If Andy had just left the line at “get away from her!”….I would’ve been fine - but saying the whole thing with the “you bitch” just sucked me right out of the fun experience I was having - I was doing the Tyra Banks “WE WERE ROOTING FOR YOU!!” in my head. Also - Earlier in the movie Bjorn called Andy a Bitch and that’s when he replied “I prefer artificial human” or whatever (which was another callback line) so apparently that is supposed to explain how “bitch” got into his vocabulary.
When he said that in the movie... that's the first thing I thought of. He was called a bitch by Bjorn more than once. The pause was due to his 'glitch' in his vocabulary/memory. Then it comes out... '... you bitch'. If they let that be the ONE LINE from all the other films, I would have been okay with it. But there were, as we all know, just way TOO many. Someone also said 'this can't be fucking happening'... a quote from Hudson in Aliens. Geez... It's not a perfect movie, but I was on the edge of my seat - I loved it ;)
10:41 she left Andy outside the office because she hadn’t told him that she was going to leave him on the planet. If her travel was approved, he would have learned it then. That was my logic at least since we learned she “couldn’t find a way to tell him.”
Yeah the problem is that when theres new protagonists, they have to go through the same tutorial beats to get to a point. It would be cool to see it from some random weyland yutani employee perspective with a slightly different outlook trying to survive!
Andy, picked up the word bitch, because Bjorn called him that earlier in the movie. He doesn’t really know what it means, he just knows it is pejorative and delivers it in his awkward manner. I enjoyed the film and thought it was really well done for what it was. Always look forward to your reviews and opinions to get another well thought out opinion, keep it up.
Andy was my favorite character in this, but I have to say, an Alien movie without Sigourney is tough to watch, along with many other shortcomings. If you want a great slasher movie in space, try Jason X.
Initially I was a bit irritated by the CGI Ian Holm during the film even though story wise, it makes sense for a corporation to create a model line of androids. However, my opinion has shifted a bit after reading that Alverez contacted his widow and she said that he was cold shouldered by Hollywood after The Hobbit and would have wanted to be a part of this. Just a shame the execution was a bit too uncanny valley.
Ian Holm had Parkinson’s and only agreed to Hobbit if it could be done at home in in London and not NZ. He was very ill so it’s a blessing he was able to get through that. It was his last film.
I really enjoyed it! It was basically a greatest hits of 1 and 2 with forced elements of Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. It's the best we'll get and folks are still crying about it. The end answer is stop making because no one can be happy.
I really liked Caily her acting is amazing but there wasn't much of a back story as to why she is such a bad ass besides surviving on that planet. Did her father train her how did she become such a skilled warrior and really know her way around a ship. I'm glad they explained the rifle was self aiming because it's so annoying to see someone that has never shot a gun all of a sudden they are so good they should be in a 3 gun competition.
There’s also something fucked up too about Rook intoning to Andy that he was the backbone of the colonization efforts. I’m sure it was intentional though.
ok a couple of counterpoints to your criticisms: 1. rain says “that’s terrible” just to express terrible it is the guy’s mom dies, this isn’t something that needs to make logical sense. just like how we say “i’m sorry” when we hear bad news, even though it’s not our fault 2. andy says “b*tch” because that’s what the asshole dude kept calling him in the beginning of the film, so that’s what he has learned to say when he wants to intimidate someone. not that this makes the line any less forced, but they did set up a reason. all in all i personally don’t mind when characters act emotionally instead of rationally, like when they wanted andy to open the door even though it would endanger more people, just because they wanted to help their pregnant friend
It was fun but definitely kinda felt slightly rehashed and some plot elements coming a mile away. Hope that a sequel treads new ground and ideas though.
I wish I could say that I was disappointed in this film, but I already knew it was going to be schlocky, fan service pretending to be a reinvention of the franchise. You know the story of how James Cameron pitched Aliens was famously done by adding a "$" behind the word "Alien"? Well, these moronic execs took the work "alien" and tried to spell it out with only dollar signs. I really wanted to like Romulus, but it kept either falling back on the characters being too dumb or references to the better films of the series. This film was honestly worst than Prometheus and Covenant combined, as it was just a cheap, teen slasher film in space. The OG Alien was a masterpiece of not only its time, but of all-time. This film was sadly just Jojo Siwa pretending she's an adult by ripping off KISS's makeup. On a positive note, the production design, some of the effects, and the some of the cinematography was competent and decent. Then again, much of the production design was cribbing Alien: Isolation, Alien and Aliens. So, I guess we can thank Giger, Ron Cobb, & Syd Mead, ONCE AGAIN. Lastly (and most dishearteningly), I never thought in a million years they'd actually steal the ending to Alien: Resurrection... but, here we are. - 1 rotten chicken egg, out of a derelict ship full of ovomorphs.
