Thank you very much for the most amazing video in this category that I have seen. You have truly outdone everybody who has attempted to make such a video. It is extremely complete and the way you have organized, it is absolutely awesome I really appreciate your time and effort in making this video. I spent a few hours to see how this darn unit works before encountering your video; all the videos I saw (over 20 of them) were insufficient and inadequate in explaining the options this unit offers.

I saw that the buttons (driving wheel and idrive controler) work with that system menus. However, do they work inside applications (for example in Waze)?

Nice video. I have a couple of questions. I’am from Peru. Does this screen is better than the Pemp screen (both sold at Amazon). I use CarPlay (and have an IPhone), not Android. My car is a M235 as well. My second question is which aftermarket camera fits my car and the screen?

Did you change pixel density at all? i.e. from 18 bit to 24 bit in the coding? Should we do that? I upgraded from 6.5” Evo to 8.8” Android Snapdragon unit.
Hey fritz, do we have to insert a phone SIM card for the navigation and all the other apps can work while I drive? If so would I need a sim adapter to insert or just the small SIM card will do? And where do I insert it
Great video... Have had my unit in for nearly a year now... Learnt a bit more through your video. One thing.... If I am listening to Spotify via the head unit and make a phone call using steering wheel controls, after the call has finished is there a quick way to get back to Spotify? Better still continue playing...

Many thnx … specially your advice to connect to the OEM bluetooth rather than using the android screen bluetooth, and to set aux to manual, solved all problems i had with carplay.

Hi Fritz, this video was super helpful and definitely helped me understand what my new system can do - I have an iphone XR and Zlink was pre installed on my android system. Do you know how to set up Zlink? I keep receiving a channel miss match error when i open the app and cannot get the zlink app on the main screen?
Hi. The way I set it up was by using my phone as a mobile hotspot and then when z link opens up connect it wirelessly. However I may have done the initial setup over a wired connection
Hey fritz can you help me I have 2017 M240i with the larger screen but my navigation stopped working . I guess you’d recommend the MMI box but I like that you can have apps on your set up. Do you know know if your screen is compatible or if there’s any?

@@FritzRamos the only issue I am having is the Bluetooth connectivity. And aux in. The sounds doesn’t start playing but the cap play and my phone shows music playing. I have to mess around a few times until I get sound. That was the issue with car Bluetooth too which made me upgrade. 😆

Hi Fritz this explanation was very helpful. I have a F31 with Bluetooth, turned the oem Bluetooth option and I can’t connect carlink. To use AppleCarplay I have to select Android Bluetooth. Do you have a solution? Thanks!

Great video! Just purchased a 2015 m235i with the screen. Why is the Car Info/ services on OEM screen not showing all services needed? Is there something not connected? Help! And I cant set the time either but I think this video went over that. Hope you can hep. Thanks so much!

I was wondering, since my car came from factory when I first purchased the vehicle with the 8.8 wide screen screen, I was wondering if I could update the screen and not have to go through the hassle of going through the the additional wiring and using 10.25 screen as just a screen upgrade? hi Fritz- thanks for doing this video!! I purchased a Kaoson display for my F32. I’m having issues after I installed it. It says no display on my backup factory camera and Zlink doesn’t work. It’s frozen saying waiting and when I try to look up the device to connect the Bluetooth, it doesn’t show up on my phone to pair. Please help if you have any information. @Fritz Ramos great video. A question I have is, if I want to use Android Auto for music and Waze and be able to make and answer calls, what's the recommended setting? Should I use the display Aux for audio? Or it work over USB?
I am looking to get this as a replacement for my display that is delaminating. Is there a way to completely ignore the android stuff altogether or is it pretty intrusive? I just need a new screen but don't want to pay 3k for one.
Great tutorial. If I play audio from my android auto/ apple carplay does the audio comes from aux or bmw Bluetooth. Do I have to select Bluetooth or aux in my idrive?
It could come from either. You just have to select which one you want in the android settings

Hey, I would like to know if this unit has wireless or USB Android Auto Play? Because, I don't want to have hotspot in the car all the time, instead would like to directly use my phone to connect wireless Android auto play in the head unit.

Nice video. I install the same system on my X6 but the reverse camera is not working and when I turn from android screen to BMW screen the letter lines are reflecting

You kind of skimmed over the vehicle details, can you change the kph to mph? Also how do I change the microphone to use my factory radio and not the built in to the screen

What's the benefit of Bimmer coding to trick the system into having 10 ingredients as opposed to the 6in?

