Gocycle, the UK e-bike company founded by a former McLaren car designer, has just introduced an innovative new electric cargo bike for families. The CX Series longtails are lightweight and collapsible as you'd expect from Gocycle, with the CX Plus model's awesome new handlebars that can be quickly adjusted for rider comfort.
Gocycle calls it the Flofit, and it's "probably the most adjustable and comfortable handlebar ever made!" - says company founder and designer Richard Thorpe in a press release. “Adjustable for reach and grip angle, multiple hand positions and of course foldable, this is a game changer for demanding urban cyclists.”
According to Gocycle, the CX weighs just 23 kg (51 lb), which is very light for a cargo e-bike, but it can carry a total weight of up to 220 kg (485 lb), including rider, passenger and cargo. By comparison, the Rad Power RadWagon electric cargo bike does not fold and weighs about 77 pounds with a maximum weight of 350 pounds, but it also features a much larger battery and a more powerful 750-watt motor for much less money. As for the rest of the specs, the frame is made from a mixture of aluminum at the front and carbon fiber at the rear.
