One of the things that me and my friends enjoy is watching the teams do the keys we are currently doing (10s, 11s, 12s) and pulling things on a level we'd never imagine. We don't care that we wont be able to execute those pulls, it's just so cool to see someone do them on a key level we understand and could relate to. So we think, man imagine pulling all that lol. I feel like it could be a sentiment for the majority of the player base, since most do not go above 12 in a season, it's at least true for my little group. TGP is still entertaining, but is less relatable. Squish is right, this is because I will never even aspire to pull those keys, nor will the majority of key runners. Running a 17 might as well do 10,000% more damage than a 10 for all I care, cause I'll never be there. It's still fun to watch the competition, but it's a world I can't relate to at all.
THe mental load in M+ has increased over time to the point where I, as a healer, need weakauras to tell me things because you need to pull bigger into packs with more abilities than previously. I am glad that the DPS need to do more now, but it mental load hasn't increased so each role has the same amount of load, but its increased ACROSS the board and it requires a way bigger focus. I do think we need mechanics to deal with, but I think we have moved over to a bit too much. Maybe the increase was too steep with the changes to stop and we need to get used to it and it will automate after awhile, but M+ (although fun) is rather exhausting atm.
It would be pretty dope if they incorporated a ban system in the MDI similar to LoL. Like each team can ban a certain class. I think that would shake things up alot
The crafted items changes really hurt like hell too. Between being lower ilvl than mythic track nowadays, and them taking 90 flipping crests it's kind of ass to gear an alt out.
Truuuueee. And my main is still not max geared.. one myth track piece per week, IF I’m lucky and get a slot that I don’t already have myth in, feels so bad
AOTC Raid Lead here, and it is so much better on the mental of my guild to just clear the final boss, get our achieve, then we do 2-3 more weeks of full clearing as "farm" and then we break for the tier. Mythic Guilds could learn a lot from this. Players come back far more refreshed and perform better.
When I think of solo queue I imagine an MMR system entirely separate from normal Mythic+. No physical keystone. You gain or lose MMR based on the success of the key. Your MMR and average completed "key" level determine what dungeons you queue into. Bonus points for 2 or 3 chests. Difficulty modifiers could be based on your average key level versus the key level you queue into (for bonus points or more depleted points). Bloodlust and brez scrolls should be available at the start of the dungeon since I think those are just required at a baseline level.
Am i the only one who just enjoy the game. My guild is progging Brood and I just enjoy showing up and always getting more percent done and being with everyone. Of course there is some importance to getting CE but I have never let it kill my vibe. some nights i feel like damn i didnt perform well and other nights im feeling damn good. I honestly just watch this podcast and poddy c because everyone else is just so down on Retail its exhausting. Take Max's advice and just play other stuff.
@squishei Why do you think key depletion is "infinitely worse" ? I honestly can't think of a world where the cons will outweigh the pros for regular players.
Same, all i can see is positive things. One huge would be insanely lower tilt potential and toxicity. Someone making misstake would be just "upsy" could even laugh at it probably... someone dieing now can set you back for hours
MDI should have class/spec picks and bans and actually get some random interesting comps in there instead of having us watch literally the same thing over and over and over waiting on one team to make the tiniest mistake
Only loosly related, but Riots new fighting game 2XKO has the option to spectate matches in their lobby on the big screen with your little avatar. It's a really cool feature to have everyone standing around virtually watching together. Wow should be hopping on that tech if they're interested in wow esports
If they add solo queue they need to type of score screen after the dungeon, like LoL or starcraft 2. Help players know how much damage they mitigated and how that compares to others at that key level and spec.
I am barely playing now outside of raid logging for farm, But I am more than fine with that. I spent like 8 weeks going hard almost everyday after work. Now I am just chill and catching up on some other games but I am keeping up with patch notes and excited for the next major patch. I think it is very healthly that I can accomplish my goals and take a break for other things and came back feeling refreshed and energized for that new content.
