WALL OF TEXT INCOMING but one of my favorite things about this song is the double meaning!! on the surface it's very sweet, very loving, and obviously Very sexy, its everything you want and it makes you feel good! but then the other side is that, simply put, too much sugar is bad for you (which you already pointed out too) - and that's what's happening with vessel!! the gentle and almost longing "i've DEVELOPED a taste for you now" and his light almost falsetto vocals becoming a much darker and deeper, more aggressive, "i've GOT a taste for you now" like a shark smelling blood in the water while almost threatening his lover? "do you wanna see how far it goes? / do you wanna test me now, my love? / you must be crazy if you think that i will give in so easily" like he's trying to express how obsessed he is and the lengths he's willing to go to to keep them with him. and even BEFORE that it points to that darker meaning!! "my arms keep you in the room / barely let you move" and "let me wrap the chains / addicted to the pain" like he wants to keep them all to himself locked away from everyone and kept his own little secret!! this love he has is entirely unhealthy and only leading to him being hurt in the end but he's addicted to it!! GOD what i wouldnt give to pick his brain because even the most innocuous songs like this have so many layers!!!
