Турки не имеют право диктовать нам, носителям английского языка, какие слова нам можно или нельзя употреблять на своем родном языке. А они тоже заставляют носителей других языков называть их 'Türkiye' вместо Турции, Türkei, la Turquie, Turchia, Turquía или تركيا ? Конечно нет.
Я буду говорить 'Türkiye' когда, говорящие между собой по-турецки, сами Турки перестанут называть мою страну 'Birleşik Krallık' и в будущем будут говорить например 'İunaited Kingdım'. Простите, но просто бесит. Обидно.
Это наш язык а не какой-то искусственный язык как Эсперанто, который никому конкретно не принадлежит.
@@blotski Türkiye is the country’s name that has been used by the Turks for more than a century.
The Turkish government has simply requested that that the rest of the world use a name of Turkish origin rather than an anglicized exonym.
This change was approved by the United Nations in June 2022.
The British embassy in Ankara uses the name Türkiye as does the government of the United States.
Of course, you are free to call the country whatever name you wish. Whether anybody will understand you is another matter.
