. As a rule of thumb, if it’s a weird noise, Layne is responsible. Also: Eli’s name is not “E-lie”. It’s EL-ee. Pronounce it like “Jelly” without the J. It’s short for Eliezer. And yes, Stein has a long “i” sound.
I had to go look as Huldra Draco has info videos on her channel on each VP member. She says that Geoff is 5' 11.5." Huldra is our official reference librarian! I believe it's correct that Layne is technically about an inch taller than Geoff, but his hairstyle seems to add another two inches to that 😀. Huldra has Eli listed as 5' 5." She also says that Kathy is 4'10.75" so she is the most petite person on set when they are filming except when some of their children are there.
@ I’m remembering one of their Patreon chats where they were discussing it and I swear I remember Layne talking about being only an inch from six foot.
@@Gael4ce Huldra's video on Layne says that he's 6'1" so perhaps he was saying an inch over six foot? I'm pretty sure that I've heard Geoff say that Layne is about an inch taller than he is. Those heights are probably rounded up/down to the nearest half inch.
Great conversation here!! Who knew that would spark such a fun response! I appreciate you all chiming in on that, He does look at least 6 feet tall to me. All in all @Gael4ce - Thanks for the rest of the info. I am loving all the info (Firehose to the face) I am receiving. Thanks also for the pronunciation, I may forget, but I'll try not to! Cheers all. More to come.
@@DaneBramageROCKS It’s a lot, lol. I’ve been a fan of theirs since the end of 2019. I was blessed to catch their last concert before lock down. At some point during this time, my default setting was reprogrammed without my knowledge. I now always read “Eli” as “El- ee” and always have to stop and really think about it if I’m speaking to an e-lie.
My two favorite fan comments from these songs: Eli sounds like he’s worshipping an evil god-Geoff IS the god. From Valhalla Layne: Hey, I really need to add Odin’s war horn in here somewhere Geoff: Hold my mead. From My Mother Told Me. If you really want to hear Layne be the GOAT of beatboxing try Party Of Your Lifetime. And to prove they can do it all, Nothing Else Matters. Thats right-Metallica.
@@DaneBramageROCKS VoicePlay regularly performed "Elvira" live when on The Sing Off tour with Home Free and others. This is audience cell phone footage of them doing it live in 2020 but pretty good quality. There are shenanigans LOL - th-cam.com/video/sYlzZUwpd-0/w-d-xo.html This is back when Earl Elkins Jr. was in the group (another founding member and had been singing with Geoff & Layne since middle school). J None was also a member then. Note: I don't know if you've ever heard Home Free's music video of "Elvira" with the Oak Ridge Boys as guests. If you give Home Free's a listen, notice in the outro when the HF guys are talking that they give Geoff a shout-out for his arrangement. They had listened to VoicePlay sing it when on tour and asked to use his arrangement as a starting point for their version.
The look of sheer entertainment on your face is brilliant! 😂 I’m going to suggest an older one to see a totally different view of their insane range (and introduce you to a former and OG member of the band Earl) - Boybands in 5 mins. Even if you’re not a boy band fan the sheer depth and range of their abilities (🕺🏻👯♂️) makes it a fun one. But literally take your pick from your favourite genre - classic rock, Disney and EVERYTHING in between and just run with it. With a choice of 220 odd videos (don’t miss out on their shorts videos either they include some of my all time faves) and not a bad one in it you’ll be spoiled for choice. You could literally random generate a number and count up to it and pick at complete random and I’m sure you’d love it.
I love this. From all the suggestions, it seems I have to hit the entire library. The passion of the fans has been amazing and I am stoked to be a part of this. Regardless, there will be more, it will be fun, and then there will be more again!
Since you pointed out that everyone in the group has their own strengths, my recommendations for the songs that I think really showcase each of them: Layne - "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica and "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Encanto (For entirely different reasons) Eli (Rhymes with jelly) - "Seven Nation Army" by White Stripes and "Hoist the Colors" from Pirates of the Caribbean Cesar - "Creep" by Radiohead and "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt Geoff - "Hellfire" from Hunchback of Notre Dame and "I See Fire" from The Hobbit (On his solo channel)
As for the chronological aspect of playing the songs, you flipped them the wrong way around. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but, that's why J None is FT. in Valhalla Calling and not in My Mother Told Me. He was still a member of VP in My Mother, and left between the two videos being shot, and when he came back, he became ft. . Cesar is his replacement, he's showing up in Valhalla, along with J. The Guy in the middle, in My Mother, is Jose, the ft. artist in that one, again, since J. was still part of the group then. It's a little complicated at times, specially around CoVid when Earl left. Earl is the bearded guy you see sitting in the center of the red sofa on the picture you put up at 1:34 with his leg crossed. He was the high tenor, and he left in 2020 for personal reasons. One of my favorite videos with him is 'Queen in 5 minutes'. Great reaction, thank you so much for letting the video run to the end, VP and Geoff both have some nice things at the end from time to time, so it never hurts to let it run, aside from the remix versions they come up with as outro tracks.
