it amazes me to this day that soldiers actually do a dodging animation when defence skill is applied
Agreed on that. And the game is that 20 years old :) Thanks for the comment.
Even the Spartan Hoplites retreated.
Indeed :) Thanks for the comment.
The Poeni infantry surprised me here. Didn't think they'd do that well.
Yea, quite solid infantry. Though, they are t4 :) Thanks for the comment
Quick reminder that Poeni Infantries have 8 Moral, 5 Alt Attack and 18 Defence making them comparable with Hastatie who have 6 Moral, 7 Meele Attack and 14 Defence. Poeni Infantry might even beat hastatie when they fight without phalanx and the hastatie dont throw pilla.
On that note, what is the beast phalanx unit to defend walls with? Against ladders, towers or just meele without phalanx.
He should make a video about best phalanx unit with swords
Armored Hoplites or Sacred Band, oh and Spartans of course ;)
Пунийцы и принципов валят даже 1 лычкой они почти равны этим принципам
Under 6.5 cashed big time someone lost a hundred betting over 6.5😂
Thanks for the comment. Agreed on the Poenies. I would think Spartans or Sacred Bands :)
The morale of the Peoni's was very impressive, not breaking until they were under 20 men.
True :) Thanks for the comment.
Sabia que seria de 3 a 4, o pessoal subestimou Cartago
Thanks for the comment. Yea, the Poenies are rather impressive :)
In rome remastered on medium difficulty the carthaginian sacred band is stronger than spartans due to their armor. When the battle descends to a sword fight the spartans struggle to kill the sacred band
Ah, thanks for the interesting info :)
Can you please hover over your units a bit more often? Just to see how their morale and stamina change over the course of battle
Thanks for the comment. I try to remember that :)
That morale!
Agreed :) Thanks for the comment.
3 almoust got the job done.
Yea, that was quite close :) Thanks for the comment.
This is some niche stuff
Indeed :) Thanks for the comment.
But also tells something about the game overall :)
The answer is 2. 🙃
I guess if they went at the same time, you would be right :) Thanks for the comment.
that was a very respectable showing by the Poeni infantry. I was also surprised at how well they did against legionary cohort as well
Thanks for the comment. Agreed, a really solid infantry. It would be really good, if it were Tier 3 :)
The High Defense, Good Morale, and Good Stamina really helped the Poeni Infantry here, allowed them to fight for a long time even while losing so they would tire and deplete the Spartans more and more leading to them needing only 4 to beat them. Really adds to my point that Poeni are great defensive troops that are underrated because they take a while to get but they are a benchmark for Carthage since they can be made available everywhere without needing a specific temple and only taking 1 turn to recruit unlike Sacred Band.
Thanks for the comment. Valid points. They seem like the backbone of late-game Carthagian armies :)
How many upgrades poeni infantry need to beat spartans.
Thanks for the suggestion. I will add that to To-Do list :)
