The whole "You're ugly when you lie, Dib." was actually just supposed to be a one-liner. Then the voice actor for Zim added in, "Then why are you ugly?" Which of course made that scene so much funnier 😂
"NOT SCIENTIFICALLY POSSIBLE!" That scene will never not make me laugh. This whole movie is a great one last adventure and proper send-off to an amazing show. You can tell Richard Horvitz is having the time of his life voicing Zim.
"YOU'RE UGLY WHEN YOU LIE, DIB!" "I'M NOT LYING!" "THEN WHYYY ARE YOU UGLY?" I love this movie so much. It really captures the same wacko energy as the original show but with a movie budget.
The fact the Tallest only ever fly in a straight line is even funnier because there’s an episode of the original series where Zim hijacks the Massive (their ship) when it’s closer to Earth than ever before, meaning they’d have gotten their eventually, albeit not willingly, if not for him.
10:02-10:09 Trust me, Gaz was not a good sister in the show! The creator actually regrets not showing her kinder side back when it was airing, hence why the difference is night and day in the movie.
Aw man, Invader Zim was responsible for my entire personality when I was in middle school 😂 all of my obsession came rushing back when I saw this movie! Hearing Ruff go “Why wAS THERE BACON IN THE SOAP?!” I immediately yelled out loud “I mAdE IT MYSELF!!”
Dib and his father actually having heartfelt emotional moment (something that NEVER happens in Invader Zim) and you guys just talking about the logistics of a colossal space whale…
Yeah Mini Moose was introduced in episodes that never made it to air due to the series cancellation. He ended up in the Christmas special that was produced out of order and they make a meta reference to him having been there “the whole time”!
You probably don't remember Minimoose because he was added to the series in the very last episode that only saw a DVD release. Only introduction that was given was Zim saying "Minimoose... Oh, he's been here the whole time!"
This movie is gold. I used to be the biggest fan of the show and this movie feels so connected to the show. Even though it was several years after the show ended it is like it came out a year or two after. So happy you reacted to this.
You guys DEFINITELY need to watch the original series. It's so good. You should have ended with the movie cause its technically the ending. Also check out Harvey Birdman: Attourney at Law its really funny
I think the creators said that they planned to reveal that Dib was part alien, before the show got cancelled. And then people theorized that Dib's father was actually one of the Tallest that rules over Zim's race. But since he was taller than the other two Tallest, and they equate height with power, they banished Dib's father to Earth. It would explain why he's the smartest person on Earth, because Zim's race is more advanced than Earth. And would explain why he always ignores Dib's claims about Zim being an alien. He knows full well exactly what Zim is, and he doesn't want his son getting involved. It's like how Gruncle Stan always knew about the weird stuff in Gravity Falls, but always pretended that he didn't in front of Dipper and Mabel so that they would stop getting involved in that stuff.
Dib's dad definitely knows about what happens in space it's scientifically impossible for him not to. Apparently there is a theory that Dib's dad is an alien (irken) and he knows about Zim.
4:50 When you have an insane character voiced by Richard Horvitz, you know that you need to include his iconic crazed laugh. I'm looking at you Kaos! Now all we need is Moxxie to go absolutely insane.
1:19 it was supposed to be released on Nickelodeon but due to the failure rating to The Hey Arnold Jungle Movie they released it on Netflix instead and it got screwed very badly and the same thing as Rockos Modern Life Movie too
@@CrowTRobot I dunno man, I dunno. It’s great on its own (aside from the mythology phase which was out of place), has some references to the show, but didn’t really feel like Hey Arnold… At least in my opinion…

The show ping-pongs between making some sense and making no sense in pretty much every episode! It runs on its own logic! And I feel that it really helped shape internet humor especially within silly animation communities and online creators and artists, both within the ZIM fandom and outside of it! And I’m honestly proud to admit that IZ was the main thing that got me into animation and inspired me to learn and make my own cartoons! My Little Pony, Roger Rabbit (as well as many other cartoon/live action movies), and WALL-E, as well as LEGO WALL-E stop motion, and many more have inspired me as well, (before IZ, alongside IZ, and even recently) but ZIM was what really, and I mean really inspired me to become an animator!
This is child hood show and Zims voice so perfect I can hear both poxy and crimsons voice I also like how squidward voice actor Roger voices dibs dad!. Also yes purple tallest is Jason McDonald. :)
I keep thinking Danny Devito is the Billy that says 'we launched a gaming channel' in the mid-roll Sorta Stupid ad. I don't know that Billy's government name cause I don't watch the gaming channel or do any of the things the ad tells me to. I'm a baaaaad Billy.
Unfortunately, one of Zim' inventions goes wrong in the year 2038 and he ends up dying and getting sent to Earth's HFIL. Ends up reborn into a demon mob family or something.
9:24 I mean, he was one of their most… enthusiastic invaders? During “Impending Doom I” he was given control of a war mech piloted by an entire crew of elite engineers, one which would’ve been deployed from one of their larger vessels, but in his over excited nature he deployed it on their own home planet and destroyed part of their capital. Had he actually gotten to his assigned planet with his team, yeah, probably would be one of their best invaders for eradication campaigns, rather than subjugation campaigns.
The VA for Zim and Moxie is also the voice of Dagget from the 90's Nickelodeon show "Angry Beaver" and the Universe 4 Doctor who fought in the Tournament of Power in "Dragon Ball Super."
I'd absolutely love it if you guys reacted to the whole show! ^^ (btw the movie doesn't quite manage to capture/get across just how batshit scary Gaz can be if you cross her if you ask me, but it did give us some really amazing Professor Membrane moments!! :D)

Agreed. The proper conclusion we've all been waiting for.
The fact he himself broke the speed of sound to say that is perfect.

I constantly think of that part still lmao

"Happy Platypus one and all."
"My name is Dib Membrane, I am twelve years old!" We're off to a great start, I love this movie.

Dib waited 17 years for Zim to show his face again.
Clearly the most diligent 12 year old on Earth.
Richard Horvitz being recognized as the Helluva Boss character first and not one of his many other roles makes me feel old.
I know him as Alpha 5 and Zim
On TikTok the “Then why are you ugly?!” line became a popular sound and a lot of younger ppl thought it was from Helluva Boss 😭
He is also voice director in Helluva boss and Hazbin Hotel
I know him as orthopox 13 from destroy all humans
Yeah, I can feel myself ageing in real time when I remember I first heard him as Dag in The Angry Beavers
Dib’s dad is voiced by the same guy who does Squidward, I just want you guys to know that.
Shaka, my mind blown.
