  • @returnofthenative
    @returnofthenative 2 ปีที่แล้ว +55

    Excellent! You've done a terrific job, just so good. Love the C series loader styled radiator cowling.
    If you do another, maybe don't use the C15 as it makes its power at higher revs & it won't like what you'll be asking of it. Use the C16 instead, its much more tractable, its power is all off the bottom.
    BTW, I'm in Western Australia & retired now, but lifelong Cat fan, 3406B & 3408B to E's & right on through to C15 & C16 NZs. I ran Cat powered roadtrains out to our remote desert mines pulling triple & quad trailer configurations. Huge KW fan too, started with the W model (Aust built version of your A's) & finished with the T904s our version of your W900, but the cabs are raised apx 18 inches so consequently the bonnets are commensurately tall. This is to house the additional cooling capacity required, anyway the last model to be fitted with Cats before they were withdrawn from the market. I don't know why I'm telling you all this, but the thing is, check the C16, its a much better fit for what you want to do.

Based on tread width and axle spread gross max weight was 103,200 with the four axle pup trailer. One of my all time favorite engine transmission setup, was a little underpowered at max weight, but truck only and no pup trailer, it was perfect. Cheers.

      @@DEBOSSGARAGE I was afraid someone might get my comment wrong.
      English is not my native language and I might've expressed myself a little bit wrong.
      I meant that "all it took" was a donor truck, some shortening of the frame and a bodyshell from a Studebaker. Instead of building everything from scratch.
      I'm sure that it was plenty of work ( especially in a 2 car garage ) and took some ingenuity. After all it turned out to be pretty damn awesome.
      By no means did I intend to disrespect the vehicle nor the owner / builder or doubt that it was a lot of work.
      If it was taken as disrespectful, I apologize.

    You remind me of Jerry Reed when it comes to shifting gears in this one! But thanks for posting this one is AWESOME!

    Turbo needs t51r mod! It's so funny because the sound is 100% one of my International 9200i, but then it looks like this. Awesome build!

    You did an awesome job on this!! I think it would be cool if you were to find a 1928 school bus and convert it to a bumper pull camper to pull to events.

    I love it! I would have had to go with a 6-71 just for the classic sound for a classic ride!
