    This is so frustrating and annoying. It really makes me feel trapped again by ebay. They really go out of their way to make sure scammers get the upper hand. They clearly have all the info they need and yet the seller has to jump through hoops just to get what they are legally entitled to. This was the major fear that sellers had when switching to the eBay managed payments... That eBay would hold and control funds that they have no right to hold... Here it is coming to fruition. Ebay knows scammers exist and here is another easy tool for them to use. What happens when sellers no longer have time to actually list items because we have to spend half the day filling out info that ebay already has? Like this month alone the usps has lost so much mail and delivered very late. The shipping is there... This shouldn't even be a question.... What ever happened to sellers protection?

    I agree once we ship the item and hand it off to the post office as far as Im concerned our job is done.

    I totally agree, Dominic. The way they are holding funds is terrible. It means in many cases we have to pay shipping from our pockets instead of releasing the buyer's shipping that was paid.

      Yes and out of pocket without eBay sellers discount. They told me to link my PayPal back and pay them their fees.

    My view on this, customers need to provide a safe spot for delivery. If your neighborhood is known for package thieves it is up to that person to correct it. All these packages are scanned with GPS coordinates. You can have the buyer go to their local post office and ask for the gps location where it was delivered using the tracking number. If it was delivered at their home, then the seller should no longer be on the hook regarding the transaction. Like I said the buyer needs to provide a safe spot for delivery or get a PO Box. Plain and simple really.

    I definitely agree with you because what happen my money is on hold and I ship the item to the person they can sit there and tell them they didn’t receive the item and they got a tracking number. Or I ship the item out then they cancel. I’m out the product and I’m out my money.

    It's actually ridiculous. The moment you get the order, get it packed and dropped off at the PO, your job is done and it is out of your hands. I have to sign up for managed payments by the end of Feb and i already have nightmares about it .. i want to keep PayPal.

    My similar case was closed within an hour through main eBay after I asked for help with it.
    Totally agree with you on the way these “item not received” cases are being handled.

    Great Topic! And very frustrating for many sellers I believe perhaps one of the reasons of why they also do this is because the longer they can hold on to thousands upon thousands of the sellers dollars, EBay could be capitalizing on the generated interest accumulated, which in turn can add up to huge profits in the long run. And Maybe I'm wrong about this...But would they truly admit it anyways? God Bless Everyone and Stay Vigilant!

    If it was shipped USPS with tracking, the buyer can take the tracking number to the post office, and get the GPS location (address) where it was scanned delivered.

    Yup. I got a MC011 restriction today and they asked me for proof of tracking and delivery on all my orders. Every single one of my orders already has tracking and delivery confirmations. I spent the day reading through forums on how unlikely it is for them to remove the restriction. I had $20,000 in my payout that they havent sent me so i cancelled any pending orders and am rerouting my past 6 items i shipped before theyre worth thousands of dollars and ebay MOST LIKELY will not reinstate my account or give me my money. I decided to never even try selling on ebay anymore.

    I have to set up my managed payments for Ebay and I really am wondering how long I can sell on ebay when it is just so friggin frustrating because every time I turn around they have more problems for the sellers. They have forgotten that sellers are half of what they need for their market. I started my own youtube channel to do live sales to just sell without needing ebay but it does not work for everything I sell.

    Thank you for addressing this! I had this happen with a $120 item that a buyer hadn't received updated tracking on due to the USPS delays. The buyer was annoyed. All I could do was send the tracking number again since I had no new information and luckily it ended up being delivered a few days later. I had to message eBay with their chat feature to get the case closed. Luckily, I didn't notice the money frozen since I had other sales covering it at the time, but if I had bills due, that would've been bad!
    Hope eBay can figure out a way to fix this better.
    Also, thanks for shouting out my dad's eBay store ♡ I will be joining as a member ASAP- I'm behind lol.

