Honestly the biggest line here that nobody talks about is when Sniper refers to her using her real name. That's like a deep threat coming from him.
It also shows that he knows more about her than she does him, she refers to him as "William" which isn't his real name so most likely she knows him by an alias only whereas he knows her real name.

Since all the characters from TF2 are _A LEAST_ have a tie with their Overwatch counterparts, AND all of them are from the _past_ (from Overwatch's perspective), then that means that Mercs are a lot more skilled, since they can make up for the lack of fancy gadgets with their knowledge and skill.
Tf2 takes place in around 1968, so technically still the past for our standards aswell
But they also have advanced tech so far into the future that they seem like from centuries sent to the past,hell even past overwatch standards,but still rely on their skills and expertise to kill each other,So their a mixture of natural skill and godlike talent.This just puts some salt in the wound of overwatch.

The TONE of that line was so MENACING, it was perfect.
And it’s right in terms of both game and lore, the game came earlier and in the lore, it takes place before the year overwatch does(I think)

I like how almost every single Overwatch character said in their rap that they are technologically more advanced as a point of why they're better.
They're going into the ring against a more experience opponent. Trying to turn their initial advantage (experience) against them as soon as they can is a solid strategy.
Yeah and it's not like that'd do much anyways, especially around Halloween when the TF2 mercs get access to magic. Hell even sniper technically has a grappling hook because everyone has a grappling hook in TF2 lol

Widow is basically like the TFC Sniper, both have eye enhancements that aide them in the field and have a big hubris about their tech. Sniper relies on skills alone and just takes the shot instead of monologuing.

Sniper's last line brings a lot of perspective to their actual role in the games. A true assassin would know every detail about their target. The fact he knows the Widowmakers real name shows he basically knew his opponent more than they knew him and metaphorically, was crossing her name off the hitlist. Winning line in my opinion.

Something just clicked for me and I love it.
If you listen to the chorus, you can hear Widowmaker's voice really clearly, but there's no sign of Sniper's. It's not clear why until you take the comic into account.

Which sums up the difference between Sniper and Widowmaker quite clearly, really. Sniper's polite, if a bit cheeky or overenthusiastic at times, but Widowmaker is, among other things, a sadistic bitch. And the point is underscored here, where Widowmaker gets to wax poetic about her opponent's funeral and Sniper just... silently lines up a shot, I guess.

Here I go explaining Overwatch lore for TF2 fan again:
Widowmaker was normal human, with emotions and without blue skin, when she married a french guy ( can't remember his name) who was an Overwatch agent. She was one day kidnapped by Talon and brainwashed to feel no emotions ( she has blue skin as a side effect aschemia). They then made it look like she escaped so that she returned home and kill her hustband in his sleep
