watching this, i start to wonder how many actually talented actors are and were never discovered.. we all learnt what a great acting skill antony star has.
I found out about Banshee on a "underrated TV shows you've never heard of" list online. I wanted something new to watch at the time, it was in lockdown, and was seeking a really good drama, and i found it with Banshee and was surprised it wasn't more well known. Not exactly as mainstream as other shows. Controversial opinion now but its better than breaking bad, which I enjoyed so don't hate me but it is better and more up my street. As far as crime drama goes Banshee is just fucking amazing and did something very unique. I was sad when I finished it. Great brutal series, and am totally going to binge again when it's less fresh in my memory. Clay Burton in the show who worked for Kai is as scary as Homelander! Antony Starr as Lucas Hood was perfect casting to, and now on The Boys, he's epic. Guy lands the best roles.
I know the feeling man, i don't know if it's better than BB, both are on the same level IMO, although i like the brutal fights of Banshee a little more. It is certainly a crime that no one heard of this show before, it sure is an underrated diamond.
Banshee is awesome but it got alot of hate because of Job people didnt like his character cus he pushed boundaries they were uncomfortable with but job is one of the best characters on the show imo with hood and chayton
Starr did a lot of his own stunts in Banshee too, and given how many licks he takes in that show it's kinda surprising he's still walking. He's on record as saying The Boys is like an "easy desk job" for him, because he's not constantly doing psychotic stunts lol.
@@AromalBabu-c8y Breaking Bad was the Squid Game of that time, in as much as people just wouldn't stop talking about it and it was so Insanely popular. I didn't care for a lot of breaking bads filler, when it was good it was really good but I hated Skyler, Hank and Marie were the most painful thing about it, and my god I never cared about Walt Junior. Now, I appreciate that shows build up and it was amazing, Cranston was outstanding, and so many intense moments and I absolutely dug the chemistry between Walt and Jesse. I enjoyed it very much but I was never part of the insane hype. Some shows receive critical acclaim while others go completely ignored. I used breaking bad as an example I suppose, of a show that was very well known that I never brought into it in the same way. Banshee was better for me personally because all the characters in it were just insanely good and there was never a dull moment. I never felt bored watching it and it was a lot more, adult I suppose and wasn't afraid to go all out. Just a fun, short indie series that deserves more attention. Again though, Breaking Bad is fine. I agree with you on the final season. The cinematography was shlt. Looked like some college kid shot it on his Canon SLR.
So, it's basically Mad Men in the backwoods.
This guy is the real hero
1:21 "YOU STAY THE FUCK BACK! ILL LASER EVERY SINGLE FUCKING ONE OF YOU!"
man this guy sooooo good
Awww, Banshee.🥰 By far one of the most underrated series. 10/10!
Oh look, another person online who doesn't understand what "underrated" means.
He’s easily becoming one of my favorite actors, I’ve binged watched the boys several times I can’t wait for season 4
"You stay the fuck back!
Or I'll laser you dammit!!!!"
*[Homelander Intensifies]*
videos like this is why you want to always have captions enabled on TH-cam, for times like this when they're custom made by the creator. chef's kiss indeed
Antony is a brilliant actor yet i feel he’s kinda underrated for some reason. Even when hes not acting he feels like hes gonna rip your head off. Great man.
Banshee forever in our hearts ❤
I love Antony, he's one of my favorite actors. I wish he would play roles like this in more shows because he nails his persona perfectly.
If he isn't cast as a klansman at some point, I'm gonna be disappointed
Homelander and noir sweeping the streets
watching this, i start to wonder how many actually talented actors are and were never discovered.. we all learnt what a great acting skill antony star has.
0:27 thats his favorite line
There are lot of underrated series that are as good as Breaking bad, banshee is one of em along with dark
I actually really liked El Camino A breaking bad story. ! If breaking bad was that film more often, I probably wouldn't have many complaints about it.
S1 was my favorite. The way he introduces himself to the town and how people react is the best.
Name of the movie/show
@@Imbatman131 Banshee.
antony star has such a well face for a just straightup sociopath. he can display his thoughts in his face movement
Banshee was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
He’s still a stand up guy to his partner. Poor A-train then again, his partner did not run through people.
Banshee is one of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen. A must watch.
This was his audition for Homelander
Banshee was such a kickass show, over the top violence and memorable characters all around. It's worth watching at only 4 seasons.
Yesss
Such I good show, time for a rewatch!
1:22 … or i’ll laser you goddamn it
Banshee was one of my favorite tv shows that had next to no viewers. Very underrated show and rarely ever seen Anthony Starr. So when I seen that he was homelander on the boys, I was hooked.
This video convinced me to finally watch Banshee, and I am glad Indid. What a fantastic show.
0:22 bro literally just turned into Homelander, this is probably what got Anthony Starr the role of Homelander
This was the best show ever. Brutal
"he's one of us, his wife's white" I was like 'what?' then I remembered Nazi's dont like mixed races 🤣🤣🤣😭
He is such a good actor as homelander that I watched all the episodes of Banshee and realize just now that Antony Starr played in both series as a major character
Antony Starr as Homelander will be remembered for a long long time. Perfect casting.
banshee super underrated show had some really good moments
This show was simply fantastic. If you haven't seen it, please do. It will keep you entertained the entire time.
I found Anthony Starr from Homelander, but got damn I need to watch this show
edit: Also I can see Starr being a badass action star just from watching this
Banshee is great fun! Watch it asap.
Its on HBO Max
He looks at the thugs and says "You guys. *YOU GUYS* are the real heroes!"
I love love loved Banshee. Watched it all last year.
We need this guy in the action movie he just too good
Banshee is genuinely a masterpiece. Season 3 is one of the greatest seasons of television ever.
I knew it was Him right here 0:27
It’s like seeing the Villain that gave you PTSD reappear.
This dude would have made for a terrifying terminator . Rated .R . 🥶
This show was so good , I loved anthony starr in it and he's one of the main reasons i watched the boys
Oh man Banshee what an amazing show. Loved every sec of it
I got into banshee after seeing people at the boys commet section recommending the series gotta say banshee is easily one of the most underrated series ever and lucas hood man that character is straight up wolverine without the claws
I miss the nostalgia of 2013
That Nazi flag chillin in the background as he looks back is some pretty good foreshadowing/symbolism.
also stormfront
Banshee is one of the best shows out there.
Good as f*ck.
It's sad that this series didn't have as much fame considering that thanks to Banshee Antony Starr now has the emblematic fame for The Boys.
Banshee its a epic serie I hope many people get to see it sometime while the new season of The Boys premieres in 2026
Damn Banshee was one Masterpiece of a show. Most people know Antony Starr as Homelander but you gotta admit, Lucas Hood is 10 times better than that. This show is perfect in every way. The Fight scenes are insane (if you like daredevil you'll love this show just like i did). Great Cast, Great Characters, Great Story, and probably the most underrated show of all time.
Banshee is a really great show
One of the best shows that didn’t make it “big”. Was originally going to be an HBO show but they switched it to Cinemax. Glad he got a second chance a stardom.

Never thought I'd see the day where Homelander puts Johnny Sins in his place.
Now I want to see Antony in another show where he is actually a good guy, but is just as unhinged as Homelander.
Chaotic Good Hero.