    I've pretty much just had the same thing happen, INR case resolved in my favour, payment released, however...
    eBay is now putting a hold on every single payment I received since.
    Been selling for 18 years, not a new seller and have not taken a break from selling.
    I'm furious, I've spoken to several staff and they've all just said to accept it basically. I have no idea how long it will last, and there is no reason for it to continue.

    I had funds frozen for a return. I honestly can't keep track of Ebay's deposits to my account, withdrawals, etc. I can't understand it and I question their calculations and their software that's "handling" our accounts. However, I'm moving more inventory to AMZ and Poshmark and other sites. They are so much clearer about what fees are charged.

      ebay's managed payments "reports" are hideous, tedious and very user unfriendly. They had their marketing department create the reports instead of their accounting dept. is the way it looks.

    Totally agree. I recently had payout funds held because a buyer opened an item not received case. Tracking showed delivered over a month before. That case should have never even been able to be opened.

    I actually have three items that Ebay is holding my funds for, due to the slow pace of USPS. Like I can do anything about it. It is so hard to get in touch with a human. How long did it take for funds to be released. Im a small time seller and this hurts my household.

    Hi Dominic,
    Thank you for addressing this problem. As you I’m a seller and since managed payments started. At least three times EBay has put hold to my funds for ridiculous circumstances. Eventually everything turn out to my favor, of course. EBay managed payments have a long way to be like paypal. The system is very redundant and in some cases dumb.
    On the other side of the coin I Recently purchase something from EBay supply store and wasn’t delivered. Even though tracking shows it did. I contacted them and said willl take 7-10 days to do the whole investigation thing. I wonder if EBay is holding their own funds until my stuff shows up (?) lol. Kind regards.

    That’s very good you reached out to eBay and resolved your problem! I would have done just that too! I’m thinking ebay modules are not in sync therefore a case was allowed to be opened against you. I had a different issue and eBay rep agreed my time was wasted. Should have never happened.

    I like to use pending payout for my labels. And I recently had a separate issue with other buyer eBay put a hold on my account, so I could not ship a item using my pending, Luckily I noticed a flaw in the item told the buyer about it so I canceled the transaction.

    I can not believe I found this video - eBay just hammered my account because a seller claimed that I sold them an item " not as described" which in my description clearly stated "No Returns" however, I had no idea that this does not exist any longer.
    We are being FORCED by eBay to take a return.
    I'm all done after 20 years and flawless feedback.

    I have not violated any eBay policy's and my funds are on hold for 6 months. 100% feedback with 13,000 positive feedbacks from buyers. I'm thinking it's time to hire an attorney. eBay customer service tells me I have not violated any policy. My account is 21 years old, yes, I signed up in 2000 as a seller.

    I really hope Ebay gets this inefficiency resolved so we can concentrate on doing business. I've been fortunate so far and all of my packages have gotten to their proper destination in a reasonable amount of time, but I'm sure this happens to all of us eventually.     I'm in Canada just switching to managed payments in a few weeks. Also ebay just introduced ebay shipping here as well in the fall.
    I have a pending item not received case on me currently (stuck in USPS transit since Dec 22) that the buyer is being reasonable about, but understandably frustrated with USPS. Ebay was able to put a hold on my PayPal funds. Its happened a few times if a return case is opened etc. Maybe this is something that they do in Canada and not in the US, but wanted to pass along my experience to you.

    Quite honesty I wish there was another option to sell other than eBay. I’m speaking about a place that has the same traffic as eBay. These smaller sell sights do not. Ebay doesn’t protect sellers and this new managed payments is just crap. Glad your issue was resolved.

    Ebay is holding the money of one of my auctions (large amount) after it was delivered and I received a positive feedback. They will hold it for a full month. It seems to me they keep it longer to make money with my money. Also, all the lesser amounts are released as soon as the goods are delivered.