I saw this in 4DX and I’m glad I did because this film didn’t do it for me at all. It looked fantastic but the story was non-existent for me. I thought the main actress looked like a child which made it completely unrealistic to me, even for a sci-fi film. How did she know how to do everything? She had way too many survival skills for my belief. At no point did I feel like she was not going to survive for a sequel. The best part of the film was that human faced thing because it was just awful upon awful and way more scary just standing there with that face than any insect looking alien in any of the films. I wouldn’t recommend this film to anyone except diehard Alien fans, but they would be going opening day anyway. Evil Andy was a highlight, but I didn’t find many. Not for me. Love u guys! Great review as always.
This movie was mid 5/10, people are praising it lol like it’s the best thing ever, the cast and acting was so mundane, I couldn’t get invested, the final boss creature was good for 2 seconds, it quickly lost its luster the more it was on screen, it feels like a soft reboot, thanks for telling the truth on this movie, great review guys!
Yes, it's definitely a 5 or 6. It was all the alien movies in one. Sorta like a love letter to the original. It would be cool to see the backstory of weyland yutani in a new alien installment.
omg yes, i was internally panicking and wishing i had subtitles. i was hoping i didn’t miss any crucial info and i guess i did because i didn’t catch that bjorn and tyler + kay are cousins 😭
Gotta go to Yugoslavia and watch the sun rise from a Vegan Bookstore! LOL! So funny. I thought this was a fun popcorn flick, but the character development was taking me out of it. None of these kids struck me as people who had lived a hard life in space mines and had grown up watching their friends and loved ones die. I expected them to be more hardened and still be able to function after someone died. When Navarro accidentally kicked the gear shift and the ship was spinning out of control, not a single person tried to get control of the ship... not even the autopilot kicked in. Also, why crawl around all quiet if once you get to the other side of the room you are gonna start yelling, "Hey guys!" I have no idea how Kay survived for as long as she did. Girlfriend couldn't find keys on a floor that literally had nothing on them but the keys!! She reminded me of the girl in the pink sweater from All of Us are Dead who kept falling and just sitting there when everyone was running for their lives. I kept saying to myself, "OMG, Pink Sweater, get it together!" Girlfriend was a liability.
If Alien and Aliens 2 had not been made and Romulus was the first in the franchise, then it would have been good. But, I saw the same set from previous movies, especially Resurrection. Not original at all. I would have appreciated more attacks from the Xenomorphs against the crew like in previous films and more xenomorphs. After all, it is an Alien film. I guess the production ran out of money. 🤷🏽♀️
I wanted to love this movie as I am a long time fan of Alien and Aliens. I wish they had given more time to develop the cast and characters. I want a story about people in an impossible situation and just trying to survive/get out alive. I think Alien(s) works best has a sci-fi horror where you are concerned for the characters and thru the course of the movie they have some kind of personal growth or character development.
You know why Fede made that quote about the younger cast, cast young to attract young but you have all these "film geeks" who watch the first and revere the first, that is a very mature cast If it looks good ppl will see
I caught this yesterday w a friend at a very cool old theatre in Brattleboro, VT. We enjoyed it. I just wish Fassbender made even a small appearance because he was a fantastic villain. Covenant was meh, but the ending was thrilling. Thanks guys. Edit: Andy was definitely the best part of the film.
I definitely agree that they should have leaned more into Andy and Rain's relationship and the thematic question of whether an android can see a human as family if a human sees them as that. It would have made more sense for Andy to have been an android Rain's father built after losing their adopted son to Cancer or something like that - which would then explain why Rain has this emotional connection to it, even if it's just a replicated version of her brother, the last connection to her family she has left. Instead of the ridiculous callback to Ripley's line from ALIENS, they could have had Andy roar "LEAVE MY SISTER ALONE!" and it would have answered that thematic question and also allowed it to be its own moment unique to Romulus instead of trying to invoke a moment from that much better previous movie. I really hate it when filmmakers do that if the character has no connection to that line (it hadn't even been said in the timeline yet either since this film takes place before the events of ALIENS). During the long pause I was yelling in my head "DON'T SAY IT DON'T DO IT FEDE NOOOOOO!" and then I just facepalmed. I also definitely wish they hadn't done the CGI resurrection when Lance Henriksen in prosthetics would have been more interesting and ethical - or just a role for a new actor that we have no existing knowledge to indicate what their allegiance or intentions might be. The character name was Rook instead of Bishop, so they even had a name that was more aligned with Henriksen's. Very strange to do something so divisive that was always going to give some people the ick.
