When you pointed out how good Chanyeol and Kyungsoo harmonizing, suddenly memories bring me back to how much both of them want to have a collab and how amazing they sounded, make me wonder if we'll get this kind of bonus in Kyungsoo album. But if that is not the case I'm still super excited for an album full of Kyungsoo incredible vocal and hope for these two collab in the future.

i really think kyungsoo's adlibs contributed a lot of why this album was a hit!
XOXO is still my fave album so far. The songs melt my heart. And I realized maybe it’s because DO’s voice really shines in this album, the adlibs and runs.

Sehun and Kai were around 18 - 19 when they debuted so their voices have changed a lot since then! I’m so proud of them both 😭 Back then Sehun only had a few seconds of lines in the entire album and Kai only had really small parts but look at them both shine now 🥺

I think the first video confused some of Kai’s and Sehun’s parts. And I completely agree with you, Kai has improved A LOT. Honestly I’ve always loved his tone but during 2013-2014 the difference of his vocal abilities and the main vocals’ was to me very obvious. But look where he is now. Sehun, too. He started by barely having lines, to having long full lines in Don’t Fight The Feeling album. However, EXO as a group has always had top notch vocals since debut (at least for the main vocals), esp in idol industry. Up to 2012 I never knew K-Pop idols could sing R&B like that (What is Love is a superior song) and I used to follow practically all male idol groups that debut before 2012 so I guess that’s saying something…
Baby Don’t Cry and Growl were the songs that first got me interested in EXO’s music. And the Open Arms and Baby Don’t Cry performance in Song For You was THAT performance that made me admit I was a fan of theirs. Honestly this album in general wasn’t extremely interesting to me and very poppy for EXO’s standard but it was still the album that got them their 1st million sales so I gotta respect that lol.
Since I love weird chords and funky music some of my top albums are The War and Don’t Mess Up My Tempo but EXO’s albums starting from 2015 was always excellent. Can’t wait for you to react to them!

Kyungsoo can beatbox , there were times where he was beatboxing and Chanyeol was raping on it.
For me these are some evergreen EXO songs and like Present EXO is more musically developed than before but still for me not even today's EXO can cover this Evergreen Album's vibe, these songs are really gold and still amazing after 9 years.
I swear i can't hold my tears when watching you react to this album. This brings me memories when i started to stan em back then in 2011 when they released pre debut song. That time i was 11 years old. When they debut i was 12 yo and now i'm 22! God i feels like it just yesterday they debuted and stanning exo is the best decision i've ever made in my life. This album reminds me of OT12. I swear to god this album was the first journey they made after people called em Trash group in SM back then. Now look at em. They slayed every performances, every song, being titled as nation pick. I'm proud of em. Being stanning exo for 9 years now. I will and forever support exo. I've tried to stan other group but my heart can't handle. I still need exo. I have been through a lot, from saw em performed on the street, huge era of growl, members left before few days of concert, excitement for every comeback, first win, mistreatment for exo in variety shows, SM mistreatment and so much things is going on rn. EXO need us. We need EXO. We are one. EXO. Saranghaja

The producers of BDC also wrote "With Baby Don't Cry, we watched the video first and then wrote the song. Typically a song comes out first and then a dance routine is constructed, but this time I watched a clip of Kai dancing and used that as a background to write the song."

I already saw that a lot answered that Lay, Chanyeol and Kyungsoo can beatbox and that Baekhyun and Chanyeol co-wrote the song lucky, but I didn’t saw any comment that explained why exols love Peter Pan 😅
So, someone gave the song a deeper meaning by saying that Peter Pan are the members and tinkerbell are exols. Some day Peter Pan will find his Wendy and tinkerbell will always stay by Peter pans side even from afar to support them. And I think that’s actually really cute.
As true exols we just want to see all of them find their true private happiness and I like how they interpreted it.
For the Baby don’t cry performances there is this version from kbs that you already mentioned (it’s amazing) and a live version from exo’luXion Seoul.

These songs really brings me back to the good times when EXO is still complete. And they were only complete for this album! Like promoting as 12 in SK. I was lucky enough to stan them when they were still complete, late 2013 (and then gave me my first heartbreak months after stanning them).
This is my fav album until now....just is so wonderful and "Baby Don't cry" make me fall in love to EXO and KyungSoo 😭 always be my fav song ever ❤

This is probably one of my favourite EXO albums and all time albums. The songs have a very fairytale theme and are quite cutesy.

The song XOXO was written by Kyungsoo with Jongin. Kai sounds different because he rapped before and I also suppose that he changed his tone since he was 18 years old at that time, that is, almost 10 years have passed since debut. I recommend you see the MV Mama, History, Growl and Overdose there you can appreciate their rap.

Another clever thing exo has done in heart attack is the structure of the song and how is in such long sentences especially the chorus. The chorus translated to "the world overwhelmed me with the elastic feeling of this heart attack, I like you so much I don't care if I stop breathing" And if you recite this chorus it can be difficult and can be out of breath. From this we can see how much love they are talking about in the song. Not only the chorus but the verses too can be harder to sing goes to show how much they like her they will go out of breathe and possibly die of a heart attack .And heart attack is more mature song in the XOXO album which makes the idea of how they present love in the song.

I tried to stan exo way back 2014 and stopped after a few months but Peter Pan really got stucked in my head. I was kinda sad because if I continued stanning them, I would be like 7-8 years exol now. Back in the 2nd and early 3rd gen era, sm lead singers mostly start the songs, so i feel like DO, though he is a main, they consider him as the lead vocals as well, that's why he always starts the song. The same goes with Seulgi on their earlier songs, same with Seohyun who is a lead vocals.
XOXO album is definitely a special one! So many songs that are perfect to enjoy with fans during concerts. My favorite segment in their concerts really ❤
I want to point out the fact that there is a Black Pearl Rearranged version with the EXO-M members (minut Kris and Luhan I believe). The combination of highnotes from Chen and Baek are just amazing.
All of the song is full of love and so sweet coz XOXO means hugs and kisses if im not mistaken. This is my fav. Album of all time when I was 15 now im 23 it still my fav.
So nostalgic with My Lady because that song turned me into an EXO-L 🥺 from the first glimpse in the first teaser I was like I NEED TO HEAR MORE OF THAT, so I was the HAPPIEST when it was finally released full in XOXO!
When you mentioned if any in exo beatboxes 😂, that's Kyungsoo!! During their first year that's what he showed during promotions. Iirc he beatboxed to a Black Eyed Peas song? and hmmm I don't remember if he started a Two moons performance with beatbox in a festival (or smth like that) or it was just in the same set, but there's definitely a performance with beatbox! (besides the short radio clips and stuff). I'll look for it and add it as a comment! :)
Sorry for the lengthy comment but there's one last thing I would like to suggest: Would you consider reacting to all the pre-debut teasers? The ones that introduced the members one by one. It's not something common to react to but as an EXO-L I think you would enjoy 😄 bc it's like, part of their history, their origin(?). At the moment it was kinda a big deal bc no one ever released so many teasers for that long period of time, but still they're all short so it won't take too long 😅

I like all the songs, but Black Pearl stole my heart the first time I hear it. Maybe it is just me, but it made me feel so emotional. For real, until now ; Cosmic Railway, Paper Cuts, In this World, Black Pearl and Runaway are the songs that made me feel so emotional. 🤷🏻 I don't know why, they just do. 💞