    I am very ....leery of listing anything but I don’t want to be that way. I struggle anyway to not be fearful in life, Seems like I have to fight against the system at times but I tred on and they’re usually minor things I notice and nothing I can say specifically on what it is because it a glitch sort of thing. And is always fixed quickly when I refresh or log out and back in.
    I pray with every thing I sell, less last month due to me being really busy with other things and family issues, and my job here, but I shouldn’t be trying to avoid this about refunds. I totally understand that they’re trying to smooth the new process out and get everything in working order.
    Before I switched to manage payments which was this week they were already holding my funds with every sale and I’m not sure why except that December I slowed down a bit. But it did not help my confidence and I’m wondering if it will be like that if I sold a lot. This is a question I would like to know because otherwise I will not be able to pay for shipping. I do keep my funds separately from my personal account so I’m able to pay for shipping and if needed I will pull out of my personal account but I’m currently having a little trouble with that in itself.
    I do agree yes. Sellers should be able to feel safe and confident in what they are doing otherwise why would we send anything?

    After 6 years top rated seller no issues whatsoever, ebay decided to freeze all funds for my sales until the items are delivered. Been going on for 2 months now and they refuse to tell me why they took this action and when they will end the hold.

      I'm kinda dealing with the same thing. I switched to MP on 11/1...things were fine, getting daily payouts until 11/27 then payouts stopped. They had to do a second round of verification of my bank account and they won't verify it. To date they owe me 12k, deactivated my 1,000+ listings. It's been a nightmare. I've been selling since 8/98 at the same physical address.

    Hi I got issue today so I told buyer to check USPS about it tracking shows it’s was delivered and that person wants a refund asap. I was wtf so I message eBay about it but they will closed cause of tracking was delivered. Thanks for the tips.

    I'm not sure if I've posted this before on your channel, possibly on another video but my policy is that ANY low or no feedback buyers get their items shipped to them requiring signature confirmation on delivery.
    I do this on my dime but it saves me future headaches.

    I agree with almost everything you said in the video. However, the way you started off, I thought you meant they froze the whole account of your managed payments, not just the amount for the one item. That would have been even worse. But, yes, it is ridiculous that they froze any of your money, or even came to you for info they already had.
    On a similar note, regarding an issue from another recent video you made. I had someone complain over the holidays that their order did not arrive by the estimated delivery date. I checked with the post office and was told that in addition to holiday slow-downs, it was being trucked (rather than flown) across the country from OR to NY because of pandemic restrictions. I relayed this info and told the buyer I would refund them on Jan. 5 if the item ($6 piece of makeup, btw) had not yet arrived. This was a week before Christmas. The next day I got the infamous message from Ebay to provide tracking# (which was already uploaded) and proof of delivery. I uploaded the tracking, with no ability to add a note to ebay. Within 24 hrs ebay closed the case with a full refund to the buyer. I watched the tracking number, and the buyer received their "free" item 3 days after Christmas. I saw what you said in the video about getting ebay to reimburse me, but I don't feel like chasing down the numbers again, for only $6...But it should never have happened. I had it scanned in at the post office, and that is proof I mailed it. Ebay should give it a month at least, especially during holidays and other extenuating circumstances.

    Almost every time eBay brings something new: updates, improvements etc. - it means suffering to the sellers. Why does it have to be this way?

    My husband just got one, the item is still in transit, however, the impatient buyer rather than contacting us, opened not received item on eBay.

    I do agree that this is a pain. I had it happen, but it didn't get as far as money being frozen. In my case, buyers roommate picked up the box and they hadn't talked. Get resolved quickly. However, Ebay needs to realized that we SELLERS are their customers Buyers are our customers. If Ebay takes care of us, then we take care of buyers. Bad buyers poison the entire marketplace. In general, I don't see Ebay investing in sellers. Where is our sellers app? Amazon has a sellers app. Why don't they have clothing fit by camera on the app for buyers? That would really be a big boost to sellers who sell clothes. There are a ton of improvements they can make, but they choose not to. How do we get Ebay's attention to demand better service for sellers? I don't know, but I have a growing list of issues and improvements that need attention! Thanks for the video!

