Applecross was a great road, you certainly had better views than we did last year, it was raining and very overcast last year with limited visibility. Ireland and Scotland both have stunning scenery but are also very different.
Yeah we were very fortunate with the weather that day and had fantastic views 😊. Yeah that’s true, each uniquely stunning.
It’s a character building road alright. The fish & chips at the end are worth it. Great filming guys.
1972 I went to the 'School of Adventure', in Applecross, Amundsen Watch AX65. We went there in coaches, and these had a bit of difficulty negotiating the hairpin bends so we all had to get out and push them round!
We arrived at the SoA and were greeted by a group of instructors, lined up, all in army uniforms and green berets. We were suitably impressed!
Thanks so much! It’s definitely a challenge at times, but we’re loving every second of it. Pushing coaches around hairpin bends must’ve been an experience to remember.
The mysterious 'Isle Of Skye' you're looking at at 13:00 is actually Raasay and the table top hill on it is called Dun Caan. The small Island to the North of Raasay is Rona.
Yes correct although I'm sure one can catch a glimpse of Skye behind them too 👍
Don't know how many times over the last half century or so I've been over the Bealach but I never tire of it. Going over to work at 4am in the summer is spectacular. Lots of family and friends in Lochcarron and Kishorn. The oil rig yard at Russell in Kishorn was where the Ninian Central platform was built in the 70's by Howard Doris. Now Kishorn Ports Ltd they repair and recycle rigs and boats. Spent many a long happy summer at my grandparents in Kishorn and Lochcarron before that. Can remember Kishorn before the yard was built.
We can imagine as i's a fantastic stretch of road. Wow at 4am it must be magical 😊 Sounds like you have many fond memories of this place, thanks for watching and we will catch you in the next one 😎👍
Wonderful running commentary with excellent audio which stands out a mile. I have cycled this route and was blown away with it's beauty. Thank you for sharing your experience
Thanks very much and we appreciate you noticed 😊 -Audio is difficult to get right but well worth the effort. Must be a great route to cycle! Thanks for watching
Those drone shot are fantastic, truly superb.. Well done, what a great team you guys have.
Thanks ever so much, yeah it’s a great combo -Emily flies the drone from the pillion seat 😎👍🏻
It is one of the best scenic roads in Scotland when you get it quiet , last time i went across, it was like the M9 ... love the drone footage..
Yeah it sure is! Fortunately it was nice and quiet in May 😊
Thanks very much, here’s the full playlist and each episode features a drone montage or two 😊

Great footage you two! Your cinematography took me back to my time on the Applecross peninsula last year, and I can't wait to get back. A place of beauty, peace and simplicity. Ride safe follks!
Hi Jim, thanks very much! Really nice to hear you enjoyed the video and wea re very happy to bring back memories of your time on the Applecross peninsula. It's for sure one of those places that we feel we need to go back to 😎👍
Hi both, must say a very technical road superbly handled not easy especially two up. I absolutely love touring Scotland especially the west coast, and as you so rightly said you must do the western isles one day, starting with Arran working north finishing with Outer Hebrides , simply stunning. cant wait till you see the white sands and turquoise seas around Sutherland county coastline. Thank you.
Hi Stephen, thanks! yeah the road’s surface mid corner was an extra surprise but all good 😄.
The West Coast is truly spectacular -even more than we thought it would be. Looking forwards to the day we return to explore the Isles.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave an encouraging comment 😎👍🏻
Think the most dangerous rd is the A9 , but lovely clip !! was there few weeks back
Could be 😉
Hope you enjoyed it 😎👍🏻
All your video's are absolutely outstanding, I can imagine that the editing takes an incredible amount of time to make, even just one episode, but dam there worth it. Nothing more to add; there simply "BREATHTAKING".
Hi Mark, thanks ever so much. Yeah a fair bit of work goes into filming and editing these but grateful comments like your own really make it all worthwhile. Thanks again 😎👍
Doing my scotland tour in 2 weeks. Can't wait for this bit! Amazing guys!!
Hope you enjoy it! It’s an amazing ride!