Tim Foust of Home Free helped Geoff with his lower range. You should check out Home Free. Ubisoft heard their sea Shanty medley and asked them to write one for their upcoming game. Chance, who loves shanties, took the challenge, and wrote Skull and Bones. I think you'd like it. Make sure you watch the official video. It's beautifully filmed. By the way, Home Free, Pentatonix, and Voice Play are the holy trinity of a capella.
Without going through all the comments, it may have been said, but Geoff and Layne do nearly all the arrangements. This was a Layne arrangement. Geoff has two specific arrangements I think are pure masterpieces…Wicked Medley and Nothing Else Matters. NEM got them recognized by the band Chicago and they did a live show together last year.
I love VP and Geoff. And, like so many others, it is so fun for us to watch reactors go down their rabbithole. Next you should check out The Bass Gang and their versions of Valhalla Calling and My Mother Told Me on their recent EP which came out in November - the whole EP is "Viking." (TBG started out as pure acapella, but they have expanded into using some music amd often have a guest artist in their covers - they are a group which came together virtually across the world and turned it into an advantage)
AWESOME to hear! I am loving this journey and will continue, for sure! I ahve also heard a bunch about Bass Gang, so someday I'll bring them over I am sure! Thank you so much. More to come.
@@DaneBramageROCKS They are both ear worms and, of course, wonderful. VoicePlay released "Sleeping in the Cold Below" in Feb. of last year. Very soon afterwards, it came to the Warframe game developers attention and they contacted VoicePlay immediately about a chance to collaborate. The Warframe 1999 update released last month and they sponsored VoicePlay to cover "Party of Your Lifetime" as the in-game boy band On-Lyne and to release it on VP's channel. Fortunately, Warframe allowed VoicePlay to cover it their normal way/process and to film at Pattycake. It was Layne's project. I'm not a gamer, but love all of their covers of songs from video games; well, all their songs really.
You should check out Jonathan young "hoist the colors" heavy metal bass cover(original form features in 3rd pirates of the Caribbean movie) as well as Pentatonix "bohemian rhapsody" cover. The 2nd an accappela group as well. A lot of people loke to compare but i loke them equally as i feel they have their own different styles you just cant compare.....both have great bass singers
Welcome to the Theater Kids of acapella. You can't pick a bad one from Voiceplay. They don't do covers, they do upgrades 😂
Yes, indeed.
Indeed. Thank you so much, More to come!
Yep. Voice Play is awesome with theater, Pentatonix with pop, and Home Free covers the rest. The holy trinity of a capella.
Welcome to the rabbit hole. We’re all mad here❤ their Metallica cover of nothing else matters will blow your mind. You might not be ready yet 😂
I keep hearing about that! Can't wait.
I concur with everything you said!!
Layne is the best beatboxer I've ever heard. Voiceplay is my favorite acapella group ever -- and I've been singing for 60 years.
Yeah and thus far, I am right there with you!! Not the 60 yeas of singing. but everything else! Thank you, more to come.
Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbit hole! Their cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters is unbelievably great!
I have been hearing about that one a great deal!! I'll check it out.
Can't wait to see your reaction to their rendition of Nothing Else Matters. Amazing!
Yeah, I have a TON to see, I'm so excited.
⚘️🕊
Beast it right!!! Thank you so much for watching and the comment and I agree, they seem like amazing people!
@@EtherealForever my inability to read when sleepy sorry. Now Beast that is 💯 true.
@@autumnwood543 😁 - happens to the best of us!!
Miracle of Sound, Gavin Dunne, who wrote Valhalla calling, has given this version of his song a big thumbs up. I think that's awesome.
I agree, that is AWESOME!!
J None WAS part of the group for a while...he went into the service and comes back and does vids with them like this.. he's the rapper..
So I heard, that is AWESOME. Thank you.
I'm digging it, so glad you are here!! Cheers, more to come.
