So I think I’m finally making the switch to Taramps, thinking of getting the TS 1200x4 for my 4 Sylvester’s. I currently have a Hifonics 1200x4 but I know it doesn’t produce true power. Do you think that would be enough, also would the TS or DS be better?
It depends on a lot of factors. One is your real world current draw. That's based on the volume you listen at, your impedance rise, enclosure design and type of music you listen to. Do you go around maxing out the amps? Is it drawing 500 amps in pulses, or 1000 amps for several seconds. You'd need a DC clamp meter to see the amp draw. What type of battery reserve power do you have? Two AGM or 140aH of Cmax? Do you crank it up full tilt for 5 minutes at a time or for hours at a time? So based on all these factors you might do okay with that single alt or you might not. Try it and see. If that alt can't keep up and your voltage dips low you might need a second alt.
Bro, life happens. I havent dropped a video in months. Better to make 🔥 content than just dropping boring videos! Welcome back!
