I'm wondering if 108 has any mods on his 7300. I've been eyeballing those units but heard that they typically sound horrible on AM. That coming from a friend that has been a CB/HAM operator for many years. Great video GC... 73's........
Most true ham rigs are really designed for FM and especially SSB, and that’s where they really shine honestly, but I wouldn’t say they are too narrow banded to do decent on 11 meters AM mode… Me personally, wouldn’t even have a MARS mod on a 7300. 👋🏻
@@GroundControl204 And I totally agree. The HAM rigs are monsters on SSB without a doubt. Although it would be expensive the best way to go on a modified rig is sending it to the ASYMOD man.
@@PhoenixRising251 Absolutely, great point about Asymod and I agree with that as well. Asymod is a better design than where the creator stole the idea from, I will say that too. 73