"My Mother Told Me" is the first song I ever heard from Voiceplay and I feel in love instantly 😂 that stomach-vibrating didgeridoo-ish sound from Geoff sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it!
I know the feeling!! Welcome and thanks for watching.
I knew you'd love Eli's rock voice!! ❤ very glad that you're in this rabbit hole, and bringing all of the VP fans over here!!
LOVE IT!! This is already a ton of fun and I love having you all here.
Still, they nailed it!
Layne is one of those organic beatboxers that always stun with their talent. Straight drum or just an alien sound. Eli is just a machine. What ever they ask he just does. You couple the glorious sounds with the fact that between them they do everything. They are talented to the max. Glad you stumbled into here.
Yeah, I came for Geoff and gained a Layne!! LOVE IT> Such a fun group, I can not wait to hear more. Cheers, to be continued.....
Their version of Valhalla Calling was praised by the author, Miracle of Sound, who raised them "10 alehorns out of 10" for the most creative cover he had heard. 🙂
As you may have noticed, in "My mother told me" (which was recorded I think at least one year BEFORE Valhalla Calling) they were "featuring Josè Rosario Jr", yet J None was in the video anyway, while Cesar wasn't 🙂. This is because J None was a permanent member of the group when MMTM was recorded, but 2 and a half years ago was recruited by the Navy to sing with them for 5 years... But he performs with the guys every time it's possible (when he's on leave, basically). 🙂
Cesar is officially J None's "replacement", but they work quite well together 🙂.
See you next time! 🙂
Awesome to know, I mean, who wouldn't praise them for this performance! I just learned about J. None and his service, which is AWESOME! Love learning all about the members and their stories, really puts a lot into perspective! Thank you so much, see ya next time!
@@DaneBramageROCKS Wait 'til you learn that J None sings BASS with the Navy 😇
There's a video by Huldra Draco with the story of all the changes in the group since their beginning (1997)... th-cam.com/video/R6WxCwHnebI/w-d-xo.html
@@DavideBaroni oh snap!! That is convenient. Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching and providing that information!! It has been wonderful learning so much. I appreciate it, more to come.
I’m here for more Voiceplay!! Best group ever!!
I am also here for more VoicePlay, LOL. More to come.
So much to see by Voiceplay, pirate, Disney, viking, Michael Jackson, just about everything
All the things!! I am here for it.
Sooo much good music. Thanks for sharing with us
Thanks for listening
Very excited for you to have discovered Geoff (he is amazing!) and now the phenomenon of VoicePlay. You have hours of awe before you. 😊
Do I ever!! I'm ready. More to come.
I love a good BTS!! And That is awesome to know, I am familiar with UnReal! That's fantastic.
Yeah - all that was physically on set were those tables and benches. Good thing that fire wasn’t real as that studio’s air conditioning was broken and it was over 90 degrees that day. Imagine being near a fire in fur.
@@hwyla4416 Yeah that would not be fun! LOL
Can’t wait for more from you 👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much, this has been amazing and I am stoked to hear more!! To be continued...
And don’t forget their cover of Wellerman! Or their Short of “It’s a Pirate’s Life”
I will, thanks for the recommendations! I love that there is a great handful of songs and I am so excited to continue on! Happy Monday!!
Layne also has a production company called Pattycake Productions with a former Voiceplay member named Tony. They work closely with Voiceplay but are an amazing company that you'll love ❤️ Thanks for reacting to the best acapella group ever! 😊
Oh, that helps eh?! Thank you so much. More to come.
Awesome and thanks for checking this one out as well. I LOVE this already and can't wait for more!! Thank you again.

Welcome to becoming a lifelong fan of Voiceplay. Check out Hoist of the Colors too! You cannot go wrong with any of their videos and check out their shorts too. ❤
Thank you and Excellent! Got a great list moving forward
It looks like my fellow Voiceplayas have already supplied you with info and suggestions - we're an enthusiastic bunch, but can you blame us? Look at who we gotta do justice to! - so I'll forego it this time. 😁
Thank you for this wonderful double feature reaction video!

Thank you so much and welcome to the channel! More to come.
Yeah that has been brought up, I have it saved! I'm excited for it.
My pleasure - really!
He is truly a unique artist, and I love having made this discovery!! This is so much fun. Thank you so much, more to come.
