For my bmw with the zf6, I was able to find an aluminum pan on rock auto with a replaceable filter.

😂 no drain plug, because parts department gave you the wrong pan 😂 maybe tomorrow will be a better day 😅

The factory installed pan has the drain plug once you replace it with a new one it’s eliminated. Thats to show if its been tampered with

The fact that you put your screwups on camera makes me want to take my grnadcaravan to you for a full overhaul, with the small issue of I live on Long Island.

You got lucky. If you knew it was plastic why did you think it would be able to hold any weight? Plastic pans for engines and transmissions are horrible ideas.

😅🤣😂 hmmm, that's what makes it a bad idea huh? I'm certain I mentioned that part in the video. But I agree, a plastic pan a bad idea

I think he said he was paying for the pan but I only watched the video once and am only commenting afterwards because so many comments I'm seeing are asinine at best and I'm not sure if I watched the wrong video. Also, is this a Netflix video? Asking for a friend.

Yea they ended up approving the recommended services that was on the estimate. It was time for a trans service anyway. Had they not approved it, I would have had to buy a pan.

plastic pans, not a great idea, just saying..run over something at high speed could do the same thing..where as a steel pan would catch a dent and keep going...it should have a steel plate to protect it at least

In Atlanta they fix the roads by putting large steel plates down. They are supposed to be temporary but are not. I had a customer drive over one and it slipped and popped up and cut a hole in his transmission pan. He didn't know what happened and as the fluid was running out he raced the engine hoping it would go in gear. The transmission was ruined.
Steel transmission pans can be damaged just like an oil pan

@aberobinson1 for everyone else,.plastic pans are a dumb thing...steel would be a better choice