Hope you get the weather Andrew.
cool😎 one for the bucket list👍
Definitely! So many great roads in the UK! th-cam.com/play/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31.html&si=iJvcBzLx0S3u_SdK
Brilliant video guys! Thank you so much for what must be a huge amount of work. ❤
Hi, thanks ever so much for recognising the work that goes into these, must kind encouraging comments like yours make it all the more worthwhile 😊👍🏻
Proud to be Scottish with all this on our doorstep 🙏🏼❤️🏴♥️ great video guys 👏🏻👏🏻
As you should be!! Scotland and it's people are great (apart from the people that keep pulling us up for saying Lake by accident 😂). It really must be fantastic to have all these routes on your doorstep, there's so many routes and places we didn't have time to explore that we must come back again. Glad you liked the video and thanks for your kind words 😎👍
Stunning scenery 😮 Applecross Pass looks brilliant.🏍💨⛰️😃
It really was! 😊
New subscriber! Fantastic videos. Your cinematic drone shots following the bike give an absolutely epic perspective!
Hi Brian, thanks very much! Yeah Emily does an awesome job of piloting the drone from the pillion seat 😊.
We hope you enjoy the channel and thanks for your encouraging comment 😎👍🏻
Loch Kishorn has the oil rig repair and manufacturing site that you passed. In the mid 1970s it built the world’s largest oil rig that was actually build using concrete. Build by the Ninian group, then pulled out and round the top of Scotland and out to the North Sea. My dad was at Kishorn in 1975 building it. We were up there last December staying in Lochcarron and did the pass.
Ahh thanks, actually we forgot to look that up. Never actually seen an oil rig that close to shore -they are gigantic! Must have been a great project to work on -fascinating! 😎👍🏻
I´m lost for words. Looks like a road to remember for a long time😊
Hi Johan, this was an awesome ride! And we still had another incredible ride after this! 😊
Skillful, confident riding and pillion work there guys, on what looks like a very technically challenging pass. Probably no big deal for you both, having the Alps in your own back garden!😊 Drone footage of this stunningly wild Scottish landscape, was simply superb. Thanks again and looking forward to your next upload. Take care for now.
Sean is an incredible rider. Very impressive what he does.
Hi David, thanks very much! Yeah the alps certainly helped to prepare -but the road surface was a bit rough in places!
Glad to hear you liked the footage 😎 and Scotland is magnificent 😊
Thanks for watching and catch you in the next one 👍🏻
The coastal road from Applecross to Sheildaig is also a very good road to drive, very technical.
Hi Stevie, that part of the route will be in Saturday's episode - it was magnificent!! The views were spectacular! Thanks for watching 😎👍
Awesome episode, thank you Sean & Emily!! 👍👍
Hi Nelio, thanks! This pass was awesome, lot's of fun and wonderful scenery thrown in too. Thanks as always for watching 😎👍
I have crossed the pass a few times, each time is as enjoyable as the first time, great video.
Thank you! It really is a great ride! 😊
Stunning, especially the shots of the Isle of Skye. Thank you again.
Yeah it really is! Everyday there’s another fantastic vista. Skye looks amazing, we are hoping to come back just to visit the islands. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for your comment 😊👍🏻
One of my favourite rides, best coming in the other direction after a caffeine hit at Applecross before going over the top. Well done guys
Yeah it's a great one! Will have to try it the from the other direction next time 😎👍 Thanks!
We’re just doing the NC500 as I type. We drove over Applecross last night and stayed at the Hostel in Applecross, first time I’ve ever stayed in a hostel and it wasn’t too bad but I did have a en-suite family room because I like to think I’m posh. 😂 I was amazed at how many deer there were on the Pass. 👍
Oh nice one! 😎👍🏻 Hope you’ve having a great ride.
Haha nice! Well the en-suite room is good for a posh first hostel experience 😊 maybe the 12 bed doom next time 😉🤣.
