Those Fox fish could be 30 to 40 years old. They don't get to big. They taste like grouper. Average. A good feed of sand whiting any day. Grouper, foxies, Queenie's. And big female dhues we let go.

Just spent the weekend hiking around the Valley of Fire in the desert outside of Las Vegas. The rock formations were awesome and reminded me somewhat of where you guys are in WA. Let's trade places. No fish in the VoF but I'm sure you would dig it.

Bring some starch with ya! Some rice or taters. The timing is a bit of a pain if you intend to cook in one pot, but the rice adds so much and is super light to carry in.

Blue Grouper is a protected species here in Victoria. I can understand why, in all my decades of fishing I've never caught even one. But I hear they are good eating. I may have to do a WA fishing trip, visit a friend and kill two birds with one stone. Nice catch!

They get fished out from easy locations to access. Fortunately we have so much wild and remote coastline they are pretty safe over here
