Dean, what a class guy... He isn't afraid to call Tony a great singer.. IMO, Dean was so secure about himself and his own abilities that he outclassed all around.
Don't forget Frankie. He notably got Dino his recognition, but he did it 4 others as well. I must admit however, IMO, Dino sounds better than all of them.
No need to be insecure when you´re the best in your segment. I don´t think Dean ever tried to compete with Sinatra, Bennett etc. in terms of pure singing. Dean however was the best variety performer, no one else was as good of a singer, comedian and host.
I saw Tony perform live, when he was about 76. At one point, he had them turn off all the mikes and he sang a capella WITHOUT MICROPHONES and we could hear EVERY WORD up in the nosebleeds. Absolutely amazing. He did a segment showcasing brush drums. Easily the most professional performance I've ever seen.
Tony was very nervous about the medley with Dean cause they hadn't rehearsed it of course. Tony, after it was over was very happy and could not get over the fact that Dean hadn't rehearsed it.
I saw Bennett at our company party last week and he sang a song without a microphone...His voice was all over the room......so powerfull....so strong....Ask one of these singers today to sing without a microphone, bet they'll cry.
tony bennett is incredible. the nicest guy to go see. im 34 and i have been listening to this music since i was 22 and i love it. it calms me done and relaxes me. i light up a nice cigar and listen to sinatra, dino, bing and all the crooners. now in today world we have steve tyrell and micheal buble who are great to check them out. great video thanks.. rwb
two legends i got to see tony bennett two weeks ago live at 83 he still can do it its a pitty i am 33 i did not get to see dean martin live but his music is always with me two LEGENDS
Tony Bennett, 50+ years bringing 50 + years of wonderful Jazz recordings to the world, Frank Sinatra said of him in the mid 60s, HE IS THE BEST, and he certainly got that right. Thanks for sharing these wonderful videos with us and giving us all the memories.
Today i had the pleasure of going to Tony Bennett’s concert. I had dreamt of this for soooo long. He is an amazing singer and the last of the great ones left. To think this man sang with Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams. It was truly a pleasure, I can now say that i heard him and saw him LIVE. Thank you Mr. Bennett ❤️.
God I love you !! Your music fills my day Monday thru Friday...I am so glad I found the second time around. Tony Bennett..now I can watch you all the time.
We still have Andy Williams. and a few more. Tony is a very wonderful singer. I love every song he sings. May God Grant Him Many, Many More Years More.
Tony's voice is so warm and sunny, it's amazing! He didn't have a huge range- but he's as good in his eighties as ever, isn't he? And strangely- better looking? Men get all the luck...
You commented this when I was 4/5 years old, Tony was 81/82 - 13 years later Tony is nearly 95 and still touching the world with his great performances
What are you on.The guy had an enormous range.Listen to him sing for once in my life. And when I heard him on 60 minutes from a couple of days ago I cried,He has severe altzheimers at 95 .but when the curtains came up,there he was.The brilliant last of the great singers.
I'm sorry but you're wrong about the range. Tony had Bel Canto training and had an enormous range for a singer not in the opera. Pavarotti himself made reference to Tony's Bel Canto abilities.
Both Martin and Bennett, like all great singers, had not only natural talent but great timing and the ability to put over a song. They just drew the audience in. Pure magnitism. Can't help but like them.
Recently I have started Listening to Tony Bennett and I really have built up a lot of respect for him as a singer and person, I like the duets albums that he has out, though I know he has a lot more material that I have not heard, I cant wait to be charmed.
Tony Bennet is supreme when it comes to doing ballads. He is great, saw him live here in St Paul, he did the usual excellent job. Love ya guy. de Rango8
Tony Bennett....the last of a whole class of entertainer. Saw him in Boston a few years ago. If you get a chance to see him live....jump at the chance.
I had the privilege of recently hearing him live here in the DC area at Wolftrap! What a magical night! I just sat there the whole time with a big silly grin on my face as I listened - what a great singer - still! Such class & style.
I'm surprised by all the superficial people who remark about his looks, then make an afterthought comment about his voice. The man is an incredible talent, period.
I was lucky enough to grow up with these guys, my parents had all their records and I would watch and laugh as they would dance around the living room to their music, now thats romance. I feel sorry for my kids, nothing today on the tube or radio comes close.
I'm just starting to know tony benet, i'm not american, he is new to me... and I think he is really amazing.... even at age 70 or whatever he is now.... he sings with the soul....
LOVE Tony Bennett and Dean Martin is a favorite also. These guys are from an era that just can't be matched today. I adore checking out the old stuff on YOU TUBE!
Wow, this is great thanks for posting it. One of the best singers ever performing in his prime. Sinatra never really moved me but Tony Bennett is superb.
Ive seen tony 15 times live and i love him....but I didnt know until watching this - the power of dean. he is magic and actually pullstony out of his comfort zone....watch again
Dean had something that is missing in a lot of "performers" today, CLASS.

not just class. it's what he believed. Sinatra also believed Bennett was the best of his generation

I saw Tony Bennett in Ostend, Belgium . 20 years ago...
A once in a lifetime event in thios small country
My all time favourite...
I'm Japanese. give up(参りました)...and I like Tony.Wonderfull!!!
Great to see a young Tony Bennett! when I came to know his music he was already middle aged, but his talent hasn't changed through the ages.
I saw Tony Bennett in New York City at a small club in 1948, and it was magical.
Tony is and was the best singer in the biz...He moves me.
Yes, he does. At the top of his game in these years.
Na man, he wasn’t. He still IS.
I saw him do that three times
We miss you Dean !!!
tony Bennett had all the gifts. And a humble heart. Rare stuff.
T.B. sounds terrific.
Tony was very nervous about the medley with Dean cause they hadn't rehearsed it of course. Tony, after it was over was very happy and could not get over the fact that Dean hadn't rehearsed it.
Both these super stars have what I call "Las Vegas Class." They just have that something extra special.
I saw Bennett at our company party last week and he sang a song without a microphone...His voice was all over the room......so powerfull....so strong....Ask one of these singers today to sing without a microphone, bet they'll cry.
Back in the day great singers came out and just started SINGING.Wonderful stuff!
Just saw Tony perform last night (3/17/2011) and at 85 he sounds incredible. The best there is.
When this was filmed in 1968, Tony had already been having hit records for 18 years, since 1950! Amazing...his career is now at the 62 year point!!!
Classics never die. I'm 22 and I love these guys.
Long Live Tony Bennett!!!

Absolutely spectacular !!!
whatever tony sings it's always amazing!!! I never heard a song I didn't like..
and would you believe that when this was on TV in 1968, it was already EIGHTEEN YEARS since Tony's first hit record in 1950!!!! what a career !
THIS IS GOLD!

@@jdrifter8 oh I’m sorry 😢

thank God Dino did his variety show, otherwise we wouldn't of had classic moments like this...
My favorite recording of once in my life by Tony Bennett and anyone else ever
Beautiful 😍
Dean was a great entertainer. Bennet is wonderful, even in his eighties. His verve, timing, phrasing is superb. Sing on Tony.
God I love you !! Your music fills my day Monday thru Friday...I am so glad I found the second time around. Tony Bennett..now I can watch you all the time.
Thanks for keeping this up all these years!!!

Two great singers and performers , no vocal enhancement, no effects, just natural voice and talent.
What a class act!!
Great video. Watching again after Tony passing today. May that man rest in peace. Him and Dino are doing songs up there now!
Sublime singing from Tony Bennett.
