    Good job. Finally a real test of anti-slice drivers with someone who slices. Most channels have a pro saying they cant slice it, but their normal ball flight is a draw, so that doesnt mean much. Appreciate testing it with someone that it is made for. And in general, I think there should be more tests by higher handicappers when testing equipment meant for more higher handicappers.

    Nice to see someone do a test for those of us who play a slice and address the divers made for use.

    I get the lessons comments. But the vast majority of players don’t have time or simply don’t want to get lessons. It’s not as simple as get a lesson or 2 and you are better. Takes lots of practice and time. Golf is supposed to be fun. So if you can make solid contact and want a driver that can help maximize what you can already do, one of these can really help.
    Thanks so much for putting a regular skilled golfer on for the testing. He represents the vast majority of recreational golfers.

      All of this. The fact that people don’t get this is beyond me. I’m not looking to make the PGA tour. I want to spend my weekends on the course hanging out with friends, not with an instructor telling me how terrible I am. I get that lessons are important but some people generally don’t care. If a club will help a bit then why not?

    I picked my Ping up from Lee on Friday and have had 3 rounds of golf with it. I am 100% hitting it longer, even with a toe / heel strike however, the right side of the fairway is there but not the right rough 👍🏼 in addition, aiming at the right hand side of the fairway when it does go left simply means I’m on the left hand side and still in play - I’m sure I need to trust it more to get more consistently down the middle but, it has worked for my game and frankly I couldn’t care less about the noise for the 12 odd times I’m hitting it 🙏🏼

    I have a Ping G-400 max 10.5 * and I slice 40 % of my shots. What I have done: change my regular shaft 50 g for a 50 g stiff. Cut the shaft by 1/2 inch. Have a medium Winn grip. Play my ball on the tee 3/4 over my club ( higher ). Bent a bit more on my right side at address. Delofted from 11.1* to the standard 10.5*
    That’s it folks …..and it work for me an average of 10-12 yards more ( 230 y ). Slices are way less 20%. More fairways. I’m 71 y.o. Balls are Titleist AVX or Callaway chrome soft.

    First time seeing your video, and i enjoyed watching you actually HELP an average ball striker with an ACTUAL EVERYDAY PROBLEM.
    I also think he liked the PING mostly before seeing the data, because he could FEEL THE WEIGHT of the clubhead. Made him concentrate more on his swing path, which he probably didnt notice. Great job.

    I have dealt with a bad slice through all of my short golf career. I just got fitted for a SIM2 Max D. On the trackman, 90% of my shots were going straight, even a little draw. Pulled the trigger on that driver needless to say. For reference, my swing path was mostly ok (only sightly out to in usually) but I had trouble closing my face.

    Great review. I picked up the Sim 2 Max D. I wondered if I chose correctly (trying to eliminate the right side) I had demo’d the Callaway Rogue ST Draw but chose TM. Still working hard to correct my swing. This video helped me to stick with my TM. Thanks

    Went from an off the shelf callaway epic flash to B21 fitted, played today for the first time and never hit so many fairways of the tee. Each to their own but I have never been happier.

    Great video again. I purchased the Ping SFT and it has eliminated the right side of the fairway. Now shooting low 80’s vs low 90’s. Far less scrambling being done. Thanks for the advice 👍

    Welcome back to the channel Alan. Lee, i just watched how far right you hit it on the Beeches with Dan... you sure you need anyone else to help you evaluate anti-right drivers ;-)

    Thanks Lee! It's great to see a normal player hitting these D clubs. You've convinced me to look at getting one. (Going the Sim2 D)

    Great video Lee, I tried the sm2 max d and could not get on with it, then They put the ping g425 sft in my hands and you are right this driver did not go right everything with my callaway went right, i loved the sound the look and everything about the ping so i bought it today, bye bye slice :-)

    Love this. I typically play a slight baby fade and the TM
    D-type setting is awesome for me. The new Sim2 is money. Great looks, sound,& a soft feel.
    I really think most would benefit from draw bias woods.

    Loved that vid, Lee. Many thanks for shooting it with a relatable golfer. How effective do you think data is for golfers like this who might not present the club at impact the same way twice? Can fitting still work for erratic golfers?

    Great video but a couple of comments
    I'd love to see the same test in a weeks time.
    Then the 10deg vs the 12 deg
    and also I wonder is the CallAway with the stock shaft that was designed to go in it would actually be better

    Hi Lee, I’ve watched this video several times now since it came out a year ago. It’s my favorite anti slice video:) Can you do a new video with Alan testing out the latest draw drivers to see how they stack up the older ones? Also a follow up segment to see how Alan’s new driver worked out for him? Thanks!

  • @kymstock1852
    @kymstock1852 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Try him with the Cleveland HB Launcher Turbo 10.5 Draw model next. If he is hitting down on the ball, why not add loft to get the trajectory higher and a little more spin to control the side spin? I will give him $10 Au for his Srixon driver!

  • @jordanevans6685
    @jordanevans6685 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Great review.
    You could either use the 12 degree head or use the loft sleeve to add some loft to gain launch angle and height. He’ll also probably gain carry distance. Using the loft sleeve to add loft will also close the face. For Alan’s ball speed and launch angle he needs some spin to keep the ball in the air so I wouldn’t go too low on the spin. A low kick point shaft with a tip that isn’t as stiff and with higher torque could also help him launch the ball and close the face. A counter balanced shaft might help him gain some swing speed. Ping uses them frequently because their heads are heavier than the other brands.
    Glad to see you doing well in your new post.
    Best wishes for continued success.

    I slice like hell. Went for a fitting today. The ping g425 SFT was all over the place for me. The g425 max 12 degree with loft set to max and i was hitting them straight every time

    How do you think the Sim2 Max D compares to a Callaway Epic Flash driver which is also supposed to be adjustable for fades and draws etc ?

  • @adrianrice354
    @adrianrice354 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    put him into a 12 degree driver and try a senior shaft or another regular shaft . IMO . needs to get the launch angle higher to get anymore distance . good luck . keep testing drivers :)

    He needs the spin to hold that ball up in the air bro. A bit of spin is your friend at 90 mph swing speed... If he was 110 and spinning it 3k then it would be an issue...

    Alan pls save the £400 on an anti slice driver and use £100 of the money you save, on an anti slice golf lesson or 3, Lee sort his path out, enjoyed the review as always tho 👍

  • @NFiltr8Red
    @NFiltr8Red 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    His slicing is coming from hitting his driver like a baseball bat/Hockey stick. If he did a straight back swing upwards and down, he would never slice again.

  • @grahamfuller2326
    @grahamfuller2326 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why doesn't he spend the money on lessons to help him hit up on it and improve consistency of strike. This proves that equipment can only help so much but if your swing is inconsistent it will never cure the problem.

  • @richardmarsh1769
    @richardmarsh1769 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Alan needs lessons not a new driver

  • @discr1709
    @discr1709 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Based on his ball and club data, Alan should spend his money on lessons, not new equipment. Negative attack angle, too low launch angle, no strike consistency, etc.
