Interesting how much of the landing is purely automated. Yes, data must be entered and you must be at the proper altitude and speed bug. However, interesting how built in the feature is compared to the 737. On the 37 you have to manually engage Approach mode and the 2nd autopilot to get the computer to do its thing. On the 777 just leave AP on and engage Approach mode and it does it. Cool.

Hey… cheers for watching and commenting appreciated. PMDG have done such an amazing job with both the 737 & 777, they’re a joy to fly. Although typically I don’t use the Autoland, I prefer to hand fly landings. Thanks again 👊✈️

Hi can I ask how you have managed MSFS flying so confidently. I am still very new to MSFS and would like to know where there might be more training available. Very good video too, many thanks.

Hi Nick, thanks for your question. It’s all about practice. Pick an aeroplane that you’re confident with and learn it inside out. I suggest the Fenix A320… it’s got enough depth of systems to be a challenge with a good balance of automation to make it accessible. Check out my tutorials for both the inibuilds & Fenix A320 where I go through a full flight in both planes from cold & dark. Then just keep practicing, it takes a few flights but once you’ve done 10 or so it really does become second nature. Thanks for watching & commenting, appreciated. And good luck 👍✈️

Should be setting 50' RA...if the runway elevation is 348' baro, then you would be about 300' below the ground when you hit your DH of 50' baro.

nice video :). Where did you learn how to fly the 777? I'm new to flight sims and get really confused with all the modes and the lines on nav display, fms and a whole load of other stuff.

Hi thanks for your question… I spent a LONG time learning the 737 & 787 , and once you’ve mastered those most of the systems are transferable. Thanks for watching & commenting, appreciated. It’s all practice, practice, practice 👍✈️

a few channels i recommend: A330 Driver, British Avgeek and 320 Sim Pilot. They have excellent tutorials

Bonjour, est ce que dans ce cas la , les rudders pedals se mettent en marche juste avant le touché de piste ?

Hi Julien… thanks for your question. When you’re performing an Autoland in the 777 you don’t need to do anything with the rudders until you disengage the autopilot. The plane will keep steering down the runway… all you need to do is engage reverse thrust to slow the plane down. Then once you turn off the autopilot you can take control of the rudders and vacate the runway. Hope this helps, thanks for watching appreciated ✈️👍

@@seven3simmer Yes, completely. But what I wanted to say is, is that during the autolàd just before FLARE, the tillbar moves a little to make a correction when there is a slight crosswind? Does he move physically in the cockpit even in autoland ^^?

This is not a good tutorial for using auto landing. Quite a few procedures were not correctly done. For one, you set the minimums for RADIO and ZERO feet. Also, you never allow the speed to fall below Vref. You also REMOVE THE AUTOPILOT BEFORE USING REVERSE THRUST. The actual decision is whether to go to flaps 20 and TOGO to go around or safely use the reverse thrust and align to the center line. There are a few more, but it's good if you do some research.
