    The rear end is a GM "14 bolt". might be able to find one with disc brakes. or buy a dial indicator, torque wrench and pinion/yoke nut socket. Some calibration in the swap is needed. Looks harder than it is.
    4:10 if you don't do much highway speeds.

    Great video. Most of these electric hydraulic pumps use dexron II transmission fluid as their hydraulic fluid. Replacing the bendix clutch on your starter motor is an easy fix...you don't need a rebuilt starter motor. Kind Regards, Craig

      @@TheHomePros6221 I think it would best to drain the fluid and assess it. If there is any evidence of condensation/water w
      then I would change it. Be sure not to top off the tank, (as I have done) and then find the fluid over flowing as the extended hydraulic cylinder collapses while lowering the dump body. Kind Regard. Craig

    GM corporate rear-end. They made ones with two bearing and 3 bearing pinions. Most cab and chassis are 3. They are all so narrower than the pick up dual wheel variety. The two bearing variety would get sloppy and eat the pinion. The 3 bearing Pinon ones are, were popular with truck pulling guys in my area so they were kinda hard to find.

    That's a good buy Darrell! Especially considering it came with a free vice grips! Runs great. I still find it hard to believe how popular gas work trucks are there, we just don't get them here, and probably haven't in any volume since the 60's.

      Hahah thanks Dave!! A free pair of vise grips are always good lol. I’m not to proud of how wasteful we are in the us, I wish we had more 4 or 6 cyl Diesel engines instead of gas guzzling v8s, I’m with Andrew camarata on this subject and think we should have a few simple vehicles that don’t rust out and easy to maintain instead of every year a new peice of junk comes out. We need to simplify things and get back to how things were back in the older days

    do your self a favor and lots of work just replace the ring and pinion gears easy fix, to determine ratio if need to just divide the pinion into the ring gear teeth and that's the ratio.

  • @morgansword
    @morgansword 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Well my comment will be different than the others.... I have the 84 model one ton with a corporate rear end an it was a 4.10 which is fine but mileage sucks.. I took it out and used the whole rear end out of a international one ton and a half... the plus side was it was a electric two speed and positraction. I did have to move the spring mounts a couple inches which is not hard to do an the shocks and all hooked right up. I see rigs like this one sell for fifteen hundred to even twenty five hundred. I do get nervous with all the trash floating around as my grandson got some small gravel or something down mine and busted three pistons in about two seconds so get that cowl and stuff blown off please. I don't guess finish means a lot to you but rust will start under that grim on it so why not at least give it a bath and do it right for just once. My two speed gave me 3.73 on the high side and 4.32 on the low side which will crawl up a tree. We push over six feet of snow with it here in alaska. Mine has a holmes wrecker body on the back of it. I used to have videos of it pushing snow that was over the hood and it was in third gear, shoving snow like nothing. You can just take springs and all off of the international and the only difference then is the front hangers have to be moved about three or more inches ahead.. drill new holes and bolts right under and drive shaft even hooked right up. If I remember right, we used a new joint with one side fit chevy an the other was just one size bigger and it fit the yoke on the international rear end. The springs were heavier and held the enormous loads we put on it. The holmes wrecker bed with wheel lift is quite a load in its own right but mileage was good for a truck at about twelve and times more. After my grandson blew up my engine, I took a twelve valve and its doing phenomenal!!

      @@TheHomePros6221 I was really happy with it... I think the truck I took it out of was a U-haul truck in its former life and it was around 94 or 95 light duty... it was torn up in front and I got the whole truck for five hundred but it still ran also. Find one for just the rear end and who knows.... parts are a lot higher now because of covid.
