In the US we call him target practice
All this episodes Drew has shown us other people's ideologies. So I challange Drew to a video where he does the Political Compass test and tells us about his ideology.
While I think that would be really cool, it might cause problems with people that could be upset at his beliefs. So probably not.

4:28 in Russia we call Santa "Дед Мороз" which literally means grandpa frost. The earliest descriptions of him back in medieval times describe him as a spirit that comes in early February to give gifts to good children and punish the naughty ones. He has a really long beard and simular outfit to modern day santa but it is blue and the hat is a bit different. He also has a frost staff that he carries, that allow him to manipulate frost magic. He comes in a sled driven by 3 white horses that represent the three winter months. He also has a daughter named Снегурочка. According to folklore he lives in Lapland(northern Finland). The later in history the more Дед Мороз became about giving gifts rather than punishment. As russia was influenced by western cultures the more Дед Мороз became like santa. Now he is almost always represented in a red outfit and with santa's distinctive hat and having a sled with 7 reindeer rather than 3 white horses. He oftenly is represented with short beard and glasses. However he still is almost always has his frost staff and is accompanied by Снегурочка and without santa's pipe or glasses. Also russia Дед Мороз has no factory or elves that help him make the gifts so he makes them all by himself with only help from his daughter Снегурочка.
Finns also think that he lives in Lapland.

@@irp3ex never heard of великий устюг. Everyone always said Lapland in Russia. We even had a unit in "Surrounding World" class in first grade about the differences between Santa Claus and Дед Мороз and all the info about Дед Мороз, and according to the teacher and my textbook(yes I am not making it up), Дед Мороз lives in Lapland.

4:36 Yeah in english it translates in Grandfather Snow in Cyrillic is written like Дядо Мраз. But I don't think it's specific for the USSR I think a lot of the slavic countries call him that way. Btw I am bulgarian and sometimes we use that name for Santa.

@@eoin8450 I've watched him long enough to be certain that he's just a centrist and, as anyone who ever visited political forums would know, centrist definitely tend to get shit on by everyone else. That being said, with all the videos he's made that make fun of the radicals from all four corners, I'm pretty sure most people who would unsubscribe from him because he's a centrist have already done so anyway so he might as well take it yeah.
