@ayleen galan tacos Don José, it’s between the streets Vidrio and Argentina, colonia Americana. Most jericallas you find will taste good, pick the ones with the dark, crispy top. Also if you try tortas ahogadas, except from José el de la Bicicleta’s place, the tomatoes from the sauce will be cooked, and in my opinion as a “tapatía”, the cooked tomatoes version of the sauce is more delicious, but it’s a matter of personal taste.

I recommend you tasting the famous carne en su jugo a very popular and traditional dish for the Tapatios. Also tostadas de cueritos , desserts like chongos zamoranos, jericallas, buñuelos, etc.. Mexican street food is my childhood 😩😩🇲🇽🇲🇽 I remember for dinner me and my family would just walk to the centro and see whatever stands were out. I've been to Guadalajara but only because that's the only airport close to my parents home towns, so seeing their street food was muy interesante!

you got the importance of the texture..bravo... as a boy on vacation in mexico in the early 90's... i would buy tortas ogadas from a lady on a dirt road in Tlaquepaque... she had a display case made of glass with tortas stuff with pork and onions on display... the salsa or the tomato sauce they use now didn't exist, at least in my experience... there was only a bowl of red super spicy chile... and they would ask, you want 1/4 dip, half a dip, or completely drowned?... 1/4 dip was my speed.. i was 10... all in a bag and ready to go...

First time I tasted a torta ahogada was when my family moved back to Guadalajara in 2005, and ever since then it has been my absolute favorite dish (is it a dish?) ever.

The spot that was locally known as the best spot was in Avenida Guadalupe off the periferico (the main highway) but I forgot the name. But that place had lines around the block. Thanks for putting my hometown on the food map for your viewers

*_torta ahogada_* - Had one in CDMX at a resto that specializes in cuisine of Guadalajara but it was a sit down joint so the torta was served in a bowl and eaten knife and fork. I was keen to compare it to the *_Francesinha_* which is one of Portugal's national sandwiches. The Francesinha (little French one) origin has been pinpointed to a chef who worked in France and introduced his version of a Croque Monsieur/Madame to Porto, Portugal in the 1950s. It's a ham, pork roast, beef steak and sausage sandwich grilled/fried, covered with cheese and "drowned" in a tomato sauce; sometimes topped with a fried egg but always served with fries/chips. Delicious. The torta ahogada was also delicious but very very spicy! 🌶😳 I was quite excited to see the original street version of this torta. Excellent day, guys! 👍 P.S. When you two make it to Portugal, you definitely need to enjoy a Francesinha!

Keep in mind I said _one_ of their national sandwiches because the other one is even more popular. The *_bifana_* is thinly sliced pork with a skosh of plain yellow mustard on a white roll. Haha. Seriously. Sounds boring but very tasty and available everywhere often for just €1. 😂 I snacked on more than a few bifanas as I explored Lisbon. But how different are those sammies? One quite elaborate; the other not so much.

@ayleen galan tacos Don José, it’s between the streets Vidrio and Argentina, colonia Americana. Most jericallas you find will taste good, pick the ones with the dark, crispy top. Also if you try tortas ahogadas, except from José el de la Bicicleta’s place, the tomatoes from the sauce will be cooked, and in my opinion as a “tapatía”, the cooked tomatoes version of the sauce is more delicious, but it’s a matter of personal taste.
I love Guadalajara my best city para Comer tortas ahogadas y birria y menudo and much much much tequila shots 😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜 I live one and half hour from Guadalajara a small city town the name is Arandas jalisco

We put a tonne of research into our videos and the premise of our channel is to show some of the best food in the cities we visit- if it hadn’t been up to scratch we would have just put the camera down. I recommend you tasting the famous carne en su jugo a very popular and traditional dish for the Tapatios. Also tostadas de cueritos , desserts like chongos zamoranos, jericallas, buñuelos, etc.. Mexican street food is my childhood 😩😩🇲🇽🇲🇽 I remember for dinner me and my family would just walk to the centro and see whatever stands were out. I've been to Guadalajara but only because that's the only airport close to my parents home towns, so seeing their street food was muy interesante!

you got the importance of the texture..bravo... as a boy on vacation in mexico in the early 90's... i would buy tortas ogadas from a lady on a dirt road in Tlaquepaque... she had a display case made of glass with tortas stuff with pork and onions on display... the salsa or the tomato sauce they use now didn't exist, at least in my experience... there was only a bowl of red super spicy chile... and they would ask, you want 1/4 dip, half a dip, or completely drowned?... 1/4 dip was my speed.. i was 10... all in a bag and ready to go...

First time I tasted a torta ahogada was when my family moved back to Guadalajara in 2005, and ever since then it has been my absolute favorite dish (is it a dish?) ever.

The spot that was locally known as the best spot was in Avenida Guadalupe off the periferico (the main highway) but I forgot the name. But that place had lines around the block. Thanks for putting my hometown on the food map for your viewers

*_torta ahogada_* - Had one in CDMX at a resto that specializes in cuisine of Guadalajara but it was a sit down joint so the torta was served in a bowl and eaten knife and fork. I was keen to compare it to the *_Francesinha_* which is one of Portugal's national sandwiches. The Francesinha (little French one) origin has been pinpointed to a chef who worked in France and introduced his version of a Croque Monsieur/Madame to Porto, Portugal in the 1950s. It's a ham, pork roast, beef steak and sausage sandwich grilled/fried, covered with cheese and "drowned" in a tomato sauce; sometimes topped with a fried egg but always served with fries/chips. Delicious. The torta ahogada was also delicious but very very spicy! 🌶😳
I was quite excited to see the original street version of this torta. Excellent day, guys! 👍
P.S. When you two make it to Portugal, you definitely need to enjoy a Francesinha!

Keep in mind I said _one_ of their national sandwiches because the other one is even more popular. The *_bifana_* is thinly sliced pork with a skosh of plain yellow mustard on a white roll. Haha. Seriously. Sounds boring but very tasty and available everywhere often for just €1. 😂 I snacked on more than a few bifanas as I explored Lisbon. But how different are those sammies? One quite elaborate; the other not so much.