Oh really, we didn’t see one on the pass. Enjoy the rest of your trip 👍🏻
@@SeanandEmily We easily saw 30 or 40 deer in the space of 30 minutes. They must have been hiding when you went over. 😂
No way!!! Emily is officially jealous of your Applecross experience 🤣
Stunning footage lads , myself and a couple of friends are heading that way middle of September, spinning over from Dublin ,
Thanks again for sharing your adventures 👍👏🫡
Cheers Tony! That sounds great, you will have a good laugh and some awesome rides! -Tip: don’t accidentally call a loch a lake otherwise you will get all sorts of grief 🤣
You’re welcome! Will upload the route to the comments tomorrow in case you need it. 😎👍🏻
Itchyboots left a gap. Delighted you were so complimentary about the Wild Atlantic Way. If you visit the East of Ireland, cracking mountain drive between Hollywood (the original) and Glendalough. The Glen is very scenic and the remains of a 1000 year old monastic village can be seen. Its a well know motorcycling route, and all the guys and girls congregate at weekends in Lynhams Hotel in Laragh or the nearby cafe and exaggerate the angle of lean they get to going over the Wicklow gap. Be delighted to get you a decent coffee because of the enjoyment I'm getting from the videos!
Hi, yeah we left Ireland on a high and enjoyed all of it! Shame we didn’t have time to visit the East coast on this occasion but for will be back at some point to see the parts we missed so thanks for the tip! Great to hear you enjoy the videos and we look forwards to that coffee with you 😊
Dramatic music an even more dramatic road with the a well handled bike and stunning views...wonderful!
Thanks very much for your words of encouragement we really appreciate your comment 😎👍
Another good one ! Great drone footage as usual. I’m afraid that despite the pass being a ‘go to’ for lots of bikers - it is a pretty poor riding surface, and the hairpins are extremely nadgery. (You possibly fluffed the first hairpin, not surprising - you need the corner speed to haul the bike upright, but the surface tells you to go slow). The residents of Applecross would be delighted to be known as a town, but it is a very small village. The Applecross Inn is apparently still a fantastic place for meals (when you can get in!). When was the video shot? I ask because the rig that is in the drydock at Kishorn was partially demolished a couple of months ago. That yard was the one used to build Ninian Central production platform - around a third of a million tonnes in weight. Now it does occasional maintenance on drilling rigs and decommissioning (as it was doing when you passed). Keep it up - I always look forward to your vlogs.
Thanks! Yeah the road surface is pretty poor lol 🤣 Very used to riding mountain roads where we live in Switzerland but the road surfaces are perfect, this was more like an Italian road 😄.
Thanks for the info, those Oil rigs are huge! Thanks for watching 😎👍🏻
Wow. Amazing drone footage again 👏 I need back here ASAP
Get yourself down there ….it’s Friday after all! 😎👍🏻 Thanks
@@SeanandEmilywish I was closer, had more time to get out, and better weather 😂
True that 😉👍🏻
great video guy's applecross is something else keep enjoying your Scotland journey 📹👍🍻
Thanks very much! Great to hear you enjoyed it so thanks for leaving a comment 😎👍🏻
Bringing back some great memories..! I need to go back again…. Some great drone footage of AppleCross..! Great road… Great fun…! 🏴
The West coast is lovely.. Some cracking roads…! 🤟🏼😎
Happy to bring back memories! Watching this back we already want to go back again!
Totally agree with you, the West coast it where it's at! 😎👍
A truly epic road - I’m surprised that Applecross is not a one way route. I realise that Emily is a lightweight but you managed the bike extremely well on that section Sean. Another great video with magic scenery and almost no rain.
They couldn't really make it one way as it's the route the locals use and the only other way out of applecross would entail a 30 to 40 mile detour. Delivery lorries manage it fine, including the articulated petrol tanker, I think the issues come due to people not looking far enough ahead to anticipate what's coming.
Hi Brian, yeah it really is an epic road! There's plenty of passing points on the Hairpins (although i wouldn't want to have to stop mid corner lol)
Thanks very much, living near the swiss alps i guess we get a lot of practice on these types of roads and Emily is a great pillion.
Glad you liked the episode and it was great that it stayed dry for this section of road 😎👍
Really enjoyed this, as with all your videos, I've never been on the Applecross pass, definitely one for the future, Brill as always Sean and Emily.
Hey Tim, Yeah one for the list for sure - views from the top are spectacular! 😎👍
The oil rig, Northern Producer, has just been toppled in a controled demolition in the dry dock there (videos on youtube). Its quite a unique dry dock in its construction, quarried into the shoreline. The pass is a great road, but i prefered the next section so looking forward to the next episode!