I wish the bit about “Androids will sacrifice some miners to save more,” would have made an interesting conflict. I thought Rain would get infected with a Chestburster, but then the movie would be about Andy agonizing over whether or not to save his friend.
The welfare office! LOL. I was waiting for your review! I saw this today. It was fine but I felt no dread or tension and that's what I missed (along with Ripley). The call backs to the other films was cute but there was so many. I gave it 3.5. I thought the score and sound were great.
I actually ended up loving this film so much! I feel like this is a great introduction for people in the Alien franchise, which included me and now Im excited get into it. I only played Alien Isolation which is one of my fav games. For Romulus, I felt the satisfaction and joy of watching a classic which I rarely feel. I love how things they establish come into play later aswell.
I think this movie is great for people who haven't watched the other Alien films. Many complaints are from people like me who are big fans of the series and have seen all the movies. It was a lot of rehashing going on.
I'm more around a 2 out of 5 on this one but I'm glad you guys didn't just rave about it the way so many others are. This film was NOT the kind of fun thrill ride I was expecting at all. My God, the first 40 minutes dragged on forever because I didn't care about any of the characters at all, even though I am becoming a Cailee Spaeny fan. Final 30 minutes were worthwhile and yes, the film did look good but...in all honesty...I had more fun with the original AVP than this.
@@zacgale4231 AVP was unpretentious, mindless popcorn fun. It aimed to be that and accomplished it. Romulus is trying to be everything an Alien fan ever wanted...but has already seen. I was bored until the final half hour. Very bored.
OMG! Nick I literally said the same thing! The sim needed to be white or the girl needed to be black. He gave the “magical negro” trope. It gave me an ick. 1. I was like is he autistic… and why would he be? If he was; why not get an autistic actor… that train of thought started down a problematic path. It was very “the green mile.” Then he got an upgrade and it seemed like her main goal was to bring him back down to where he was kissing her ass. It was weird. Like ppl are dying and her only concern was changing him back to having issues so she could control him. The actor as the sim did a phenomenal job. Have yall seen “Raised by wolves” by Ridley Scott on appletv. His characterization seemed identical to the character “Father” on that show, down to the Dad jokes. And the aliens didn’t seem ferocious enough… like they was just knocking them around. Easy to beat. And the aliens were damn near pornographic! That thing flopping around! I gagged! No pun intended!😂😂🫣🫢😵💫
I agree. I also didn't find it scary. It was cool to see and there were tense moments but overall, it didn't invoke any fear. It could be because I didn't care about any of the characters. LOL
I felt like the xenomorph was a decoration in this movie, and the facehugger was the main antagonist focus, which felt weird to me. I missed any kind of “characterization” of the xenomorph. I also found the hybrid design to be weird in a bad way. It didn’t quite look as a whole like it fit in the visual style of the alien universe.
At 3:05, thank you! Maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention to the promotional material, but I had no idea whether or not this movie was a prequel, sequel, reboot, or whatever. This context is very helpful 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The only film reviews I need are Nick’s facial expressions. He’s such a good writer to boot. Perhaps his written reviews should have a facial expression/photo to start each paragraph. ❤
I do agree that the franchise star is Sigourney and the title is a double entendre that Ripley is the alien in each situation of the films she stars in. I did love this movie even though the last surprise was a really weak design and needed to go back to the drawing board. I give the film 8/10.
The movie completely recycled Alien 1-3, even using the lines. Then ended with Resurrection / Prometheus. Pure crap. Could have been good if they leaned into Alien Isolation plot.
I saw the movie Saturday night and loved it, but I'm really just here waiting for Joseph to talk about the xenomorphs' wigs 😂. And they didn't go to Yugoslavia; It was Virginia 😅.
