they do a lot of work at Disney, but they also have many teams working on it at once so it takes less time. still takes a while but less time than one guy doing it alone. many hands make light work as the amish say.

I saw this tutorial and got motivated to create one of my first videos on the channel. It took me about 5-6 hours and the result was pretty good compared to the time taken.
I couldn't get started before. I wanted to learn everything in Animate and After Effects to have the perfect video. But this got me started. YOU got me started. I am so happy right now. Finally, after 2 years of just planning stories and music I am finally getting some work done.
I have decided to bind myself under a time limit to make projects now.
Had I not seen your video, I wouldn't have known that this is possible.
YOUR hard work is helping SO MANY other people to work harder. It is just wonderful to see how a single person can affect so many people at once.
I believe I am only going to move forward from here. I am never going to forget that I got started here. By you.

You're literally the best! I appreciate you more than I can even explain. Without you, I wouldn't be able to do half of what I do. Please don't ever stop!

You have no idea how helpful you are to people like me just starting out! Your commitment to this video is absolutely amazing and as much as I have a lot of experience with photoshop just subtle things like bringing in a character animator project into after effects rather than rendering an alpha and bringing it in is immensely helpful. The depth you have gone to is perfect and I will definitely be bookmarking this lesson and keep coming back to it. You're he best dude!!!

I do wonder if you could do a video on your actual setup though. I know you showed us your microphone but what kind of Mac do you use, what web cam, etc. Just to get an idea on what the best setup is. Even to the level of how you light yourself while recording.

Thanks! I'm using a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016), use the built-in webcam, and either the AT2020 I show in this video or a CAD u37 usb mic. We try to make CH work as best it can without needing extra expensive equipment, but I do think that getting a better dedicated microphone is a good idea for any computer audio stuff. For lighting I'd say most of the time I'm just using the normal office lighting or natural light from an open window in my home office, but every once in a while I just pivot and shine a desk lamp at my face, nothing fancy there. Other than that, I have some cheap headphones and a mouse from Amazon and that's kind of it!

Okay Samurai I have tried lighting the wall in front of me and reflect the light which works pretty well. But I do get a lot of natural light but I must say your face tracking looks a lot better. Suppose it’s just trial and error. Anyway I look forward to looking through all your videos. What you do is great!

Wow. It is crazy that you can do *all* of this (build out characters, facial mocap animation, video export, etc.) within Adobe. Very cool.

Hi Dave. Thank you so much for all the tutorials. I wish every piece of software had someone like you.
I downloaded your Dave Character and love it. But there are some things that I cannot figure out:
    - In it right arm, the elbow is tagged as "Left Elbow"
    - Even though Limb IK is applied to both the arms, they can be stretched to abnormal lengths
    Thank you so much,
    Tony.

Oh wow you're right, thanks for catching this! I'll update the puppet this week, if you download it again by Friday it should be fixed.

    • @okaysamurai
      @okaysamurai  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Ok, fixed version is up. Now I remember - I made this character before Limb IK was fully bakes, and I had to trick it into making two left arms essentially to bend the way I wanted it to. The new one should work better I hope!
