The fact that the world is unfair made me realize something: There’s no such thing as good or evil. There’s no such thing as a punishment for being bad, or a reward for being good. They’re all just consequences from people based on their beliefs.

there’s a book that talks about this called ‘conversations with God’ that i really love. & yeah i kind of agree - what i see as evil to some ppl (in their world) could be justified. i believe in karma tho so i think whatever you put out comes back to you

As a Mahayana Buddhist, this is what we ultimately believe. Buddhism provisionally says that, based on cause-and-effect, certain actions are "skillful" and "unskillful" for unenlightened beings to do, depending on how much long-term suffering those actions cause. but ultimately, nothing is **inherently** "good" or "evil," because once you transcend beyond the limitations of an unenlightened being, something that you once perceived as "bad" can no longer hurt you, and something you once saw as "good" might end up not really being that "good."
Karma in Buddhism (the "karma") is nothing like the watered-down, pop version of "karma" in the West; Buddhist karma is purely about causes creating effects, not "good vs. evil."
So-called "evil" people can still win in life because, back in their past lives, they planted the seeds for prosperity that sprouted in this life, and so-called "good" people suffer because the seeds of harmful actions they committed in past lives have finally sprouted now. This happens because people can change and become more-or-less skillfull or unskillful from life-to-life; people went through major events that influenced them to drastically change their mindset from life-to-life, and they've been spiraling in that cycle since beginningless time.
Samsara (the wheel of karma that keeps us bound) is just a mess of a place where seemingly unfair things happen all the time, and Enlightenment is supposed to break that bondage.

I use to be obsessed with trying to figure out why people did and treated people how they do and going down that rabbit hole was completely miserable and kept me stuck, I thought learning about human behavior would keep me from being hurt. I use to be an optimistic and trying to figure out people left me a pessimist but I’m not letting the problems of the world keep me from letting me a have a beautiful life.

Me personally, I'm neither an optimist or a pessimist; I'm a positive realist.
I fully accept that there's chaotic evil in the world, but because of my personal beliefs & my spiritualiy, that doesn't stop me from being compassionate or doing good for people, because there can still be beauty in the face of tragedy (and I could get into "rebirth after death" and how that influences my view, but that's another discussion).
Evil can cause pain & it can make me sad, but it isn't the ultimate power in the universe, so it doesn't make me hopeless/nihilistic.

Once I realized that instead of thinking “everything is bad and there is nothing I can do”, I can shift my perspective and there are things I can actually do - in my community and neighborhood (picking up trash, checking in on neighbors, volunteering, donating to food banks, taking care of the garden for animals/pollinators, etc”, my life became more hopeful. We are more in charge of our lives than we think, and change always starts small!

I literally was JUST THINKING this the other day. When I was in college, I'm very grateful that I learned the entire context of history, colonization, slavery across the transatlantic and deepened my understanding of global and international politics. But it created a very cynical mind and a very doomsday approach to life. For the last three years, I've been very intentional about what I'm doing in my life, healing, getting mentors etc. and I'm saying all this to say: yes, when I would blame external circumstances, it was definitely because I felt like I had no control over my life and I needed to control the external parts. Thank you for speaking on this! I've been feeling alone on that thought for a while.

Omg I'm taking this video as the final SIGN. Been going trough the same process since last year. I've realised that we can't be fighting injustice all the time and that does't mean we are unaware of what's going on in the world or that we lack empathy. Sometimes we need breaks from the chaos and also focus on what's within our reach.💕

Unpopular opinion perhaps, but this world is actually beautiful and everything is not "super messed up" and needs fixing. We are all co-creating this reality as we go. We are here to experience, and contrast (negative and positive) is a part of it. There will never be a life with no contrast. There is no perfect solution, because we are here to learn and grow. Negative experiences are part of that, at least in this reality. It wasn't designed to be perfect, and chasing perfection will keep you miserable.

