Larry Bird. That man embodied this concept. Saw a video where he said he would shoot 700 jumpers. He would be about to leave but then think to himself....Magic is probably shooting 800 or 900. He'd stop, turn around and go back to shoot 100 or 200 more.
He wasn't going to be outworked.

It is easy to talk like this when you have been rich and famous your whole life. Imagine reaching 40 and you still don't know what you want, don't have a dime and your dreams fail time and time again.
Never give up ! Never look back keep looking forward ! We all fail and we all fall but at the end those who never get up and push past that never understand! Do in life whatever brings you joy sir

Yeah but no one is born famous, and to attain the kind of success he did, that isn't just gifted to you. At one point, sooner or later, everyone's gotta decide, okay, am I gonna be defeated by this, am I gonna consider myself fine, and stop there, or do I want to keep going, and trying, and make a difference?
And I'm not saying someone is a loser if they admit defeat. Sometimes life defeats us. It's just human, and legit, and normal. And you can still be a good sport, and lose with grace and without leaving behind your respect for yourself, your sense of dignity. And it doesn't have to crush you, you can find happiness and contentment anyways, even if you never realize your dreams and your life on the whole isn't what you dreamed it could be.
But it takes a lot of strength to keep going, to make it, and to keep yourself ready to repeat the whole process again and again and again. You need to get the right lessons, you need to train, to learn, to make efforts, to get on that treadmill and be ready for a lot *and I mean a lot* of pain, and disappointment, and disillusionment, and losing, and picking yourself back up from the floor and trying again as many times as you can, and more. And it's not something everyone can do. And anyone can get lost along the road, for any number of reasons, and there's a lot that in the end comes down to sheer luck, circumstances, coincidences.
But a lot comes down also to sheer bloody-mindedness, too. To force of will. To refusing to accept defeat. To refusing to settle for less. To declaring that no, you will not be outworked, and to keep that promise or die trying. And no, it's not easy at all, for anyone. But it's been done time and again - it can be done.
In the end it's up to everyone of us, and no one should shame you by calling you a loser, or make you feel like you're not worthy. If you did the best you could it's already a lot. And trust me, you can find happiness in your own little way, as many do, as some of my friends did, as perhaps one day I'll do, too. We're not all born to attain great things, to write the Next American Novel, to go to space, to lead the world to a better future... and even if one potentially could, sometimes life strikes so hard that you just can't get back up. And it's okay to watch the sky from the ground.
But if you can... you get back up.
Up on that treadmill.
And in the end no one is pointing a gun at you. It's your choice.
