Same. The straps do flex, but I found this helps with fitting well over a range of boot toe box/cap shapes. Didn't have any issues with toe straps coming off the toe and very responsive.
I've recently bought the party wave plus snowboard - love it. Been wanting some new binds for it though, I'm stuck between these astros and the union stratas though - would love to hear ur take. thanks
Hey James, nice rundown of these bindings. Do you think one of them would be a good choice on a Wayfinder as a dedicated tree board? Never used an asym binding before, so not sure if I'd miss the extra lateral support in trees or not.
Would you consider these to replace your main bindings that you use for board testing? If not what would hold you back I switched from stratas to atlas to these and to me these feel like a much better binding. More comfort more damp and the straps are so comfortable with a lot of response. I set mine up full disk because the reference stance on my boards is 21.5. They feel a little more responsive full disc.
No, but, for one reason only. They are excellent bindings but I need a full size disc to make sure I get close to my preferred stance width with set back inserts. You can use set back inserts with the Astro, but unlike the Union Force (my primary binding now) you can't adjust the stance width. I think I mentioned that in the review.
Are you doing a review on the Bataleon Beyond Metals board? Goliath or Storm or Surfer or Carver? Ty. Your videos are informative. Usually i assume that a brand name comes out with their own niche bindings. I guess not…. I am going to stick with my Nitro Phantom plus and Team Pro for now, but i am waiting to see the 24-25 Union Ultra and Force.
Thanks! I have reviews coming of the Beyond Medals, Goliath, Goliath + and Chameleon. They were going to send more but the boards never arrived. Probably for the best though because it was late spring and many on the list like the Surfer and Storm needed to be tested in pow. You have Exceptional bindings with the Team Pro and Phantom + so no need to change. The Ultra and Force did not change from 2024 to 2025 so my old reviews will still be 100% relevant.

Yeah the Astro Asym is a great fit. You won't miss it and it matches better with the Wayfinder than the full wrap.
