You're like Dr Dolittle, all the animals come to you :) . Love that little dog hanging out all the time. I hope this truck eventually helps you grow your business. All you really need is a small skidsteer and a better trailer and you're on your way.
Lots of good repairs. Really satisfying seeing that wire get cleaned up. One thing I would do during oil changes when I worked as a driveability technician and had to do the occasional oil change, after just breaking the oil filter loose, I'd drill a hole in the bottom of the oil filter and let it drain while I checked tire pressures. Then when I unscrewed the filter I didn't have a bunch of oil run down the filter and get all over my hands. Most guys don't care if oil gets on them doing their oil change, but when you're in a shop doing several a day, it's nice to do a extra step to stay a bit cleaner.
So satisfying to see a pile of old wiring on the ground. Great job Darrell 👍. Probably do no harm to fit a battery isolator switch while you're at it for peace of mind.
Thank you so much Dave!! I really miss seeing videos from you but this you tube thing is tough it’s a lot of work and unless your channel is big it’s just not worth it. I was making on average about 220 a month this month it’s saying I should make about 400 bucks, hopefully I can get better and make better videos who knows. Thank you for all the support you have shown me I appreciate you very much! The battery isolator is a very good idea I will do that thanks again!

great job! i have a 72 c50 with hoist, great truck. ordered floor mat from raybeck auto, i see they have a special on mats now. i'm not an electrician, once wired my radio and the radio light came on when i turned headlights on! i told everyone that was was the way it was supposed to be but even i could see some of the sketchy wiring was an accident waiting to happen! like your content and watch all your posts!
suggestion you need to tie up your heater hoses away from the exhaust and at the local pick your part get a vinyl floor from a 2001 to 2006 chev or gm truck instead of carpet easier to clean
What a wiring mess this truck was. But you got it all corrected. Fabulous job. Truck must have been well used. Make sure you don't let that bed drop on you. Looking forward to finding out about the differential and its problems. Thanks for the video's.
@@The_Home_Pros Most definitely man. I know I don't comment enough on you videos, I think I have just about watched them all and i find your work very interesting. The super clean and the rusty oil must be good for the enviroment they most be washed in in the lake instantly. There is no better way genius. Good job!
a suggestion try adding a quart of duralube oil treatment I use it on any of my vech. with over 20k miles & have had good luck . I reallly cleans the internals of the engine .
@@andrewhills6535 well it’s not so much that, I have tons of people that want me to do work for them but Covid messed my heart up so it’s pretty tough some days so I haven’t been working my normal job like I used to 😞
Tip when installing the oil filter. Screw it on until it contacts the base, then turn by hand 1/2 to 3/4 turn by hand only, that's all the gasket needs to seal. The gasket will swell with oil and seal to the engine. I've had filters on so tight that the entire can and filter media would break off, leaving only the steel base of the filter, and that would take a air hammer to break loose and unscrew. First time oil changes on new cars the filter is really on there, I used to joke about king Kong, after the movies he got a job working for g.m, he'd pick up cars off the assembly line and tighten the oil filter then set it down.
I love your videos. You have a great skillset. Are you using standard acid core solder to attach the copper terminals? I use rosin core for electronics but I think acid core is best for copper-copper.( I assume you agree) Second, I couldn't tell the cause of the rear end skipping in an irregularly-irregular way. Could it be a pinion gear missing a tooth, or a pinion bearing causing an eccentric wobble? Can you even see the pinion gear with the cover off? I know nothing about rear differentials except from what I learn on you tube. Kind regards, Craig
Thank you so much for the kind words! I pretty much always use rosin core for all electrical connections to reduce corrosion and use acid core for all plumbing stuff. I always use lead and tin solder for electrical never use that silver bearing crap
I wonder if that truck was a automatic originally. It has a column shifter and the metal mound over the floor shifter is white and obviously the truck is blue.
@@The_Home_Pros you can pull both axles with out jacking up the rear end and......run the rear end in place to see if it still has any skip or binding, just spinning the ring gear without the spyder gears being used. or, leave one axle installed and run it to see if that makes the spyder's slip. either way, a thorough flush wouldn't hurt. btw, the spyder gears sould come out without removing the whole ring gear carrier assemble.
