kinda sad a lot of people just reduced a lot of these songs to just "sexy." very few actually sounds that sexy and i feel like that is totally ignoring what the song is actually about because a lot of this album the lyrics are sad. 24/7 is one of my favorites and a big reason why is because of the lyrics. the song sounds happy but the lyrics are totally different.

24/7 is a sexy song, but it's sexy in a kinda sad pathetic way. Where you're longing for someone romantically and it's never going to be reciprocated. So you seduce them and get them the only way you can.

Tbh I think you should try and listen to as many EXO songs as you can. Personally EXO is a group were I never get tired of them. Each album have songs that are way different from each other.

Exo never disappoints honestly. They are one of the few kpop groups who in my opinion have consistenly AMAZING b-side tracks (not just the title track)
Theyre called ALBUM KINGS for a reason and sell a million copies with each release. When you wait for an Exo comeback you dont wait for the MV or the Title track you wait for the WHOLE ALBUM and the 2 new songs in the repack.

Gravity left me wigless, the first time I listened to it with my eyes closed while laying in bed and I felt like I time-traveled when I was done listening to it, like... No kidding, that song took me places, I couldn't even analyze it because it hit me so hard on the feels. And I think it's my favorite exo song at the moment, like, based on the type of stuff I like now (I've liked exo for around 5 years now and I feel like I've grown with them sort of... I started listening to them when I was 14 and I'm now 19y/o so... I used to like other songs from them at other times but based on my preferences now, which can change in the future and for sure are not the same as before, I think gravity is my favorite song, that's what I mean with "what I like now").

Oasis is so beautiful. Like you said, it sounds like goodbye but also not in a sad way. It's more like "We're leaving for now. Don't worry though, we'll reunite once again." It makes a great conclusion to the album in my opinion. When they all started singing together, it was beautiful. It just makes me feel at home

If you've heard any Daft Punk, you've heard serious influences of Vaporwave. Gravity could have literally been penned for Tron 2. This song was created by LDN (LonDoN) NOISE, also gives reference right in the beginning to Power, which they also crafted. I am always shocked that no one ever notices.

D.O's vocals on this album are my favorite of all he has done and it's not even on his looks cuz I'm not even physically attracted to him but I will admit his voice just idk I guess just makes me smile and it's so relaxing

I know lots of people will ask you that, but you should REALLY listen to other Exo albums; like, at least for personal knowledge haha, because it's such a loss to not know them! I understand you were not into Exo music, but now that you have listened to a full album, you do understand title tracks is clearly not what make exo-l so into their music. Personally NONE of the title tracks are my fav, even far from it haha. Also some random listening to some songs is not really representative, people should listen to the album overall! I don't think you're gonna like Xoxo album (I LOVE IT SO MUCH THOUGH UGH), but you should definitely give a shot to "the War" and "Universe" (moreover since you liked the title track of the later so much there's no doubt you would fall (hehe, fall) for the album, which is basically on the same mood.) I would like to recommand everything actually, starting from their very first one, or their japanese "countdown" etc, buuut, I think you'll get the motivation if you liked the war and universe as much as this one haha. when i was first listen to the whole album, i was like, wow this song is geeewwd. and then the next song came up, i was like wHat?! why is this so freaking good? like every single freaking song is so lit.

EXO switch up the tempo (ironically) or tone at the bridge. It’s something I’m noticing more and more with their newer songs. They become less predictable and really keep you listening. I’m guilty of skipping songs in the car like you but I know with EXO it’s a build up with the best to come before the mellow it out again. It’s a slow build and then release unlike of like most kpop songs these days. I feel like a lot of songs feel like they have to be catchy from the get go to pull people in. EXO are confident enough in their style in versatility that they don’t feel the need to do this as much? I feel like Gravity would have been a better title track because of this. Tempo gives the catchy chorus almost right away but the bridge changes it up enough to keep it to that same versatile style...anyways! Thank you for giving this a chance.

Gravity has that heavy Daft Punk vibe. Producers of Gravity, LDN, have a "making of" vid for this track that is amazing.
SIGN - It reminds them of MX or NCT LMAO. The song sounds like a Transformer 2.0 and that song was released in 2015. My god how young are these people watching. Like, Machine was released in 2012 ffs.
The reason they can pull of many genres is because they have great vocals with different vocal colors so they can fit into almost any style. Many idols are just trained to sing and there's that 1 token talented singer but EXO has 3 and each of them has a different vocal tone. That's why producers and composers say they love working with EXO.
OASIS - Your description is right on the money. It's the song after the adventure ends but not really. The lyrics says it's actually set after El Dorado. El Dorado is this big epic adventure song about them searching for the Lost City of Gold and desiring the riches within (getting to the top). But in Oasis, they have found the city but when they get there, they realize there's more to the adventure than finding the city, there's more to being at the top, so they keep chasing the sun to find more adventures because there's just not one goal to reach, it's not just El Dorado, it's more than that. So it's not just being at the top, it's about continuing to work hard and finding other avenues to challenge because being at the top doesn't mean it's the end of the road for them. So yeah, you were pretty much spot on.
Anyway, I'm glad you liked my favorite songs Gravity, Smile on My Face and Oasis.

downthispath it's bcuz Sign has really dark vibe, techno-heavy bass that NCT & MX(NCT mostly) used a lot. Transformer has that as well but with less dark & heavy composition than Sign.
I would argue that EXO has 5, if not 6 token singers...I would bet that Suho and Xiumin could be main vocals if they were put into another group. Chanyeol has an amazing voice as well, despite being the rapper of the group. Kai and Sehun are improving immensely, and I actually really like Kai's voice.
Celica technically, only 3 proficient vocalists(ChenBaekSoo). Then there are 2 of them with huge potentials(ChanHo).

The issue here is that Sign is not the first time EXO has done a darker sound with heavy bass. Sign is musically a direct descendant of Transformer because it replicates the sound. These people only saying it sounds like NCT/MX because that's the only thing they know and probably have been in kpop for like 1 minute. Nothing wrong with that, just informing them so they know. I don't even think it sounds like anything NCT in particular aside from the heavy bass. Sign is more vocally heavy and complex which makes it sound so different imo.

chanyeol really does add to the songs greatly. i cant imagine any other rapper rapping in EXO songs. chanyeol's voice just has an EXO vibe, if that makes sense.
