I've surfed from the mid 1960s and am in awe of the way you surf these huge waves. Poetry in motion.
You can see all the hard work from so many disciplines coming together … short board, big wave, strap board, paddle and tow in. Amazing riding! You’re not only looking super comfortable on these monster waves but are reading and riding it like nobody else👌🏻. Also hats off to the crew for capturing and editing all of this in closeup, slo mo etc for us to enjoy 🙏🏼

Best I've ever seen un terms of diagnosing the wave and staying ahead of it. Some athletes just see the play before anyone else does. Montana, Jordan, Ali, Gretzky, etc. This is generational talent leading the pack.
The new generation of surfing is shown in this video : doing cut-backs, bottom-turns and aerials in giant-Poseidon waves as if the wave was 10 times smaller like at Hossegor ! Laird Hamilton can be proud to give the hand to the upper-level of surfing. You surf as if you were in the X-Games ! When I am in a huge wave I just go straight and pray to survive from it and be fed with unreal memories that I need to feel powerfully alive and to feed my spirit. I don't even think about cut-backing nor flying in a 360 !

Kai is an all round water man, just like the older generations of Hawaiians before him. All the footage you see of big wave riding, Kai seems the most fluid surfer. Its like he's riding a 4ft wave and carving no a 50fter.
