Nowadays we’ve had two good years (8-5, 9-5 in 2018/19. Every Saturday is just pain. Still, Tony Elliot has more top 10 road wins than James Franklin.
Yes. I think this will be a make or break year for Tony Elliott. He had the tragedy to deal with at the end of the season two years ago and cancelled two games. I felt that rippled on the team this past season and they felt the effects early, especially having to play Tennessee the first game back and then the JMU heartbreaker. Then they played several close games and just fell short. They had a player get seriously injured late against Louisville and ended up coming up short in that one. In his first year, he had some close losses too including Syracuse, UNC, Miami, and Louisville. He had some bad luck and dealt with the tragedy and horrific injury, but this is going to be a make it or break it year for him. He needs to turn some of these close losses into wins.
Good view of Tony Elliot but what really should get him #1 is his off-the-field comments which have been Butch Jones/Deon Sanders level stupidity. I am surprised you didn't call that out.
You can’t win 6 or 7 games every year at an average program like Maryland with average resources and be one of the 10 worst coaches in the country. He’s doing exactly what’s expected of them.
I'm not rushing to judgement on Troy Taylor. I'm giving him another year before I put him on this list. His resume and the lack of generally bad press gives him a mulligan Deion should not get.

I think the portal roster is the least of his shortcomings. There is a lot to running a D1 program, and learning on the fly isn't a great strategy. There is a reason all the other former players start out as position coaches.

It sucks because I really wanted Deion (before last year REALLY showed he’s a total clown) to put Colorado back on the map. They have a nice tradition and history of football, and I just would’ve loved to see them back to being relevant in any way. That might not ever happen now, and even if the next guy pulls them from the doldrums they won’t be winning much at least until the next decade (2030s). Deion should’ve been put at 1 on this list
It's not that Northwestern won and Deion didn't. Northwestern won using the majority of the previous year's losers. Deion would have lost more than 8 had he used the same players from the previous team.

Honestly, I think you have Sanders ranked to high.... or to low... or whatever. At least the other coaches on this list are actually trying to build recruiting, and develop kids, and want to be a successful program. Dieon has been riding the Shedeur and Shiloh wave sense youth league, and then lucked out and got Travis Hunter somehow at Jackson State, so he's been riding that wave as well. When those three are gone, his roster suddenly becomes a below average roster. I don't see any way he's staying at Colorado beyond this season. He's not going to set there and just lose every season. Eventually, everyone who's been sucking his taint, are going to eventually catch on and start calling him out. On his way out the door, he'll probably start making comments about how he wasn't able to compete because of systemic racism, or something like that. Then he'll disappear from public life for about a year, or so, then all of a sudden, he'll pop back up with a show on ESPN, or something like that and nobody will bring it all up again, or make him explain what he was doing, or why he was a failure.
I feel like this year will be when we can accurately judge Locksley. Won't have artificially less wins because of the division he was in, but won't have artificially more wins because the team is no longer carried by Taulia.
My 10 Worst Coaches: 10. Super Mario's Crystal Ball 9. Coach Prime 8. Taylor 7. Wilcox 6. Satterfield 5. Dillingham 4. Lea 3. Walters 2. Sunbelt Billy 1. Elliott Dishonorable mentions to Ar KANSAS' Sam Pittman, Marylands Mike Locksley and Illinois' Brett Bielema.
The main things Sanders brought was media attention and some star recruits, the problem is once the hype is gone is when we will see how Deion hits back in recruiting and winning. wouldn't judge a coach going in to a not good situation in his first year and he won more games than people expected so i think this season and next season will be tellers
With the two 2024 class portal transfers Florida is top 10 overall so try doing your homework. Napier is going to shock the world of college football this season
Where’s Cristobal? I’d probably have Pittman below Locksley since I think Maryland has improved like every season under Locksley it’s like a 4-8 then 5-7 than 6-6 type slow ass rebuild over there
The fact you got prime as number 7 is hilarious as discredit your knowledge for the game 😂 he is a bad coach for 4 wins after taking over a program that had 1 win is considered worst coach now ? Did you not see what he did at JSU ? Are you also taking to consideration most of the loses his " FIRST YEAR " were by less than a touchdown ? Yea we see who needs clicks lol
You compare 1 loss CU to 1 loss Northwestern. In 2022 Northwestern lost 5 games by 1 score or less, CU lost every game by at least 3 scores. Over the last decade NW was by far the better program. You need better analysis. CU this past season lost 5 conference games by 1 score or less with the worst line play in the country. So they were highly competitive with poor line play. I think it’s not unrealistic that they’ll have better line play this year which will result in more wins.

I bet ole Deion wished he'd stayed in Florida now and if Billy doesn't win this year he might be shown the door too
My 10 Worst Coaches:
10. Super Mario's Crystal Ball
9. Coach Prime
8. Taylor
7. Wilcox
6. Satterfield
5. Dillingham
4. Lea
3. Walters
2. Sunbelt Billy
1. Elliott
Dishonorable mentions to Ar KANSAS' Sam Pittman, Marylands Mike Locksley and Illinois' Brett Bielema.
I’d probably have Pittman below Locksley since I think Maryland has improved like every season under Locksley it’s like a 4-8 then 5-7 than 6-6 type slow ass rebuild over there
Shane Beamer, honorable mention?
great show ,
James Franklin should be here
Scott Satterfield needs to be on this list.
12:01 😏😏😏😏
lol, I thought Tedford was still at Cal😂
This the one we’ve been waiting for 😂/where’s James Franklins statue?
The fact you got prime as number 7 is hilarious as discredit your knowledge for the game 😂 he is a bad coach for 4 wins after taking over a program that had 1 win is considered worst coach now ? Did you not see what he did at JSU ? Are you also taking to consideration most of the loses his " FIRST YEAR " were by less than a touchdown ? Yea we see who needs clicks lol
He sucks
I noos dat hee aintz gott dat dare dionz on dat listz
Hey Lou, can you put these videos on Apple Podcast?
You compare 1 loss CU to 1 loss Northwestern. In 2022 Northwestern lost 5 games by 1 score or less, CU lost every game by at least 3 scores. Over the last decade NW was by far the better program. You need better analysis. CU this past season lost 5 conference games by 1 score or less with the worst line play in the country. So they were highly competitive with poor line play. I think it’s not unrealistic that they’ll have better line play this year which will result in more wins.
Plus NW has a real coach and Colorado doesn't.
locksley shouldn't be on this list man
Who should?
