    Great video and respect that you always offer your opinion. I’ve played for 40 years, collected Martins and Taylors and a sweet J200, Owned many cherished a few,but my Acoustasonic Strat is the most inspiring, musical and ergonomic instrument I have played. It makes me smile 😃 Job done

    These things are great. I use mine for teaching, playing solo acoustic gigs, playing in a country band where I need both acoustic and electric and I even use it on recordings. It’s a great songwriting tool and it’s a lot easier to play than a full sized acoustic.

    I like the business practice of over delivering for less money and I hope they stick with that model. I am much more likely to be a repeat customer when i can pick up a guitar from a certain brand and on a regular basis say that this feels like a much more expensive guitar and I don’t know how they can sell them for this cheap. Good job Fender and keep it up!

    Thx for this Jackson - your video helped me make a purchasing decision… we’re doing a lot of open mic / events these days and the versatility you described is exactly what I was looking for…. Strangely the 9V battery feature was a really big deal -that’s an easy swap in a live setup. Cheer & thx from 🇨🇦

    * Really great demo! Thank you. Just ordered one for myself... same color too. Cannot wait to get my hands on it. I'm constantly searching for a way to play 'electric' and acoustic on the same guitar. I went though a phase of using the Line 6 Variax guitars. They were great, but there was still something missing. I hope this takes me to a new, fun place to explore!!

  • @Perisher80

    Excellent to see Fender providing this option. I have an American Jazzmaster and my much preferred acoustic voice uses the body sensor which the Player version lacks. I can see the advantage of a 9V battery but perhaps it is not as green an option, and the American Acoustasonics can be played and charged at the same time should you arrive at a gig ‘flat’ (it has a long mini-USB lead).

    • @45zapatero
      @45zapatero 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me the big issue with the built in lithium battery is that there is a max number of times you can charge it before it dies finally. And suppose this will happen in 10 years : will there still be a replacement option ? 9 volt battery is a huge improvement for me...

    • @Perisher80
      @Perisher80 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@45zapatero I can understand that view but I take the optimistic view that there will be replacement batteries available through Fender stockists, as there will be standard 9v batteries as well. The rechargeable lithium is very convenient - and I have a positive outlook 😊
      Incidentally, I use my Jazzmaster for about an hour every day and have to recharge the battery about every 20 days, so it’s not like a phone which I charge daily and its capacity degrades relatively quickly, so I anticipate a long life from the guitar’s lithium battery - we shall see (it may outlive me!)

    I'm an acoustic player and play acoustic gigs every week . I actually bought a Godin A6 Ultra when I was having my Martin refretted. I started playing the Godin and really liked how it was easier to play then a traditional acoustic. It really requires a different EQ then my
    Martin to make it sound good. Started doing a Duo with a woman who was playing the Acoustisonic. Her sound was so thin. Really lacked that fat full ranged acoustic sound. I asked to EQ it to a fuller sound and she she couldn't. It didn't have the treble, mid and bass controls on it. She went out and bought a fair inexpensive Takamine and brought it to our gig and she instantly sounded better. So I started playing my Martin again and was astonished on how it was so much richer sounding then my Godin. Sticking with the full Acoustic guitars from now on.

    • @PHeMoX
      @PHeMoX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A properly mic'ed up acoustic guitar will always sound superior to this though. And by quite a big difference at that. The Acoustasonics are very thin sounding when it really comes to a 1:1 comparison. It's not even a contest. _And_ , when it comes to live guitar options, I have to say I very much prefer the Line6 Variax HD range over these Fenders. The Acoustasonic design is very interesting in its own right. But if it can't do electric sounds quite as good, it'll never be a 'one-fits-all' solution, which the Line6 Variax guitars very much are. I'm not even hating on Fender. I think there's a market for what is aimed at more of the acoustic range of things (most notably when you also do a lot of analogue drumming on the guitar itself). But I'm still looking for a reason to pick an Acoustasonic over the latest Line6 Variax HD Standard series. Cheaper, more models, better sounding and virtually limitless tweaking / creating your own sound.

    • @aphotosyntheticworld
      @aphotosyntheticworld 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@PHeMoX as someone with a martin I often dread having to ask them to mic it and love the acoustansonic because I can just plug in to their PA and trust I'll have some good acoustic and electric tones with one guitar and essentially double my choice of songs I can play with one guitar. This seems to be for someone who has other guitars including a good acoustic and electric and just want something they can plug and play for multiple tones live or while songwriting/recording.

  • @PHeMoX
    @PHeMoX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I still think the only reason Fender made the cheaper model this good, is because their more expensive model did not sell nearly as much / good enough numbers. Mostly for being too pricey. I mean, it makes sense. The base model Line6 Variax HD already outperforms the Acoustasonic Player in my opinion. Including having way more guitar models for less money. So there's probably no way people would consider the American model over that. Especially anyone who leans more into the electric guitar models. Not to mention how the 10 acoustic models in the Line6 Variax HD are very very good. Surprisingly good, actually.

    I think they intend for the Mex Players to pretty much take over from the overpriced Americans. When the Americans came out Fender was bombarded with complaints from people who loved the guitars but did not want to spend the big bucks. Fender realized they had a winner and quickly responded with a less expensive model, and a new factory to build them in.
