When faced with a steep hill three to four days a week, you tend to wear out brakes quickly. In this video I show you how to change the brake pads on a bike with V-brakes. These are common on most currently available bikes.

Generic pads are an unknown quantity. I tend to stick with name brands for predictability. Like most things I buy, I look at the reviews so I can make an informed decision. Some pads are designed to work better in wet conditions. If you ride in the rain, make sure you buy pads intended for wet conditions.

I've had my best luck with Clarks brand for mountain bikes and Bell brand for vintage road bikes.