Oh really so what we saw had been decommissioned? Guessing those rigs get a hard life out in the sea water.
Yeah the pass was great but as you say the next section of road was spectacular and the rain just about held off 😊
@@SeanandEmily th-cam.com/video/lpKMvVWCZyE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sM6MLJ_iD7QDDgVY
looks like something out of Starwars!
You really missed out by buzzing through and not stopping in Loch Carron village and getting lunch. Lovely place to visit.
Had 8500 Km to cover in less than 4 weeks, so no time to stop for lunch each day (or budget). But yeah you’re right it looked like a lovely place to spend a few hours so thanks for your suggestion 😎👍🏻
@@SeanandEmily Maybe next time. 😃
For sure 👍🏻 (our next time list is ever growing 😄)
...and the last petrol for a long way.
Ahhhhh....brings back memories from when me and my mates did a tour many years back. You can t beat the west coast of Scotland for scenery especially if you get descent weather. But I'm totally biased 😁
Must have been a good laugh that trip 😎 We have to agree with you on that one, the west coast is spectacular and with great weather even more so! ...some great weather coming up 😉
Hi U2, thanks form the pass ride, been there this August, didn’t make it there. The same like 2 years ago when at Nordkap I didn’t make it inside the visitor center and saw it in your video. We did the NC500 counterclockwise though the weather wasn’t as nice as April. Cheers Michael
Hey Michael, glad you enjoyed the pass ride it was a great one for sure. I hear doing the NC500 contraclockwise is a good idea in peak seasons as it gets busier in the other direction.. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks 😎👍
Perfect ride again. Beautifull drone shots. Really enjoyed it.😎👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Slowly edging forward is what both vehicles are supposed to do at passing places.
Great footage my uncle used to speak of this road but I have never been over it.
Probably easier to just let them pass as there isn't really room for two vehicles in some of those sections 😉
You should go experience it for yourself if you get the opportunity 😎👍
So pleased I found this channel, give I great insight into places to go and see.
Hi Robert, we are glad you found the channel too so welcome 😊. We hope you find the videos useful and enjoyable - you can also find links to the routes in the comment sections or descriptions in case that is useful (which reminds me i need to add the link to this episode).
Here is the playlist of this Tour starting from Folkstone 😎👍

Fell off on that horrible off camber hairpin on the pass, avoiding a motorhome😬, it was raining and I was very tired, saved by my hard panniers and a big farmer who helped me pick it up. Stayed at the Inn, great scallops and local beer saved the day. Stunning part of Scotland, among many…
Hey Ian, oh no! So not so good memories here then -thought motorhomes weren’t allowed to use that road. Those hairpins were actually tricky at times even more so with bad weather. Glad it ended well with beer and you could carry on 😎💪🏻
@@SeanandEmily I’m good at dropping a bike especially on tour with luggage, lovely coastal route though especially from Applecross to Shieldaig, done it more than once but never been to Skye.
Scallops and local 🍺… sounds good, why slum it!
Skye is definitely on the list for next time 👍🏻
Thank you for sharing your experience. I think you enjoyed those beautiful quiet moments and that your stay at the hostel saved your day. Thank you for your message.
Hi guys great vids , love Scotland, and cracking bike 👍
Thank you! 😁
Stunning drone footage, I take that was Sean riding up and down the pass with the drone following.
Thanks, yes that's right but only on the hairpins - the rest we are riding together.
Amazing and Refreshing also
Thanks a lot
@@SeanandEmily Thank you too bro. keep it up
It's a good road and, going the way you did, I'd have stopped at the very top for that view across to Skye. So high there.
Good video, again.
It really is a great road and as you say the view from the top is beautiful. The views of Skye is fantastic and we want to go there now. Great to hear you enjoyed the video and thanks for your comment! 😎👍
Superb, loving the drone footage too!
