As a Paraguayan I deeply recommend looking other cities before picking Asuncion. Asuncion is great for dinning and shopping but rent/housing awful. Its a lot cheaper just 5min in car outside Asuncion.
@kevinstrong7520 why not: Ñemby is very cheap, but infrastructure is not great. Luque and Fernando de la Mora are glowing very fast, so you will have issues finding reasonable prices in houses/apartments. Capiata is the fartest city them all but everything is very cheap. And straight up avoid San Lorenzo like pleague.

What about the "Multiple Entry" visa? When arriving at the airport you can select "Multiple Entry Visa", pay $160 for US citizens, (differing rates different countries) and you can stay for 10 Years. This seems to be the simplest and easiest to get started from what I've read from the Gobierno de Paraguay website? They even have a PDF link for the application form so you can have it at the ready when you arrive?

I’ve read that Paraguay doesn’t allow double citizenship (in case one is interested in going through naturalization process), how about it ? 2. Is there minimum monthly (or yearly) income requirement once you obtain the temporary (or permanent) residency ? 3. Is permanent residency a lifetime document ? (as some online resources are saying). 1) paraguay allow it only with italy and spain 2) no there is no income requirements now 3) yes the permanent residence is permanent ( unless you decide to leave and renounce ) hope this helps

According to the expert, you only need to be in Paraguay once a year to be a tax resident, even then, it’s not enforced.
