ISOLATION IN ISOLATION by Zak Nemorin

I have been working with many of our Millennium Performing Arts extended family members in creating this short film, showcasing the core Matt Mattox based “Isolation Technique” we teach. This technique was passed down to me by the late great Jacki Mitchell and now, as Head of Jazz Dance at MPA, I have the pleasure of doing the same for the next generation of artists training with us. Our legacy continues!
I would like to thank all our MPA warriors, both current and alumni, who are isolating either with their families at home, in shared apartments or perhaps wholly on their own the world over. I am so proud of you and hope this film brings you some light!!!
Jazz Dance, in any of its many forms, has the power to unite us, bringing our communities together, especially in times of trouble. From its humble roots to its constantly evolving branches, Jazz Dance somehow finds the joy in any given situation and that can only be a step in the right direction... What could be more apt at this time?!!