Such a great reaction! So glad I subbed 😊! I'm here for any and all GC and VP you want to listen too! Just pick any that sounds good to you and you'll have a huge following of Voiceplayers watching 😊😊
Thanks for subscribing!! I appreciate your support and feedback, it truly means a lot to me!! I am excited to see what happens!
To hear another of their original singers, listen to their recent cover of stand by me. Mykal Kilgore joined them, and his voice and vocal presence are extraordinary..... which, naturally makes sense because he left VP for a successful career on Broadway. (liked and subscribed)
Thank you so much!! Welcome to the channel, more to come!
Ohhh, those are fun facts!! Love to now the 'behind the scenes details' Thank you so much. More to come.
✔️✔️✔️and✔️! All the things, Im excited. Cheers, more to come.
@@DaneBramageROCKS Layne has commented that he sees each video as an art piece, and it shows.
@@Aurora-cv5to It really does!
Wow, that's incredible! I'm really impressed by all the details and the history of the group. More to come. Thank you! They truly are fascinating.
Oh wow!! OK, my list is growing! LOL. I love it. Thank you so much, more to come.
@@DaneBramageROCKS XD ya we, the fans of Voiceplay, love to share as much as we can....sometimes it might cause an overload but we just love finding new reactors who take the time to react to Voiceplay. I can't wait to see more from you.
@@StrangeRavenStudios Thank you! and Yes, More to come.
"When your voice is low enough it makes thing vibrate when you sing, you're a bass. When your voice is so low that you replicate the sound of a Viking war horn, you're Geoff Castellucci."
BOOM!!
I think you will absolutely love listening to Voiceplay so the Halo Theme. Love your reactions!!!
OHHHH!! Nice, I would. OK, Thank you.
one of Geoff's songs he blast the ablity to belt a Sub Harmonic B0 for so long and J.None is active Navy so hes in some not all videos
Thank you
You need to watch "Hoist the Colors" too; from Pirates of the Caribbean. They're just amazing.
That one is on my list, thanks!!
yaaaaaaaassssssssssss I was waiting for more VP reactions!! Thank you lovely ❤
My pleasure, I LOVE this!! More to come.
Just adding my welcome to the VP Rabbit Hole, too! So glad you've enjoyed it so much.
Thank you so much, yes, and there will be more!
You're rock n roll. You have to check out Voiceplay's"Dream On". Yeah. Aerosmith!
That would be stupendous! I'm in
Commenting to help with the algorithm. Thanks for another great video ❤
You are awesome, thank you!
New subscriber! Great reaction! Voiceplay and Geoff are awesomely brilliant! Now that you’ve heard these two Viking songs, another you should check out with similar vibes is “The Dragonborn Comes” from the Skyrim game. They did it about two or three years ago.
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel. I will totally check that out! Thank you
Figured it wouldn't take long for you to land on this one. Did you get chills listening to how long Geoff holds some of those notes?
If no one has told you yet, Geoff taught Layne how to beat box and Layne ran with it. 😆
Now I'll wait for you to find Dragonborn Comes, Jack's Lament, Oogie Boogie, Hoist the Colors, and their Queen compilation.
Yeah I literally could not wait!! I got so much info that I just had to jump right into it! WORTH IT!! Great info BTW, Thank you.
okie doke, more to come.
To really see some interesting info of past members and collaborators watch "Just Sing" with the captions
oh ok!! Thank you.
So glad you made it to the VoicePlay rabbit hole! I'm subscribing in anticipation of more reactions to them and Geoff.
Well, welcome to the channel!! Thank you so much and yes, more to come!
Yes Layne did and can make those sounds, it’s kinda like the way you hear Geoff and go “did he really make that sound?” Yes!!! Layne is the same. Yes!! Lol
I love it!! Thank you.
The outro often consists of their Karaoke-versions... you will find them on their Patreon. They are fun because you get to hear what's going on in the background. And that's a LOT!🎉😂❤
Oh sweet!! Thank you, I'll take a look.
Next, Hoist the Colors, Seven Nation Army and Stand By Me! All fantastic. Oh, and Drunken Sailor! And Queen in 5 Minutes is a must!
Speaking of all Fantastic, seems like they are ALL fantastic!! I'm here for it.
