    I will say that when I was begging my parents for a Nintendo 64 for Christmas all those years ago, I originally wanted South Park with the system. At the last minute, I changed my mind and went with Diddy Kong Racing instead. One of the best decisions I ever made in my entire life.

    Perhaps my favourite thing about this channel is Joe and Dave's drive to produce original content. So many video game channels just put out the same old rehashed shit. Not so with Game Sack.

    Contra Force was the only contra game we could finish in multiplayer mode which was cool. All due to the bug that when you jump, you could pause and instantly release pause button and character would jump from the spot when it was paused. So we rolled all game being in very top of the screen even through boss fights, like in Kirby. That was fun and easy.

    Blaster Master 2? I've always thought of that as a hidden gem. I've found you really do need to have an arcade stick to do the top-down levels though, otherwise you're stuck awkwardly rotating the turret and firing using only your thumb.

    But... I liked Aero the Acrobat. Unsubscr... lol j/k. The diagonal only attack was pretty annoying, and some stages were a bit too long, but I did love the Fun Park stages though. At the end of this video, I thought Dave was tricking Joe to give up his Sega collection, so he could take it for himself, haha.

    South Park on the N64 is one of the worst games I have ever owned. The official N64 magazine, in the UK, gave it a 9/10 score. It has instilled in me a strong skepticism in any gaming journalism since.

    Why do you say "Western developed" as an insult when a lot of European developers released some great games? Ok I know you're a mainly console show and the Europeans mainly targeted the various "PCs" of the times but they're Western and developed a lot of great games you'd never have got out of Japan or the US at the time.

  • @chriswheatley3146
    @chriswheatley3146 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Blaster Master 2 was a horrid game. I felt like a poor port of a poor Amiga game. It is a shame too because the NES version was a masterpiece.
    With Time Killers, I actually quite enjoyed it in the arcade; although it wasn't the best. The Genesis version felt likey they wanted to prove it was the worst. A beyond bad game.
    Revolution X was another game like how Time Killers was. Not the best; and copyed off of what made T2: The Arcade Game fun. Fun in the arcades; the ports that were beyond an abomination.
    Of this list you gave, Contra Force was the only redeemable one. Yes, it felt very little like the Contra series. But despite all it's quirkyness, it actually was rather fun. I remember me and my neighbor actually spending enough time on a rental of it to beat the game. I can't say that with all games we've played.
    As for the rest, my god are they bad. And let's not even speak of Superman 64; the only game my friend regretted spending $.99 for... lol

      The arcade version although mediocre compared to other shooting games running on Midways same arcade board like T2, had it's qualities, but there highlighting the Genesis version which is incredibly bad..., the attempt to port it to the underpowered Genesis was a complete waste of time that only produced a game that's plain garbage.

  • @metalmat3651
    @metalmat3651 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Revolution X was awesome in the arcade, not so much on the consoles. Both versions suck but the Genesis one is terrible because of the audio, at least you get Aerosmith tunes in the SNES version.

    Part 2 COMPLETELY changed the formula. They got rid of the mission-based gimmick, majorly upgraded animation and the levels were designed to be a standard point-a-to-b formula. They also added a direct down-dive to compliment the diagonal corkscrew. Also, the Genesis version of it is super rare and a collector's item, so at the very least that may interest you. (The SNES version is better, though.)

  • @GameSack
    @GameSack  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Aero the Acro-Bat 2? After I originally rented part 1 I wanted nothing more to do with it so I never tried part 2, no. I don't know about Dave. But a few people are suggesting it's much better. I am afraid to try because part 1 makes me feel quite ill (not exaggerating here). Maybe when I have some courage I will try part 2 for 3 or 4 minutes.

    I’ll be honest, I actually liked Acclaim’s South Park titles. I played them on the PlayStation, but I doubt that that made a world of difference. I was rather young at the time though, so maybe I’m just seeing things through rose-tinted glasses.... it’s funny what can make us like a game!

  • @GameSack
    @GameSack  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Everything is edited on a 1080p timeline. It doesn't matter what the native resolution of the game is or how you watch it, the games will always be the size I make them.

  • @Arkon540
    @Arkon540 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I had Aero the Acrobat on the SNES as a kid and I enjoyed it then. I don't think I would now though. At the time, uninspired, convoluted level design like that was the norm. But besides the level design, every other aspect of the game is acceptable, even the music is fine to me. I would call the game mediocre at worst.

  • @kingactonsim
    @kingactonsim 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I loved the Snes version of Aero the acrobat. The music was really catchy and it still gets stuck in my head to this day. The controls were responsive and required precise skill to make the jumps, find the secrets and complete the goals.
    Also, this game was mercilessly hard with lots of cheap deaths. But thats kinda what i liked about it.
    Il admit that i wouldnt put it in my top 20 but show me someone who can beat it without losing a chunk of lives and throwing the controller around hahahaha

  • @legbert123

    Just to let you know, Dave and Joe, Revolution X was originally released in the arcades in 1994, and was ported to both the SNES and the Genesis a year later in 1995.
    As for proof that it was an arcade game, look at the box art. Here’s what it says on the front cover for both console ports of Revolution X:
    “Based on the #1 arcade smash”

    I really enjoy it when I see them reference a game in an earlier episode in a brief manner. Which they then go more in depth about if it's chosen for a video. I'm sure it's sometimes the other way around and probably not on purpose. But I think it's kind of neat I have a feeling you reuse some of the footage sometimes. It's sort of like their foreshadowing future episodes!

    I have played the shit out of Contra Force, but the Japanese version Super Contra 6, which was more classic and it had Rambo, Bill, Ryu and Gulie. It actually is a great game with cool boss fights, it could be longer however and it has some flaws.. there is a cheat code for unlimited lives and infinite jump glitch where you pause, go back and jump again while in the air.

    How is Contra Force in this list. Totally disagree. It might not be a proper Contra game, but it's nowhere near bad. In fact very few NES shooters provide as much variety and fun, and most games in entire Contra series never got as close to "good" as this one.

    I think Contra Force has a similar problem as Crack Down. The entire game is plagued by slowdown, so when it speeds up it's so jarring that you get your ass handed to you! Though if THAT was the only problem with the game I would be able to deal with it.

    I appreciate that you have not rehashed the usual suspects in these videos , though I for some masochistic reason enjoy Aero the acrobat.

    I like some games people tend to think are crappy. Nickelodeon Guts for SNES, Naughty Bear and the Saw games.
    I really can't stand Dragon Age though but a lot of people seem to like it.

    If you ever do a sequel called Even More Bad Games, might I suggest Blaster Master: Blasting Again for Playstation. 3D Blaster Master, no

    I nearly tapped out laughing during South Park. And when GameSack covered Outrun the Battle Outrun game made me angry. Game Sack videos are a work of art. Game Sack I salute you!

    Who watches these stupid episodes? I do and many others lol i watch yours videos every night after work and on my days off cause this is the best video game channel I’ve discovered since I discovered you tube a long long time ago in a galaxy, well, that most of your viewers live in haha! I am glad I discovered you guys on the super awesome “Video Game years” series! (I hope we get a 90s series cause the 70s and 80s episodes are amazing and there needs to be a series of sequels for each year for so many games and the documentaries were so well produced and entertaining!)
