The minimum bike count: 4 Fast bike, comfortable bike, old/retro bike and dirt bike. But the supermoto can be the fast and the dirt bike! The alternative calculation: Number of Bikes Needed=N+1, where N is the number of current bikes. This formula applies to lots of things...
For city roads 700cc motard are better, cause they’re lighter and have smaller frame, but they still reach 210km/h. To be better with a superbike you gotta be on a superbike track, otherwise it’s a no contest. Moreover, straight and large tracks are boring, they’re for faggy boys😂

The best motards are the 700cc for me anyway, they reach 210km/h. Very counterintuitive to see them go around the apex at the same speed with the skinny tire bike more upright. But you and Fortnine were exactly right. Wider tire requires more lean angle.
While my Kawasaki KLR was no super-moto, it's the closest thing to one that I ever owned. That bike surprised the hell out of me on some tight back roads. I would never ride those same roads that way on my CBR1000RR. Hats off to the SM guy and to his bike.
Ive only ever ridden supermoto haha so I guess were kinda opposite. I rode a klr once, would never be able to hit a twisty road on one and have any fun with it :/ supermotos are suuper light. Mine is 80hp and 350 lbs. And all the torque is down low so its a super fun stunt machine, wheelie machine, jump off stuff go hit single track trails, or go hit the track. Supermotos are TONS of fun on go cart tracks with the suuper tight twists
@@Merc399 I set up my KLR as a sport tourer with an 18 inch front wheel and Hiway tires --It is a handling beast--in curvy roads there are few that handle better. Now if it had more power/brakes! But in riding with friends I expect em to zip by--but they rarely do. They say its all they want do to stick with me much less pass. Its fun!
I did have to S1000RR in the shed at the same time having the Husqvarna Nuda 900R. To try & pick one through the twisties was a bloody headache, but a good one!🤭 I moved the S1000RR on a few years ago, but still have the Nuda which I took out only 3 days ago for a nice 240km blast around where I live in regional Australia!🤪🤤💪🏼😈🇦🇺
A fun romp video. Both bikes are a blast to ride. That's why we all need multiple steeds in the stable, no matter what the wife says. ;) Still, anyone familiar with the two bikes know that the the superbike would leave supermoto for dead come the first straight-a-way. However, in the tight twisties, a different story may be told. Bottom line? It's all good.

Supermoto is still a big sport in Europe where it started as an official sport. It was on its way to becoming as popular here in the US until the economy slumped in 2008. The manufacturers had to tighten their belts and supermoto lost most of its sponsorship here in the States. Too bad as it’s a blast to watch

I have some techniques one is called cross arm tuck so when you're hauling ass down the freeway instead of squat arms Take your left-arm put it underneath your right handlebar and hold the throttle on put your elbows on the tank that's cross arm tuck it's awesome going in and out of cross arm tuck haul ass get set up for the corner and then go out of cross arm tuck to regular and then back into cross arm tuck after the corner as fun as f*** also downshifting with the gas on that way you come out of the corner at like eight grand or 10 grand depending on your bike you know little Jack Daniels tonight I would love to ride with you guys if you ever come to Vegas. I used to race road bikes. I grew older and realized that on the track medical was 30 seconds away while on the street it could be 30 minutes. I don't see a need to grab a handful of throttle in the straights but I still have fun in the corners. I loved the Suzuki SV650 until I rode a friend's KTM Supermoto, I love everything about the bike ESPECIALLY the way you can flick about with wild abandon.
I remember a guy called Steve Spray racing a off road bike on a race track in the 250cc open class, in the early 1980’s, boy he was fast on that he flew past me and I’m like WTF is that !!!
How often in real world situation are yOu taking consistently tight ass corners one after another ? In any road setting except those made specifically for super Moto it’s no contest
On a tight track supermotos are fast af. On a bigger circuit the superbike would take the lead. At tracks ive raced at, if its a smaller tighter mor technical track, the fast supermotos are just as fast as a bigger bike
A supermoto makes more sense for me on public roads than a superbike. They never took off in the USA. Maybe it was the tall, narrow seats, tiny fuel tanks & superbike prices. KTM nailed it with the Duke 690 but for the price it competed with the Yamaha MT-09 so it's no longer around. Suzuki still sells their carbureted DR-Z400SM for more money than their SV650 so maybe someone out there likes supermotos.

The S1000RR is a dumb street bike. By the time you are making peak power, you're over the speed limit on the highway, even in first gear.

dude, this bike has way more power, maybe it's a 450cc/500ccm engine, this engine has around 70hp (from KTM idk how the Honda bikes are)
Jakob Traxler ktm states it had 51hp...
Again the weight and riders position and its on a supermoto track put them on a motoGP track and the supermoto would be way behind

The supermoto had a small tire up front to help some of the road handling, but he still did very well with the jumps.

Supermoto and other small lighter bikes aren't as popular in the US because of the lower population density and longer distances to travel.

Supermotos are more fun than sport bikes IMHO.
Riding seems and feel fun riding supermoto. Supermoto is close to practicality for day to day riding and fun without showing off