    Confirming - this is happening to me as well... Buyer opened a case a while ago. Package shows delivered 5 days ago and my $ is still on hold?? Makes no sense!

    I had shipped an item that was shown to be in limbo for weeks. Buyer opened a case and money was put on hold for like a week or more. Item was eventually shown as delivered but eBay still gave buyer 24 hours to confirm item was delivered, which they never did because why would they.
    The big thing I haven’t seen talked about yet is they place holds on returns too. I had a $250 hold on my account from a watch I sold. Buyer has a long time to actually ship item back. Will be a huge problem for people who sell expensive items.

    talk about anxiety. they freeze my account due to a return being started. In the mean
    time I continue to get sales but am not allowed access to my earned money even to
    print the shipping labels. Post office only goes up to 13 oz before charging priority
    rates. At home weight of item can be up to 1lb before it goes to priority. Funds on
    hold for over two weeks and not even right at all. very frustrating, time consuming
    and costs me a fortune as I scramble to try and come up with money
    for shipping labels that I am then forced to purchase from USPS instead of ebay
    making the money on my labels since they insist on holding my funds until whenever
    they want. Why wouldn't eBay want to make that money from shipping labels???

    Yes they make it sound like they tried days ago when actually it had been a couple of minutes when they sent the first message. It just happened to me. I hate when they freeze my freaking money instead of doing like the Post Office where they won't do anything on a non received items until at least two weeks. This policy is the one I hate the most!

    Totally agree, why is ebay asking sellers for information that they already have, and punishing sellers by freezing funds for something they have no control over? This should be streamlined by ebay to save everyone a lot of time.

    I'm in the middle of a case similar to this right now. The customer is claiming a chargeback and eBay asks me for proof of delivery. In the request is a link back into their own page that shows the tracking with proof of delivery? It's a small amount of money so it's not a big deal, but why am I wasting my time when they already have the details. Why would they hold the funds at all when they already have proof of delivery?

    New seller and waited 3 weeks to get paid a measly $48.00. Funny thing though, eBay took their share as soon as the transition was complete. I thought this would be fun and a good side gig to earn some extra money but it more of a hassle than it’s worth!

    This has happened to me three times already-as a matter of fact “right now” they have money on hold - truthfully, since managed Pymt started- this is the beginning of Ebay’s downfall-I give them a few years - to me they are becoming one of the worst platforms - so only time will tell

    After selling my first item on ebay managed payments I decided to remove all my listings and I have a 100% seller rating. I just could'nt deal with the holding of my money after selling and shipping the same day and the ridiculous fees that keep disappearing out of my bank account.

    This has happened to me. I was getting paid a couple days after delivery and no issues with the items sold to buyers. Now they all of a sudden are saying I have no payouts even though I have available funds. It has been weeks and I still haven't gotten paid. All I keep hearing from Ebay is wait a couple days. I've waited weeks and I'm not been given any answers

      I’m also a part timer and they froze my payout and further postage couldn’t process. So had to pay full usps at counter.

      @@lmitchell4412 yes I was told by eBay that I could have still bought postage if I had added PayPal to my account. But why would I charge up my PayPal... when eBay just took me off PayPal. Plus having to put money into my PayPal from my bank. That’s just dumb.

    I just starting selling, had to add debit Ac all good but now I have a red banner, when it says “we unfortunately cannot verify Ac” It gives a option to log into bank from eBay which I think is very dodgy.

    This is insane on eBay’s part, especially it showed the package is delivered and as the seller, it’s out of your control.

      Wait until you see their "transaction report" format. It's a hodgepodge on a spreadsheet - not like paypal's reports.

    After a thorough review of the account, we show that your account was restricted or suspended because you have a previous account that's still suspended, or you're allowing a suspended member to use your account.
    Your account was found to be linked by similar contact information and / or financial information. I have money on hold do they refund the money back… I really need to continue on selling on eBay this is bad