I was hoping the hybrid would be the Newborn from Resurrection, lol. When that acid blood went through the floor, I though they were going to do it the same way. It was sorta creepy at first, but when they revealed the full body of the creature it just looked dumb. In general they expose the creatures too much too early. I get it, we all know what the xenomorph looks like now, but I still prefer some mysetry for the sake of dramatic buildup.
@@1UpJohn That's the other thing. The chest burster cocooned itself and turned into a fully grown drone in what seemed like minutes. The cocoon scene was cool, but it bugged me how quickly this went. Same with the chestburster in the first place. It felt rushed.
I totally agree. I kept thinking ‘what’s missing?’ Ripley was missing They could have had the heroine become a full tilt ass kicker like Ripley. It was a mistake not to.
Appreciate one of the more in depth and honest reviews, i agree with many valid points. I did enjoy the ride if i don't think too much about it even though inevitably it's a bit derivative and some characters aren't that likeable. But the atmosphere, tension, world buildup, score, and practical effects were all excellent and make up for it. There were a lot of nods, like Ash, etc, the famous Ripley line by Andy got the whole audience cheer and clapping since it's iconic, but it's not based on context like you said unfortunately. Really makes me wonder what kind of alien movie neill blomcamp would've made.. this is still a worthy effort even though it's far from perfect.i saw it twice lol
Great review as always😊! I had another thing about the movie that no one else picked up on….the unborn baby’s father. It must be the cousin. When asked about the father, she replied some @$$hole. The cousin was referred to as an @$$hole throughout the film. They also shared a weird glance when they reunited. He also went OD in protecting her that cost him his life…maybe a stretch but she was only around the brother and cousin. When the brother found out, he didn’t look happy…IMO. So maybe the incestuous hybrids had to die🤔
Yeah I totally felt like the film hints at Bjorn the asshole being the father, but only now did it hit me that he is her cousin. Makes sense because the other guy (Tyler?) mentions he is his cousin, and Tyler is her brother. Only way it wouldn't be incestuous is if she and Tyler are only half siblings, and Bjorn is Tyler's cousin but not hers.
She seemed to be pretty aware that they were going to have to sacrifice Andy from the get go, as we learn later on- which is strange because this mission was never hers to go on. Her self-worth is in the basement I guess for this team of guys whom we never get to know. There seems to be a lot of the film and some additional, kind of fucked up depth to Rain’s character that got left on the cutting room floor. I would have liked to see that- her complex relationship with her friends and her brother instead of just seeing him as basically a beautiful, sad dog. There was a more interesting film here that got chopped up and replaced with a bunch of silly callbacks that made me cringe. Hope there is a director’s cut. Also, Rook was an animatronic- not cgi. They may have touched it up a bit- but it was on set. You can see in its facial movements.
@@1UpJohnthat’s what I’m guessing too. There were several moments that seem like they were referencing scenes or moments that weren’t in the final cut.
I don't understand why you need to wink at the audience in a franchise that millions of people have seen, and contains movies on millions of people's top ten all time lists. It only results in an eye-roll. Wink at the audience in some obscure cult movie sequel.
That black goo was reversed engineered from the big chap alien weyland yutani caught within that meteorite . You see the imprint of the big chap alien in the metoerite and we now know the alien cocooned itself . It came back to life and killed everyone in the space station until it was killed by security .but the acid blood burned through most of the ship . This was all explained by rook the damaged synth who looked like ash
I think it had a few flaws but was a solid film. So much better than Covenant. I think this was a good start to create a trilogy set in between Alien and Aliens. They did the nods to the first two but now they have freedom to go in a totally different direction than the other films
As for that slap scene, We have to acknowledge that Humans do get emotional at times. The slap was probably trying to showcase the emotional vulnerabilities of human beings making irrational decisions that would put the whole group in jeopardy..
I wanted to connect with the characters more. This is a problem most horror movies face, that their characters are just there to make dumb decisions and get killed off. But I will say the decisions these characters made didn’t come across as dumb/illogical the way the characters in the last two Ridley Scott movies in this franchise were handled….they seemed like they were making decisions based off impulse but not quite as dumb as most movies of this nature portray their characters Personally I had a good time with it, it could’ve been better but I’d give a 3.5/5
I agree with both of you. I was expecting more based on the reviews I has listened to. There's nothing here that would make me want to watch it again. It's fine but apart from Andy, the other characters are unmemorable. It sets the bar low and gets over it fairly easily. It's all about the scares. Other Alien movies give us more than that.
