Daniel! Thank you for the amazing shapes & designs you are creating! You are a living legend & I am lucky to be alive during your shaping era! All of your boards I have ridden are magic! Aloha Bruddah 🤙🏾
Juanita's Taco Shop is one the best in the area. I love their Carnitas Burritos and Taco's. The Pastor is excellent too. You really can't go wrong at Juanitas. BTW, Tomo you're shredding. It's nice to see powerful carving surfing without having to do airs on every wave. How refreshing this video is for an older surfer like me.
I like it! Nowadays, I buy boards to cover more than one specific type of wave... Used to buy boards with some sponsor benefits that allowed for every type of scenario and they would break too often. It's a minimalistic approach these days and that board just sounds like a future beater with a better glassing schedule! That old board you can't part with and that you'll loan out for a friend. Wish I had them all back!
Any recommendation for a go to board at Zuma Beach in Malibu? I have a Tome Evo that is super fun to ride in less critical waves. Zuma is a mostly beach break closeouts. Fear snapping my Evo there.
Also, at 16-22yrs old my standard board was 6'2 2 1/4 18 1/2 . Hearing him say step up cracks me up. I am 5'10 170lbs. My List fish is 5'6, that's my shortest board. Besides my hand gun for bodysurfing Boomers in La Jolla. 🤙😉
I have a broken finger and have missed this entire swell event. Think about that for a moment. Cringing day after day hoping it would end but it didn't. The models of these storms are wall hanging material. Cruel indeed.
@@IarmadilloHD It's definitely being videoed at South Ponto. It's neither Swamis or Cardiff Reef. Swamis doesn't close out and the crowd would had been 10 times larger. This is my opinion...could be wrong.
@sunn power He's standing on the bluff at South Ponto. When the camera pans north @1:28 you can see the jetty where the water flows out to the ocean from Batiquitos Lagoon area.
Love hearing Tomo talk about his shapes. The man absolutely understands his craft and knows how to push the boundaries of design
So good! I love it when Daniel takes time to explain a design and also ride it. Keep the footage coming firewire!
Absolutely agreed! Would love to hear more discussion on the fin choices as well. This will be my next board for the bigger season in Central America!
Minimalist Vagabonds I agree! I’d enjoy hearing more about fin selection as well! The board looks amazing.

tomo's boards are the best ive ridden
3:51 interesting points on the fin set ups quad v thruster
when is the hydroshort coming out ?????? Can"t wait
Tomo's style reminds me of Taylor Knox. Very similar bottom turn, hand down as he's turning. I wonder if Taylor was favorite of his?
these comments by the shaper are great! ( specially when backed up by performance footage).
keep'em coming, Firewire!
PS: Daniel rips.
Juanita s still there...I was there in 1990 👍
Fwoar waves looked sweet! Guys we’d love to colab!! 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Either Swamis or Cardiff Reef
My bet is on Swamis. It was going off on Monday and Tuesday. Cardiff was sick yesterday too.
