I've lived in Kobe for about a year and half some time ago, and I had one of the best experience of my life so far in terms of food. Besides the Kobe beef, which was too expensive for me, there was the first Russian restaurant that opened in Japan and has history of something like 100 years. There was a China town. Lots of good Indian restaurant. Some of the best Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai restaurants I've ever been to. One of the best Naples style pizza. You will never get tired of food there. And of course lots of cheap and good Japanese restaurants. You can also enjoy a weekend by hiking over the Rokko mountain and taking a dip in an onsen on the other side of the mountain, a nice 5 ~ 6 hour hike. Then you can just hop on to a bus or train and be back to the center of Kobe in half an hour or so. I really miss Kobe....

When I was in Japan we stopped off at Kobe on the Shinkansen and went to a restaurant we heard was pretty good that was in a mall near the station called Wakkoqu. According to the receipt we had an A4.5 cut? Either way it cost 13981 yen after tax for the cut so for both of us together and was still freaking delicious. It introduced me to the experience of steak that melts in your mouth, it was fantastic. Oh and as for konbini ice treat deserts, you've gotta go either for those Mango ice ball cups from Family Mart, or a classic Gari Gari Kun bar.
That kobe beef was amazingly delicious but on the other end, I loved getting the family mart fried chicken in the middle of the night, there was a 24 hour family mart in the condo I stayed at
My work in the US serves A5 kobe. It's the coolest thing. I'm actually shocked that pete didn't mention it "melting in your mouth" like you said, because it basically does. He also didn't mention that the incredible softness comes from massaging the cow. The last thing I think pete should have mentioned on it is that if you are going out to eat real kobe, you can ask to see a certificate. All of the A5 cuts (don't know about lower) are given to the dining establishment with a certificate of authenticity. You can make sure your kobe is legit by viewing the certificate.
My god, what I wouldn't give to live the life Chris has. It's one thing to watch it, but another entirely to quite literally have your full time job being traveling around Japan and having fun.

I second that question. I'm curious about the answer, because I watched a video of Ryotaro-san giving a TED talk in Japanese, and I couldn't believe it was the same person;. he seemed so subdued. Why Aye man! I have been looking forward to Ryotaro joining the trip :) The videos you make are absolutely beautiful and Pete really brought in a lot of random fun
I was in Kobe in spring of 2018 and Kobe beef certainly was one of the best food experiences I ever had. I don't regret a single yen I spent on it. But if you happen to be there, you should also visit the some places there. An example would be the 'Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens' - Maybe the name sounds boring at first but it's a pretty nice place. Great scenery, lots of different plants and architecture and a nice view on the whole area if the weather is nice. It's an interesting place to take photos too. I just had the urge to say this, because it feels like whenever there is a Kobe related video, people only talk about the meat or food in general, which is great and all but there is a bit more to experience in Kobe than that.
I was able to get about 6 oz of A5 Wagyu. What they say about the richness is spot on. You don't really need more than a few bites to be satisfied. After the whole steak I kind of felt like butter myself
Ate Kobe beef once in Japan, in the exact same place as the one in the video and it was truly life-changing. Had to resist the temptation of spending on other things during the whole trip but that dinner was 100% worth it. I will never ever look at beef the same way again.
Hello Mr Broad In Japan, First of all I would like to say how much a fan of your content I am. I would also like to say that I'd imagine you have helped Japanese tourism massively with your videos. I am a vegetarian and I enjoyed this video a lot. And there is nothing wrong with that :P
Seb Emmerson I don’t mean you Vegans/vegetarians as long as you don’t force your views on other people. It means more meat for us meat eaters ;)

Man I want to have Kobe beef also I love how you have kanji on screen as you say the name, please keep doing that very helpful as a Japanese learner
YES Ryataro! cant wait!!!!
O .. M .. G .. I can’t wait for Ryotaro to join the cycle !!!! Woooooo !
Ate Kobe beef once in Japan, in the exact same place as the one in the video and it was truly life-changing. Had to resist the temptation of spending on other things during the whole trip but that dinner was 100% worth it. I will never ever look at beef the same way again.
Could you please share the name of the restaurant? Do you need a reservation for it?
I'm gonna miss seeing you and Pete traveling together. It was...something!
FIANALLY_RYOTORO IS BACK!!!!!!!
Are you planning on spacing these videos out across the entirety of 2019?
You seriously have to stop saying, that you will be back tomorrow ;)
I love the random things Pete comes out with!
Hands down best in the world for sure. No other beef can ever match it’s superior quality and taste! Incomparable.
I love that Pete is wearing a Kobe Beef shirt.
Chris: He's from North Northern UK
The Scottish: Are we a joke to you?
Never met a scot who identifies as being part of the uk xD
Hello Mr Broad In Japan, First of all I would like to say how much a fan of your content I am. I would also like to say that I'd imagine you have helped Japanese tourism massively with your videos. If there is no more videos before Christmas, I'd like to wish you and the rest of the guests a Merry Christmas
I'm watching this after watching the new series. This NEVER gets old.
Happy New Year! May this be a happy and fruitful year.