Thanks very much, drone really gives a perspective of the area 😎👍🏻
What a great video and beautiful roads!🙌 Thanks for sharing these amazing places with us!🙏✌️✌️
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice bit of riding there, Sean. Not an easy route in places, but the scenery was lovely. Applecross is on my list. Thank you :-)
Cheers Gary 👍🏻 yeah some of those hairpins are a bit tricky at times but yeah the scenery is spectacular albeit a bit distracting 😄.
Loved the video guys. It infuriates me when people boast on social media that they drove their big motorhome on the Bealach Na Ba Pass because if the signs say you shouldn’t do it then you shouldn’t do it……simple. Your drone footage was fantastic. Keep safe. Irvine & Karen.
Irvine & Karen yeah we totally get that, we have similar thoughts when people set up camp in places that are strictly forbidden and boast about it -it's one rule for everybody and it stops the locals getting annoyed with visitors that don't respect the rules.
Really glad you enjoy the Drone footage, it adds a lot of time to the day but we think it's totally worth it 😊
@@SeanandEmily When you're flying the drone do you just take off, fly the drone, and then update the home point to save you going back to where you took off from? Is it a DJI mini 3 pro you have?
We usually just fly it to wherever we are and land it, but if we have gone some distance it's always best to reset the home point at regular intervals (we usually just land it and take off again to make sure). It's the Mini4 Pro but we did have the 3 also which produced fantastic footage too.
@@SeanandEmily Thanks - much appreciated
Thank you.
You're welcome!
First comment. Great video as usual guys. Keep up the good work
Thanks Mark!! 🥇First comment award is all yours 😎👍
Stunning photography
Glad you think so! 😎👍🏻

I used to go up the cattle pass road at least twice a week all year round in my 18 tonne truck to deliver to Applecross it cut an hour off of my journey going round . the NC 500 was my usual delivery route .i
Bravo 👏👏 That's some good driving, respect to you! You must have been a pro at it, what a lovely delivery route. Thanks for watching 😎👍
Great shots and footage as always.
Thanks! The pass looked awesome from above 😎👍🏻
Well done Sean, that's a tough enough ride 2up on the GSA, I think once is maybe enough to do Bealach na Ba.
Shieldag is just ahead of you now, beautiful little town.
Thanks, it's not so bad as long as you don't stop 😊 -could be a nightmare with traffic though. Actually had to ride it a couple of times to get both the onboard and drone shots 😀.
The ride to Shieldag is spectacular (next episode)
Shieldag😎👍
Hi guys. I am really enjoying these videos of your travels around the UK. But especially now that you're in Scotland and riding roads very familiar to me as i've ridden up there many times from the south of England. Looking forward to the next episode. Stay safe. ps. Pleased to see Sean has sorted the speedo !!
Hi, great to hear you are enjoying them still 😎 Yeah Scotland is a very special place for sure 😊🏴.
Haha yes finally got around to sorting the Speedo so I don’t have to guess and get bombarded by the speed monitors 🤣
Magnificent, wife and me loving the relaxing music with drone shots as are in all your videos
Thanks Steve and greetings to your Wife too 😊 The drone really captures the area well and gives a good overview of the area, glad you like the music choice (sometimes takes a while to find the right song)
Thanks 😎👍
Just Gorgeous . cracking filming. 🥰
It really is a gorgeous area! Thanks very much 😎👍🏻
Beautiful scenery ❤
😍😍😍
Another great video although I’m waiting for you two to have an argument
Thanks! You will be waiting a long time 😉
Absolutely beautiful country but wow the road was more like a bicycle path boy have to be on your toes 🫣😂
Hi Jeff, yeah Scotland is stunning! Believe it or not this is road is often used by locals for their daily commute! 😎👍
NIce looking pass. I must put that on my to do list. Nice video.
You should! Thanks ☺️
It’s a lot steeper on the turns than the camera gives credit for as you know but what a road, nice video
Yeah it’s a steep one, although I think the Hardknott pass in the Lake District felt steeper 🤔 but yeah a spectacular road
@@SeanandEmily agreed , Hardknott road surface worse I think which adds to the challenge
We actually had to ride Hardknott s few times to get the footage lol 😆
Epic drone shots ❤
My claim to fame is I crashed a ZZR1100 on the Applecross Pass !
I've still got the dented front wheel 😜
Thanks! glad you enjoyed them!
