Randolph Childress was such a great college player and in this game he was the best player on the floor. I watched this live and knew I was watching something special
Stop, just cuz you don't like nor understand today's game don't mean you gotta disrespect it. This was pure 90s basketball. Low shooting almost all inside play. Move on from the 90s bro
Sheed and duncan had some nba wars..sheed was just as skilled but ..wasnt focal point early in his careers..timmy was da guy from day one..sheed became a go to guy in Portland ..my fave pf of all time..sheed gave KG da business..no lie..
@@johnnier.o.d4746 Spurs def got the nod from the refs. There are officiating breakdowns on it. Ginobli should've been in foul trouble left and right for clear charges that were called blocks. That Shred gaff on the 3 by Horry was a big blunder, though.
Some questionable referee calls like in any game, but the stopping of the game with 3.0 seconds left right when UNC was about to inbound which essentially shows their inbounds play was criminal. Probably the ref still hutt hurt because the assistant coach said something to him when he made a crappy travel call earlier.
I was in middle school watching this. Randolph Childress was amazing and Duncan was burgeoning. Stack house and Wallace were larger than life. Man good times!

I rolled my ankle all The time playing ball in the 90s . I’ve never heard or seen such a wimpy bitchish scene as Sheed rollin round screaming from a rolled ankle. Embarrassing!!
I know Tim Duncan refuse to enter the draft once he saw my Philadelphia pa Sixers had the number one pick He had no good reason to play free basketball in NCAA rather than go pro They said in the pros much like Michael Jeffery from Wilmington NC and Scottie all won by accepting low ball contracts Tim was never highest paid Texas winning chip KG had max deal Jeffery 2.5 million a season 6 years deal in State of Illinois no goat low ball contract with rings
Maybe the most fundamental and composed player you will ever see VS a hothead kid who (in the NBA) never had his temper under control. I would take Duncan over that loud-mouth.
That's one of the dumbest comments I've ever read and I've read a lot of dumb comments! If anything he's underrated! He's easily one of the top 10 best players to ever play the game! You probably shouldn't comment on basketball anymore! 😝

I remember this game well, the star of this game was the guy they didn't mention in the title of the video, Randolph Childress
Jeff McGinnis Remembers Him😂😂😂
Exactly

Well this is a throwback....This is better than today's NBA games! 👍

Nah I think Duncan was more skilled which is a high compliment because sheed was no joke.
They did have some nice battles.. duncan used the glass alittle more...neither could affect the other ones shot
Childress crossing Jeff McGinnis and telling him to get up after he fell is classic. This takes me back to my HS years.
Man I’m getting old…I remember watching this live
This channel understands the assignment.
This two would face again in the 2005 NBA Finals with Tim Duncan prevailing

In the ‘99 Western Conference Finals as well.
Do the one where Rasheed Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse encounter Corliss Williamson
37 greatest points ever scored 🎉

Have this game on vhs tape.
I used to record games too as a kid back in the day. I don't recall recording this game, though.
Need the game earlier from the season in Chapel Hill, when Duncan absolutely schooled Wallace.
Woah! Slow down there big Fella not true
Can’t believe the ref blew the whistle when UNC was trying to inbound the ball with 3 secs to go in overtime.
This game began a career long beatdown on Tim Duncan against Rasheed. Rasheed still salty.
Classic!
RANDOLPH CHILDRESS WAS THE REAL DEAL
Thats the crazy thing about all big college games. The stars dont become stars at the pro level and they are never remembered
i am happy that the aj10s are rereleasing next year.
damn #21 for NC must've had some crabs🦀 how he was scratching right after the tip off 😂😂
Pre-ringworm sheed and fresh legs Duncan.
I just knew Randolph Childress was going to be an NBA Star.....
Guess I was wrong.

Sheed was fundamental tho. He was just slightly more explosive than Duncan so he relied on that early, especially in college.