Hi, thanks for the many videos. I have installed a 10.25 screen in my BMW 225Xe. If I turn on the radio of the idrive system and then use the navigation Waze in the android system, the radio continues to play but I get no navigation speech from the navigation system. Is that somewhere to set. Thanks in advance!
You'll have to check a few settings.
1) Turn voice on in Waze and ensure the volume is raised (Start with 1/4)
2) The volume controls that don't necessarily control the designated settings I mentioned
3) Aux cable is connected

First of all, nice video! I‘ve changed my small display and bought the big one just like in your video for my bmw f20. But now my clock is not working from the oem system and I can’t set a time. Its just showing „- - : - -„ on the Bord cumputer and on the Screen in oem system aswell... You know a solution for this problem?
Try to reset your unit, please.

i have my android screen since 2018 so its abit outdated. I wanna ask for even the newer versions, does the gps tracker takes a while to connect to get your location? Cause mine is like that since i got it.
The idrive side pops right up, android side takes 5 mins, and android auto is about 30 seconds.

Hi there I installed one of these screen. Only big issue I have is setting time and date. For some reason it doesn't store it on cluster and I get a warning ⚠️ to set time and date. The android part of system has stored date. But not on Idrive. Any help please

Fraizer, i think it will be better connect your phone bluetooth to BMW with better sound. at least that's my case. when i connect phone bluetooth to the head unit, the sound is different and hard to adjust.
So i have to connect the unit to aux port in order to hear waze/apps sounds through the speakers why it doesn’t sound without i mean the unit has so much cables connected to it so why the didn’t make that internally

Hey there again. Only question I have now is yourube related. Video only plays at about 7" whereas TH-cam launches at full screen. Search screen and list stays full screen. But the all videos play at about 7" size.

Hi. Starting a 8:15, Hotspot, how does the Android head unit use my phone Hotspot for internet? Does the Android head unit have a built-in Wireless Network adapter?
I’m on the same boat. Bought an android headunit from a different manufacturer. You have to go into the Android settings, it’s like a tablet, and go in the Network/Internet settings and look for the Hotspot setting. And then select your phones name on the screen. You should have Hotspot enabled on your phone in order for your phone to show up on the Android headunit. I followed these steps but for whatever reason it just wouldn’t connect.

I just got my Android 11 installed to my car. I'm trying to instal an app, when i put the file on my usb and insert to the android usb i just cant find the file on usb section.. on the OEM section i see all the app installed but when i click on USB i cant find my APK file.. do you know how to instal apps ? is there any other way? im i doing it wrong?
The biggest reason I went with the bimmertech Android system was the slow startup and lagginess of all these others. Five minutes would drive me insane.
Ive been looking at the bimmertech ones. I have my eye on the Android Auto one, how does that work? (as in does it connect to your phone and then run google maps from your phone/the MMI ?)
On my F82 when I am on the android side of I press the voice button it still activates the iDrive voice commands. Any idea how to fix that?

Wireless Android auto is not out for 3rd party yet, as far as I know. If you find a work around please update me
I switched from 6,5“ NBT to 10,25“ Android and the upgrade is great. I selected that the headunit should start in OEM mode. Sometimes I have the issue that the display remains black after starting the car. If I press the menu button on the idrive controller the unit switch to android mode and the display works well. After pressing the button again the OEM mode works well. Is this a known issue and has anyone a solution for this?
How do you make it start in iDrive mode? I can’t even get iDrive to come up at all. Just starts straight into android
@@Spiceysecit has to be in the Factory settings. It’s somewhere in the sub menus.

So. I instslled android 10 on my f30 1 year ago. The problem always was that when i using idrive hand to android screen its moving also in bmw idrive screen. When im using idrivehand on bmw screen it dont move in android sceen this is good but when im in android screen then its moving in setting/bluetooth everywhere and its getting messy in bmw screen. HELP ME!!?

android screen on my f22 is connected using aux. the audio quality is very poor and muddy. Is there a way of not using the aux cable for android or any other options to improve the audio? using waze, watching movies and youtube the sound is not good

What is the boot up time for this Android unit once installed and as you mention at the beginning is it 5 minutes each time you start the car?
Mine is still about 5 mins, but I saw someone comment that they have a newer unit and start up is 20 seconds
I got my unit from Amazon and they had two or three different processors chips. I bought the one with the fastest one and my screen starts in about 12 seconds, I got it back in November last year for my 2015 F22