Yeah, so happy that you're diving into the VP rabbithole ❤
I love that they never do a carbon copy of a song, their arrangements are always so creative and never repetitive (even if the original is a little 😅) and with my ADHD brain I like the entertainment-factor that they bring to the table ❤
Thanks for your reaction 🫶🏻
Cause you mentioned Geoff to be very tall, I thought the same, but he said in a video on his channel that he's "only" 1,81/1,82m (around 6 feet) 😅
Layne is a little bit taller, but Eli and Cesar are not so tall so it seems like Geoff and Layne are giants 😅🤷🏻♀️
Thank you for the comment! I also love their originality of the music and delivery! But yes, that angle of the shot made Geoff look really tall! LOL.
As the saying goes, for something completely different - try Road Trip or the Chicken Song. Both were done when they were touring, and you get to see them as young sprouts.
Totally doing that, Thank you.
Yeah I heard about the separated recording sessions. AWESOME. And yes, Layne is a Beast!!
@@lauriehallcolemandowns7364 Oh, Black hole sun sounds great. Yeah it seems I have a bit to see, more to come.
❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you, more to come.
Try hoist the colors and cant help falling in love!
Excellent, Thank you.
Hi! You said “…Jose Rosario, Jr…that name sounds familiar.” He was in Hamilton, so maybe that’s where you know him from?
Probably. I just feel like I have heard that name before, so that might be it!
I think I am just going to see all the things!! LOL, That should cover it!
J None was a member before going into the Navy. He was replaced by Caesar but he does a lot of features still
I heard, that is AWESOME!!
lol @ “Geoff is tall”.
Love your reaction!!
You are too kind, I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!
I loving watching your reactions to the group!
Thank you so much. More to come!
My two favorite fan comments from these songs:
Eli sounds like he’s worshipping an evil god-Geoff IS the god. From Valhalla
Layne: Hey, I really need to add Odin’s war horn in here somewhere
Geoff: Hold my mead. From My Mother Told Me.
If you really want to hear Layne be the GOAT of beatboxing try Party Of Your Lifetime. And to prove they can do it all, Nothing Else Matters. Thats right-Metallica.
LOL, great comments!! Yeah I am getting a lot of recs for Nothing Else Matters, On it!
Fun double feature!
I totally agree!!
Legend has it Lane was produced in a Yamaha factory somewhere in Japan
HA!!! Thats Awesome
for giggles check out VP stage version of ELVIRA
Oh that sounds fun!
The Dragonborn Comes by VP also a great track (and the cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters already recommended, of course).
Yup!! Love the recs, Thank you.
If you can, try to watch their newest one "Party of Your Lifetime"!
I'm sure I will. I want it all!!
Valhalla Calling is from the Assassins Creed video game. My Mother Told Me is actually an Old Norse chant.
You, and Yup!! Thank you.
The look of sheer entertainment on your face is brilliant! 😂
I’m going to suggest an older one to see a totally different view of their insane range (and introduce you to a former and OG member of the band Earl) - Boybands in 5 mins.
Eli is pronounced like "jelly" but without the "J"...excellent reaction
Ok, Excellent, Thank You.
Since you pointed out that everyone in the group has their own strengths, my recommendations for the songs that I think really showcase each of them:
Layne - "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica and "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Encanto (For entirely different reasons)
Eli (Rhymes with jelly) - "Seven Nation Army" by White Stripes and "Hoist the Colors" from Pirates of the Caribbean
Cesar - "Creep" by Radiohead and "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt
Geoff - "Hellfire" from Hunchback of Notre Dame and "I See Fire" from The Hobbit (On his solo channel)
Oh wow! Yup, all the things, Im here for it!! Thank you. More to come.
Oh that's cool!! Yeah I have heard about Home Free now a few times. Gonna have to check them out. I also think a pirate theme follow up is in order!!
Yes, it has been said a bunch, LOL!! Thank you so much for watching. More to come.
My favorite acapella groups are Home Free and Voiceplay.
Nice, Thanks. I'll have to take a look at Home Free
@DaneBramageROCKS Most usually start Home Free with their covers of Man Of Constant Sorrow then End of the Road
Great reaction. I'd love to see your reaction to the Warframe double - Sleeping in the Cold Below, and their new release Party of Your Lifetime.
OK groovy, I have a lot to get to!! LOL - More to come.
Got those sound issues worked out, I see. Sounds good! 👍👍
Excellent!
Geoff is just under 6 feet Layne is a bit taller ❤
💗💓💗💓
Thank You.
Yeah I am familiar with a handful of accappela groups, Pentatonix being of them. Guess we will see where this rabbit holes leads me!! More to come.
Geoff is 5'11", average north american male hight is 5'9". However his build and keeping in good shape makes him look a tad taller.