Regards to Class-Balance and filtering - that is directly related to how difficult it is to do the keys you need to do to get your gear. If keys feel very doable noone will wait an extra 15min to get the perfect comp, they just go in there and get their keys done. But in a saison when it feels like you have at best a 50% chance to time your 8 or 10 people will ofc get ridiculous.
Actually, what Pete is saying is kinda what i experienced for the first time now in my WoW raiding carreer. That said, i did not raid since WoD, were we literally pulled 3 days a week from launch in November until we killed 6.2 HFC Mythic Assault in June, after which both tanks left the Raid for whatever reason. Also in WOTLK, we did not really pause at all, neither in Cata or MoP. Now in my new guild, they said its common that about 8-9 weeks into the Tier, after getting AOTC, KSH and maybe killing 4-5 Mythic Bosses, people just stop playing mostly until the next Season. Which is fine, i guess, i still play occasionally, but the Guild chat and general online times are very low besides a few other people. Some are doing PVP on a regular day and some are trying to push Title. So i get that kinda, albeit its completly new for me. That said, we arent going for CE, but usually only kill M bosses until the first Road blocker (which was Brood/Kyv this tier)
Question for you elitists, would it "help the meta" if they changed season title to per spec versus overall? IMO at the very least it would incentivize **some** experimentation with off meta specs and that would be at the very least, moving to a better direction.
We need a concerted effort from Blizzard to reduce dungeon complexity while also (importantly AT THE SAME TIME) reducing the power of addons. I'm a very mechanics driven player too and don't care too much about lore or staying true to the artistic vision in M+, but holy shit, I can't watch streams of some of the top players. Every few seconds you hear a shotgun go off, a bunch of boings and warning sirens telling you that abilities are being cast. You then hear a voice telling you EXACTLY when to move, when to taunt, when to do anything. I saw a tank have the text to speech literally call out the defensive cooldown name they are supposed to use for Dawnbreaker first boss because there's of course an optimal order for the rotation. No shame for players who do that, they work within the framework that is presented to them. But what the fuck, man. This is not ok. I'm sorry, but what the fuck has this game turned into? Some looney toons ass circus is blasting into your ears to notify you of what's happening and you are just following orders rather than actually playing the game. And don't get wrong, of course there's still skill to be shown, but.. I really don't think THIS should be a thing at all. I kinda wish they'd limit what weakauras and addons can do in instanced content and at the same time remove some complexity, like 4 caster packs one after the other, after the other... Having a successful kick rotation on a tough pack ONCE in a dungeon can be fun and rewarding. Having that shit happen 20 seconds after again, and 20 seconds after again and a single cast going through oneshots someone? Not very fun. Having 5 different boing sounds going off to tell you a spell is being cast or targets you? Ridiculous in my opinion. We need to pull the breaks on this arms race of weakauras vs dungeon/encounter designers cause it's getting out of hand.
Imo the issue with the pet stuff isn't people getting the pets it's having to level them if you're starting from nothing as a pet battler. Like... it's fine, it's just annoying.
I think the problem with MDI is the format/duration. I watched all 3 weekends and after like day 2/3 of weekend 1 it was almost like I've seen it all (with some exceptions, of course). I tuned into the other days solely because of my hope of seeing something new, but in the end it was basically the same as before - with better/perfected execution. I'd prefer if the tournament was way more compact (only having Globals would be one possibility). PS: @Tettles: I assume you are going to cast the TGP. 4-box-screen is a super awful viewer experience. Like in other esports, there should be an operator who identifies what is interesting/important and then shows it to the audience. Maybe that's a feedback you can forward to the production team ;)
I fotm rerolled to Enh Sham, and let me tell as someone that parses very well on all specs of Rogue, my DPS is either absolute trash or godlike. I left my Enh, I don’t like how crazy rng it is, it feels bad, the variance is way too much.

Really want more podcasts from WoW fans though.
