I thank God for giving us Johann Sebastian Bach who brings His Voice to humanity and I also thank God to giving us many brilliant musicians in the world and among them, Maestro Andras Schiff!!!
Hallelujah
Andras Schiff remains the Maestro on the wonderful compositions of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Yes! yes!! yes!!! 🙂
Sublime! I shall never tire of Bach. After a very long life, I hope to see him soon after I arrive in Heaven!
He is to be found in Room 2289. On the 34 th floor. When you come out of the winged elevator it's on the right hand side.
You are in haven ,and you will not meet him ,he does not look like ...........
He is a fantastic artist especially
when he plays Bach
I know
Both of the music and the performance are miracle !
His sound production always a heavenly one. So crystal clear and beautiful.
Also, his hands gesture alone already an exhibition of art at the highest level. Bravo!
I heard Andras Schiff plays these incomparable pieces by Bach at La Fenice in Venice in 2019. Memorable.
I wholeheartedly agree with everything you wrote.
Schiff is indeed a wonder. I believe this concert was in Berlin December 2021
He’s a sublime Bach interpreter ❤
I don’t get tired listening to Andras Schiff 😮😮
Megrendítő, a legmagasabb esztétikai élményt érzem mindig, ha Schiff András játékát hallgatom.
Hála Bachnak, hála Schíff Andrásnak, és magyarságomban is boldogabbnak érzem magam.
Andras Schiff au sommet de son art. Merci
Such consummate skill he has in re-presenting this music afresh, but also such capacity to REMEMBER such a huge amount with perfection, it certainly seems to be!
That 'Ole Boy sure know how to tickle the ivories!
Andras Schiff has written that there is no need to use the sustain pedal when performing Bach. Don't most of us wish!
The first partita 1st movement .. he uses pedal a lot. Just look into the piano, you can see it easily, its perfectly filmed.
Since he took that view he has relaxed his rule but I believe he still regards it as important to be able to play without the sustain pedal in order to use it sparingly for colour rather than to cover up technical deficiencies.
Busoni, Casella, Perahia, Richter and others think differently. Schiff is fantastic but not the holy grail.
For those asking, this was recorded in the Great Hall at Hatfield House in England. At the start you can see a very famous painting of Elizabeth I on the wall called the Rainbow Portrait.
Fantastic
Amazing, and so perfect, a musical meditation
Magnifique!
Gracias.
What an extraordinary artist!!! Bravissimo Maestro, truly moving hearts!
not human. 👏
Bellissime suites e eccezionale il pianista.... Ma mi mancano i flauti❤
❤❤❤❤❤
beautiful Sokolov I love you man
Hands of a magician,than you
15:55 last movement of Partita I B-dur. Everybody takes this piece too fast! We miss all the intricate synchopated moving notes. They are just a blur. Sorry Maestro.
Isn't there any info about when and where has this performance been recorded ?! if there is any, adding it to description would be a great idea.
The last part was played in the Boulez Hall in Berlin
A great setting for a performance of the partitas, even if the acoustics aren't the greatest.
Interesting, I see him using lots of pedals. I definitely remember him saying he does not use sustain pedal for Bach. I think he has changed his mind.
Fantastic playing of Bach. Through Andràs Schiff's playing, we discover unexpected nuances of expression in Bach's music that were hidden in the playing of other pianists. Incredibly divine indeed.
Below I take the liberty of presenting the gigue from the first partita as I imagine it should sound. As a spastically handicapped person who cannot play the piano in order to play the music as I hear it in my head, I worked on this gigue note for note in dynamic and tempo variation for two months in 1995 with the help of a music computer programme until it sounded as I heard it in my head. Today I would still make slight changes in tempo fluctuations in some passages. I will interpret all of Bach's partitas with today's technological possibilities.

Where is this recorded? It looks like a fine manor house or castle in England or Germany?
The Great Hall at Hatfield House in England.
I cannot here any imbalance in the interpretation of Andras Schiff.
He is too clever and experienced.
Is it just me or did no one cough for once?

🎉 🎉🎉🎉
Advertisements during the pieces? 😡
This performance, primarily is subtle and smooth, and less dynamic, right opposite to Gould's version. Both versions are not perfect. It's a pity.
❤❤❤❤❤
