Ive had the original purple for 6 years and love it till I started having recent lower back pains in the morning. This made me question the bed and noticed how much it was sagging. I reached out to purple and filed a claim under their 10 year warranty. They were super easy to deal with and stood by their guarantee honoring the claim at zero cost after i sent them photos showing the bed was sagging more than 1”. They also offered me upgrade options for the difference that I paid. I stuck with what I original purple bed and they sent a new to my doorstep a week after approval. Total turnaround was about 10-15days. Great job Purple!

Im seeing alot of people unsatisfied with the support of purple after a couple years. I have had mine since 2014, two people sleeping on it, one 250 one 200 pounds and i am still enjoying it, i dont notice any problems in the bed.
I think a lot of people don't have the right bases for these bed. I wouldn't be surprised to hear how many people use slatted bed frames or something that doesn't support the bed. I'm 6 foot 5, 300 pounds... And over the past year my hybrid premiere 4 has been outstanding
@@darkserpentcat3309 you would want to choose a base that has no slats. It needs to be a completely flay surface. purple makes one that is sturdy, and I know mattress firm does too. Basically you want something with no gaps
I appreciate the comment about purple mattress being easier to toss and turn than memory foam. I recently got a memory foam mattress and find that I don't move around as much.
We have the purple premier firm and after 8 months you can definitely feel a lack of support on the 1/3 of the mattress that I get to sleep on, my wife moves about on the other 2/3rds and the mattress it hasn't lost any firmness. I feel the difference immediately when I move to the middle of the bed. The purple mattress cover is also very slippery and even more so with water proof mattress covers the sheets slip way too much, we had to take it off. With no returns on mattress covers I am not going to experiment as I have two that slipped too much already!
currently laying on a purple mattress, honestly it is a really good bed. I mainly like it due to the unique texture of the grid. However, it is not really mind blowing, just a little different.
For me I find it to be pretty mind boggling. I’ve got a pinched muscle in my lower back and somewhere else that causes my arms to go numb. I got the bed and the really nice pillow and it’s been a pretty drastic change for me. I brought up the pinched muscle because of all the beds I tried, some made it worse and only 1 stopped it from happening getting in and out. I tried 20 Beds lol. The last 3 memory foam ones absolutely hurt way more than the rest. Still need a chiropractor but, i don’t think I’ve ever felt a bed so comfy and so lovely. I wake up less pissed off so that’s a win xD
I see people saying they have a Purple 3, 4, 5... When I look at the purple website I don't see these numbers. I was considering a current Purple Restore and Purple Restore Premier so what numbers would those be? Thank you!

The Purple beds are prone to sagging. If you have to buy a Purple buy it directly from Purple. I had lower back pain after 3 year and switched to Beautyrest Black hybrid. I almost purchased a bed from Saatva which was very comfortable as well. I expected more from such an expensive mattress.
I too am finding a sag in the hip area. I have a Purple 3 Hybrid. The grid is getting "squishy" compared to the rest of the mattress and I'm thinking of contacting Purple about the issue. Now, I've already replaced this mattress after 90 days, back in 1999 when I purchased it, the replacement is starting to sag too (replaced original in 2020). Same mattress but updated mattress cover. Interesting that others are noticing a problem with the grid softening over time.

I purchased my bed from Mattress Firm and when my bed sagged they denied my warranty. If the mattress is not purchased directly from Purple the warranty has much less coverage. I weigh 205 pounds and my last girlfriend was 5' 8'' 160. We had zero issues with the mattress or sagging. Id definitely recommend purple but you might want to try the different models in store first. If youre a side sleeper, stick with the 3. The 4 might be too soft.
I've had my Purple Hybrid 2 for over 3 years now and it has been amazing. I'm 6'4 210lbs and have received incredible relief from being a hot sleeper and lower back pain. Haven't had any of the sagging issues people claims, my partner and I we're skeptical at first but love this mattress even 3 years in.
I’ve had my purple 4 since 2021 and while I like it I do notice more than anything that periodically it has this musty smell. We have been sleeping on the premier 4 for just under a year and it is the ultimate back killer. Over time the support lags the dips do not support proper alignment. Regretting my purchase every day.
The purple 4 is a good example of how more does always equal better. It's for a very specific type of sleeper because it's on the extreme end of their softness spectrum. Just like a 1" pad might not be comfortable for most people, same goes for the 4" pad. You probably would have been happier with the Purple 3.