Andy was definitely the best part. His sad faces broke my heart.
It's crazy how every actor for the androids in this series (except Winona) is absolutely amazing.

'... you bitch'. If they let that be the ONE LINE from all the other films, I would have been okay with it. But there were, as we all know, just way TOO many. Someone also said 'this can't be fucking happening'... a quote from Hudson in Aliens. Geez... It's not a perfect movie, but I was on the edge of my seat - I loved it ;)
Dude, I remembered that, and I saw it only once. Lol.
@@thedmvoutdoors I believe Bjorn was the one that said "This place gives me the creeps." A callback to Parker from Alien.
10:41 she left Andy outside the office because she hadn’t told him that she was going to leave him on the planet. If her travel was approved, he would have learned it then. That was my logic at least since we learned she “couldn’t find a way to tell him.”
I just thought they used younger people because it's a Disney,-umbrella film and they wanted to sell to a young audience.
"cryo chamber headed to Yugoslavia" got me real bad
I’m really surprised to see the amount of hate for this film.. I thought it was a blast.
@@zacgale4231 Agreed. Fans just love the second and first films so nothing else will make them happy.
We could get better. We could get better writing and original storytelling.
@@rmjmoviereviews6876 I think an original story would make them happy. Not much to ask for a 7th installment in a series.
I also didn’t like how she treated Andy in the beginning, she treated him like a dog.
There’s also something fucked up too about Rook intoning to Andy that he was the backbone of the colonization efforts. I’m sure it was intentional though.
What an epic review. You two are so sharp. Nothing will match the first two classics.
The movie is an ALIEN pinball machine!!!!!.. and the audience is the ball!
it was literally a hodgepodge of all the alien/prometheus tropes
ok a couple of counterpoints to your criticisms:
1. rain says “that’s terrible” just to express terrible it is the guy’s mom dies, this isn’t something that needs to make logical sense. just like how we say “i’m sorry” when we hear bad news, even though it’s not our fault
2. andy says “b*tch” because that’s what the asshole dude kept calling him in the beginning of the film, so that’s what he has learned to say when he wants to intimidate someone. not that this makes the line any less forced, but they did set up a reason.
all in all i personally don’t mind when characters act emotionally instead of rationally, like when they wanted andy to open the door even though it would endanger more people, just because they wanted to help their pregnant friend
It was fun but definitely kinda felt slightly rehashed and some plot elements coming a mile away. Hope that a sequel treads new ground and ideas though.
“switch it up, or stay in line.”
my new motto
TL; DR. I liked it a lot.
Madonna’s “Rain” is so underrated.
I LOVED this entry to the Alien franchise! Very excited for what comes next
The dialogue was hard to hear at many parts and the British accents didn’t do any favors.
100% agree
Definitely. Especially that Bjorn character…I think I understood maybe two or three sentences that came out of his mouth
omg yes, i was internally panicking and wishing i had subtitles. i was hoping i didn’t miss any crucial info and i guess i did because i didn’t catch that bjorn and tyler + kay are cousins 😭
Bjorn and Navarro were also giving “friends at best” lol.
Some showings at AMC have their movies with subtitles.. that’s the only way I watch movies now.. that way I don’t miss anything.
I very much enjoyed this film. The main actress is my new movie boo.
Watch her in Devs.
Clicked so fast , I was waiting for this
We actually saw how the black goo mutated life forms in Prometheus
I liked it. It was an homage to all the alien movies. I can also see why avid alien fans wouldn't like it as much. David Jonsson is a damn good actor!
This is funny but when Nick said Sigourney I was like, you know we can't take you seriously if you're gonna bring up Sigourney! 🤣🤣
What's wrong with sigourney?
@@24AntDad Nothing. Lol. It just sounded like he wanted to celebrate Sigourney and I was like girl that is giving petty but also funny. 🤣
Like he worked at a vegan bookstore. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Oddly specific and hilarious! I'm going to add this to my repertoire.
The dude that played the offspring is real, he is from my home town, I saw him in the gym a few years ago, he is very very tall.
I've been waiting for this one. Bring it!
Nick: Also my brother said he was rooting for the Xenomorphs because he doesn't like young people. LOLOL
I really think A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE did a great job of that by comparison.
@@chazharris True!