Oh no that must have made a horrible sound as it hit the deck! -at least it was light to pick up afterwards 😉 ...wide handlebars do make this easier. Thanks for watching 😎👍
Bealach na ba
Applecross peninsula I think is my favourite ride in Scotland 😊
Good choice!
Not far from where i live in Inverness, its such a great route through apple cross, hope you get out to Gairloch and Ullapool 😊
We take the bike to Inverness for a service on the way back down -had a nice walk through the city whilst we waited.
Yeah we stay in Gairloch this day ….had some distance still to go after the pass. The route to Gairloch was spectacular!
😎👍🏻
Great team you two!
Thank you ☺️
Nice! Here's one for your imaginations: Just about to compare sports tourers whilst having a soak in the bath 👍
Lol 😆 check out our K1600 videos …..after your bath 😉
That is a must do
It sure is 😎🙌🏻 have you ridden this one before?
@@SeanandEmily Not yet. It's on the list for sure.
Small point of interest: Only one natural body of water in Scotland is referred to as a "lake" Lake Of Menteith. The rest are referred to as "Lochs". Nice series of vids people.
Well we would probably end up calling that one a Loch 😂 Is there a reason that one is referred to as a Lake and not a Loch? Thanks, glad you like them 😊👍
@@SeanandEmilyyep just to annoy the Scot’s 😂
😂
Another fantastic video guys!! You put a lot of time and effort into these so thanks.
Ignore all the ungrateful idiots that have nothing better to say than ‘it’s not a lake’ 🤪
Thanks very much for your comment and support! I hope we don’t call lakes Lochs when we head to the Lake District 🤣
In 2009 I Got stuck in a pot hole on the last hair pin at the top while trying to get round a gritter truck, Telly star / photographer Monty Halls was right behind me in his Landie and towing his rib boat, snow is horrendous up there in winter.
We can imagine it gets treacherous up there in the winter! Glad he was there to help 😎👍
Tremendous folks and the weather will be much better from Friday onwards for a week (High pressure)
Thanks Gary! Scotland is truly spectacular 😎👍🏻
I see that many of the passing places are now tarmaced, hellish loose and rocky in the old days
That would have made things interesting to say the least! Wouldn't want to lose a foot hold that close to the edge!
@@SeanandEmily Of course, back in the day it was nowhere near as busy as it is now and folk would always give way to traffic going up. I saw that a car made you give way when you were ascending, tsk tsk Glad you enjoyed your visit :)
Yeah true that, roads are so busy today!
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time in Scotland 😊
Missed a trick not stopping at The Applecross Inn. Small pools are lochans. There is a single lake in in Scotland -does anybody want to supply the name? Is there a loch in England?
language is a funny thing - the roots of words never fail to amaze. The German word for a hole in the ground - loch. "The world is fu' o’ a number o’ hings” - St Andrew
You’re welcome, yeah true just like Arschloch 😉
The Lake of Menteith is one and Pressmennan Lake is another.
Scotland is God's country - he gave it the dodgy weather so no big companies would or could enroach and ruin it. ❤
And only those who brave the weather are rewarded with its spectacular scenery 😉
Stunning scenery. How does it compare to Ireland's WAW?
Yeah it’s beautiful! They are both fantastic and unique in their own way. The WAW is more cliffs directly into the sea so really raw and dramatic. Whereas so far this route is in and out of lots of sea inlets (must also say lochs incase people get triggered 🤣).
Wouldn’t say one is better than the other as we’ve had an amazing time riding both. 😎👍🏻
Remember guys in the UK highway Code vehicles travelling uphill are supposed to have "right of way"
Yes I think this is a universal rule in most of the world. If people kindly stop and wave us on we will gladly proceed 😊 - most people realize that it's a lot easier to stop a car with it's 4 wheels than a bike in every situation so are very courteous.
Applecross Inn, fantastic seafood pub to have lunch. You should have turned left into th village.
Unfortunately we just didn't have the time, apart from not going to the Applecross Inn we hope you enjoyed the video.
I have spoken to a number of locals over the years. I'm yet to meet one who refers to it as "Bealach na Ba'. They all call it "Applecross Pass"
Brilliant! Thanks for that 😎🙌🏻 even google maps has labelled the road Applecross pass.