Love this topic! I also at one point had the mindset of not wanting to work hard. Wanting to “live a soft life and have everything I desire” but slowly but surely I had to realize nobody is coming to save me. We’re going to continuously be faced with hurdles, things that unfair to us and the world around us as sad as it is to admit.. seems even insensitive to say, but it’s the cold sad truth. Nobody is going to pave the way. I am the ONLY person who will pave the way and save myself and work hard to create the life I desire. I was expecting to come across somebody who can mentor and guide me to the life I desire. But that is just not the case. I have to be that person. I have to put in the work to gain the knowledge, and put in the effort to become my own success. Having this realization is something that is so crucial if you’re the kind of person who has had that mindset. You’re going to be waiting around forever for things to just magically fall into place. Things do fall into place at times, and align along WITH the work you put in. Again, such a great topic💘

Because there are people in our own cities that need help and volunteering in some way is going to not only help people who need it but it also helps us see real tangible possibility for improvement in the lives of others, which can in turn help boost our hope for the world as a whole evolving into a better place as time goes by.

Thanks for making this video Lynette. Long time subscriber. I resonate with your perspective a lot. My view on this made me lose relationships in my life because I am aware that there are systematic factors that continue to keep certain communities in unprivileged d positions, however, the habits that people follow do in fact contribute to their financial competence.
I know a lot of people in my life (myself included), that are not the best with money, and would rather blame the system for all of their hardships. My guess is that it keeps them from having to take personal accountability. This is not negating the fact that our system is effed up, but two things can be true at once.
I had a friend who continuously complained about how the system is keeping him poor. I said, Child you wake up everyday at 4pm and spend about 3 hours a week looking for a job. I told him that his habits are also factors that will continue to shape your financial capability since you aren't even attempting to change the things that you have control over.
So indeed, the system is a hot mess but so are we for not cultivating empowering habits that can help us alleviate the circumstances that the system puts us under. Thanks again, Lynette!

I've been struggling to find a purpose and just wanting to participate in all of this, it's exhausting simply just existing, especially with this horrible state of the economy where finding a decent paying job with a decent environment is considered a luxury? Yes we have some control over our own life but when it comes to things like this, it is extremely difficult not to be cynical and negative.

I realise now it is not about ‘escape’, finding a way out or ‘beating the system’ as I used to think. It’s about making your every day experience true to your soul. Search deep for what this is and follow this path, you can little by little create the life you crave by aligning each action to your authentic self.
What you do in the morning before work, what you do for work, who you work with, what you do after work. Where you live, who you live with or if you prefer to live alone, do you want a pet around ? Or plants to tend to. What do you consume? Hydration, Nutrition, supplements.
Do you operate best and feel better with or without caffeine/sugar/alcohol/dairy etc.
are you prioritising sleep? If you are great, if not, start tonight. If you struggle to sleep look at why and what you can do to help.
What do you consume from the media? Best thing I do is to not have FB/X/snapchat , just instagram and TH-cam and I choose carefully who I follow and this governs and tailors the content I am exposed to. Which music do you choose? Which books do you read or listen to? What do you study in your spare time… if you don’t study, start today, knowledge is power and you will always have more to learn. The brain fires new pathways with new information and this feels really good.
How do you dress? Dress however feels good for you .. same with your hair colour and style and your skincare, makeup, nails and body care.
Do you hold tension in your body? Where? Pay close attention to this as the body will tell you it is struggling by firing pain signals as an SOS 🆘 for you to make a change to your lifestyle.
Who do you spend time with, do these people make you happy? Inspire you? Help you grow? Make you laugh? Or are they a drain on your energy and you leave feeling negative/flat/low/tired. Make changes if this is the case and do not say yes to people just to be a people pleaser as you are the one dealing with the result of this not them or anyone else.
Be honest, be respectful, be strong, be passionate, be kind and be YOU❤

This is so sad to hear from you. You’ve spoken about manifestation yet you are speaking against the peace we all want. We are the super heroes and using our voices is our weapon. You just aided them 😫 It’s through our hope, voices and unifying our intentions that this change will occur. I claim WE WIN everyday! I hope you’ll hear this and consider reigniting the hero inside of you 💐

I totally agree we all are the heroes!! That’s why I said in the beginning it’s not about losing hope, I just think it’s about recognizing that we have to keep living even when we can’t fix it all!
