This is the greatest performance by Lazar Berman of any musical piece in the history of music. It is the perfect intersection of technical ability, composition and emotion. In this piano playing one can hear the sounds and voices of a violine, for which the composition originally was written by Bach, mixed with a deep tapestry of an organ.
