1968 SOUTH KOREA DMZ, Camp Dodge, across the River. In our hooch we played this on our reel to reel for hours and hours. Freezing cold outside. No water to shower with. Toilets were a 55 gallon drum with a lid. Eight guys in a Quonset hut we called the hooch. For heat we used a diesel stove with some gas mixed in. I had my parents ship me an electric blanket. I gave it away when I left in January 1969. That was my life’s greatest adventure being in the army. Those were my real brothers instead of the “family” of social discards I have now.
Sgt.Megan and everyone played John Denver`s song very nicely. And I remembered this song that J.D. sang at his first consert in Japan a long time ago. At that time, I took a day off from school to go to his consert. I was moved to tears by the nostalgia. Thank you so much for the Six-String Soldiers.
If I may, I would like to request that you put LA International Airport in song list, if not there is no harm in asking, thanks for all these great songs you are singing, best regards from a Kiwi ( New Zealander) living in Australia.
Thanks to Six Strings, and too to John Denver and Peter, Paul and Mary
My husband went to sea for 25 years and he was home for about one half that. Still together and this month it will be 48 years❤

Megan has a wonderful voice! Beautifully done group!
Fitting that soldiers sing a song written about leaving for war
I did that twice Twenty two years apart. The life of a career soldier is made of that.
Thank you for your service.
Love it, great rendition. Brings back deployment memories. Almost as good as the movie version in Armageddon. 🤣