@@SeanandEmily I think many TH-camrs call it BnB because it sounds good. Personally I prefer Applecross pass. Love your channel btw, way better than the itchy bits woman.
its actually the Bealach nam bo
@@yodagoat I know what people I have spoken to have said.
We just refer to it as the Bealach.
if you go to Skye then make sure you stay at the Skyewalker Hostel. Amazing place to stay!
We do plan to return to visit the Isles so thanks for the tip, what a great name for a hostel! -especially for Starwars fans like ourselves 😄
As a cyclist, I've yet to ever encounter a 'dangerous road'. But I cycled the 35 miles from Colintraive to just north of Inveraray last Friday, and I can tell you that I lost count of the number of dangerous driver and bikers I witnessed on that route.
Yeah it’s just a fun title. You’re right it’s only the people on them that make it dangerous. Pedestrians, cyclists, bikers, cars and trucks there’s always someone making thing’s hazardous to be preempted.
Hey guys, what comms do you use? your sound and voices is so clear?
Also Emily my wife wats to know do you use a balaclava under your helmet? kind regards Morne
Do you perhaps have a link for the website where you bought your comms?
Cardo Edge intercoms 👍🏻 (but audio recorded on additional mics)
Hi, no I don’t but I do wear a Buff and tuck my hair into it (braided)
We bought them from a swiss website but you can buy them everywhere. Google Cardo edge (they sell a duo pack too)
2:53 Loch Carron is relatively shallow so there are broad areas exposed at low tide - which smell fishy.
The road over the pass is not particularly dangerous - the low speeds forced by the hairpin bends mean that there are very few accidents. Most are a result of dropping a wheel into the ditch at the side of the road - leading to tyre damage and a long wait to clear the resulting backlog.
Thanks for the info. No not dangerous but can be hazardous for people when meeting oncoming traffic.
Hope you enjoyed the video and here’s the full playlist:

@@SeanandEmily How about 'exhilarating' ?
Going up the Bealach na Ba road is not that dangerous, the other side going down to Applecross can be treacherous with gusting winds, and that very nasty adverse camber left-hander 😉 Very nice dronage 👍
Nope didn't fond it very dangerous at all either, but that's what it was called in UK newspaper article 😆. But still a lovely road with spectacular views! ....guessing in the winter things can get a bit dodgy
👍👍👍 🏍️
☺️☺️☺️
I can confirm, it is a single lane pass that apple cross....😀
It is indeed! A fun one at that 😎🙌🏻
Totally different scenery again, really rugged absolutely gorgeous 😊🏴
Yeah it’s amazing how quickly the landscapes change, we absolutely love the ruggedness of Scotland 😎👍🏻
Millions of years ago Scotland & Ireland were joined together, separately England & Wales was also joined together, when the plates started shifting we crashed into England & Wales creating the British isles .
Interesting, that would explain the similarities between the giants causeway and the other rock formations in Scotland 😎👍🏻
Scotland used to be joined to North America.
I don't think the pass could be considered the most dangerous road. The road from Applecross back inland is far harder to negotiate, especially heading towards the pass, lots of nasty little up hill hairpins and blind summits/corners.
The Applecross route is definitely no joke-those blind summits keep you on edge. Both are epic in their own way!
Tornapess Hill, Applecross. Why don't you visit in January?
Probably because it would be covered in snow 😉
cant see it being the most dangerous road in scotland, try the wee track down to the lighthouse on the mull of kintyre 🤣
😂
The road was built during WWII by Italian prisoners of war. The coast road was complete by 1981 or 1982.
That’s news to me, can’t find any details about that.
Ask a local next time you're over. Prior to the end of WWII transport in and out of Applecross was by boat. Which continued for the isolated communities at the northern end until the coast road was paved, in the early 80's.
Didn’t actually see many people on that road, it was all very quiet
Wrong it is the M8 through Glasgow which is the most dangerous, constant roadworks with average speed cameras and cyclists who use the M8 who do not get stopped but then the Greens want a 30mph limit to protect them.
We take it back then 🤣