You know why Fede made that quote about the younger cast, cast young to attract young but you have all these "film geeks" who watch the first and revere the first, that is a very mature cast
If it looks good ppl will see
When Joseph said," The gang" I immediately went to this being an episode of Always Sunny. Lol
I've been checking/waiting for this since Thursday!👏
I definitely would have preferred Rain to be played by a Black actor as well- it would’ve made the Master/ Synthetic dynamic less icky, too. 22:29
I didn't pick up on that, that's a good point
Do you remember when blockbuster the only way they divide it up films were suspense, thriller, action, and horror for genres?
First 40 minutes dragged? Are you kidding? They do need to establish the world and characters.
more fun with AVP? Wow… that movie is HOT HOT trash.
@@TheFadingMan Yeah. It would've been weird if it went straight to aliens killing people within the first 5 minutes. 😆
@@TheFadingMan We know the world and none of these characters needed to be established. Same old cookie cutter characters and dialogue.
@@zacgale4231 AVP was unpretentious, mindless popcorn fun. It aimed to be that and accomplished it. Romulus is trying to be everything an Alien fan ever wanted...but has already seen. I was bored until the final half hour. Very bored.
I actually thought it was top four of all aliens movies
Wow, this really makes me appreciate Sigorney deeply…
This wasn’t scary at all
I agree. I also didn't find it scary. It was cool to see and there were tense moments but overall, it didn't invoke any fear. It could be because I didn't care about any of the characters. LOL
There was one moment when the offspring appears out of the shadow, like he kinda unfurl s itself like an alien does... Few seconds but it was scary XD
Are you really expecting to be that scared in the 7th entry? You kinda know what to expect in a way
I felt like the xenomorph was a decoration in this movie, and the facehugger was the main antagonist focus, which felt weird to me.
'Headed to Yugoslavia' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The only film reviews I need are Nick’s facial expressions. He’s such a good writer to boot. Perhaps his written reviews should have a facial expression/photo to start each paragraph. ❤
For once I saw the movie before your spoiler review.
Almost to 40! Bravo gentlemen!
I do agree that the franchise star is Sigourney and the title is a double entendre that Ripley is the alien in each situation of the films she stars in.
I did love this movie even though the last surprise was a really weak design and needed to go back to the drawing board. I give the film 8/10.
I agree with you both. Perfectly said
The movie completely recycled Alien 1-3, even using the lines. Then ended with Resurrection / Prometheus. Pure crap. Could have been good if they leaned into Alien Isolation plot.
Vegan bookstore… you crack me up 💀🤣🤣
Not the welfare office 10:27 😂
I saw the movie Saturday night and loved it, but I'm really just here waiting for Joseph to talk about the xenomorphs' wigs 😂. And they didn't go to Yugoslavia; It was Virginia 😅.
She left Andy outside the "welfare office" so he wouldn't find out that he couldn't go. The lady behind the glass would've said something.
I agree. The ending felt rushed. It was a baby one second and fully grown a second later and in clear sight. No tension or mystery.
@@1UpJohn That's the other thing. The chest burster cocooned itself and turned into a fully grown drone in what seemed like minutes. The cocoon scene was cool, but it bugged me how quickly this went. Same with the chestburster in the first place. It felt rushed.
I totally agree. I kept thinking ‘what’s missing?’
Ripley was missing
They could have had the heroine become a full tilt ass kicker like Ripley.
I enjoyed this movie! I love your reviews! You two are hilarious and so original with your feedback! ❤
10:26 Not the welfare office! 😂😂
great review gents love you guys too bits keep it up❤
So does this mean the Queen that was shot out the airlock in Aliens is still alive floating in space somewhere?
I hope the director's cut will be 20 minutes long.
@@cineffect you think the movie should be reduced to a short film? That’s what TH-cam is for.
It's strange that she knew Andy would have to be sacrifice when that was not spoken about before they took off. I guess it got cut from the film.
Always love your reviews much love and blessing Sent your way
I think it had a few flaws but was a solid film.
But I will say the decisions these characters made didn’t come across as dumb/illogical the way the characters in the last two Ridley Scott movies in this franchise were handled….they seemed like they were making decisions based off impulse but not quite as dumb as most movies of this nature portray their characters
Personally I had a good time with it, it could’ve been better but I’d give a 3.5/5
I agree with both of you. I was expecting more based on the reviews I has listened to. There's nothing here that would make me want to watch it again. It's fine but apart from Andy, the other characters are unmemorable. It sets the bar low and gets over it fairly easily. It's all about the scares. Other Alien movies give us more than that.
