    Liked the video. Pretty informative.
    Just put the wheels straight. Keep tapping on the pitman arm as you tighten the ball joint press and it came off pretty easy. Replaced with Moog replacement end. Didn’t even need to adjust the steering wheel. Steers like a dream now.
    Thanks for the vid.

    Thanks for the video. Have some play in my passenger-side end of the drag link and will be replacing the longer end. Getting the joint out of the steering knuckle should be much easier than the pitman arm! Should be a pretty quick job. Appreciate you sharing your experience.

    I can feel a shimmy in the wheel when it corrects after completing a turn, more pronounced at low speeds. Would this fix it?

    you got rid of the clunck noise when hitting a pot or when off roading?

    • @ItsaJeepWorld
      @ItsaJeepWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Clunk noise could be other things. Ball joints, sway bar links, trackbar bushings or even control arm bushings. This helped the loose steering

  • @WesleyTecson

    We have the same issue on dual stabilizers, it rubs like on the same place. Was it normal? How to fix it?

    • @ItsaJeepWorld
      @ItsaJeepWorld  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you rotate the hold down brackets on the Drag-link sleeve it will give you more clearance. I should have done that during this repair, but I didn't. That should help with rubbing on the stabilizer.

      @@ItsaJeepWorld if the drag link on the passengers end doesn’t have a grease fitting to be maintained or the boot is damaged in any way then the whole drag link should be replaced along with the tie rod end that goes to the pitman arm. So yes It can and should be replaced..
      Take the bolt off the pitman arm side and get the ball joint popped out of the arm. Don’t untwist the tie rod end yet, move on to passenger side of drag link, take the nut off, pound it out of the knuckle, then measure middle to middle of the joints on the drag link for baseline measurements for the new parts. Then take the tie rod end off, after it’s off twist the adjuster off the drag link. Throw away old link/tie rod end. Keep the adjuster and two clamps (if the adjuster is rusted and clapped out then get a new one for 30-40$) Reassemble with new drag link/tie rod end with baseline measurements from old setup and bolt it back to the Pitman arm and knuckle. Re-center the steering wheel afterwards with the adjuster collar if need be.

      I followed this video to try, and my steering wheel is now off center around close to 25 percent. I tried rotating the drag link both ways and one way my wrangler barely turned because it was pretty far backed out but it definitely had enough thread to grab to the drag link. I did it the other way, and it centered with the Jeep turned off and once I went to test drive it is like 90 degrees off. Not sure what more to do to get this right. I replaced the pitarm tie rod and ever since it had been doing this. Not sure if getting it aligned will fix this problem. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

    • @ItsaJeepWorld
      @ItsaJeepWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just because the draglink end is the same as the drivers side tie rod. It’s still the drag link end. So thanks for the comment, you are right and wrong

    8:00 painful. Hit the pitman arm with a hammer and pull down on the tie rod. Done....
    You went 2 more to line it up perfectly? Hmmmm..no.
    You should have put it in the same amount of turns then you should have the Jeep front end off the ground. Then you just turn the passenger side wheel until it goes in.. this way it's lined up straight.
    There's no point in taking it out the same number of turns to put it back in the same place it was if you're just going to "make it fit"...

      The end he replaced wasn't OEM. It's entirely possible the threaded end on the replacement part is slightly different and therefore requires more or less turns. It's nothing that can't be fixed by seeing how the steering wheel is lined up when the job is done, and turning the adjustment sleeve if necessary. If you care to publish a video of you doing the job yourself I'd be more than willing to check it out!

      @@markclaypole1573 feel free to send me a nice heavy duty drag link for a 2014 Wrangler and I'll be more than happy to put it in and show you how it's done.
      As for your comments about OEM, it doesn't matter who makes it. If the vehicle is straight to begin with all you need is the measurement.
      Cavat: that will put you in the ballpark however I would always realistically recommend going to a shop that's going to laser alignment within millimeters.
      I'm sure you know that already and you just felt the need to chirp like a bird but unfortunately you should have kept the chirping to yourself because it doesn't make you look intelligent at all.
