Ascent Builds - Intrepid Mini Velo - Shimano Metrea

A unique all-road mini velo, with a twist. Eschewing the typical flat or drop bars, this build has the rare Shimano Metrea groupset and bullhorn bars.
We searched the world for the right parts - Metrea shifters from the USA, the proprietary Shimano bullhorn bars from Germany. Even if we wanted to, it would be almost impossible to make another just like it.

You should be able to find them, but the bullhorn bars for Metrea are the issue. Can't find them anywhere anymore.

Interesting bike! Do you know why the decision was made for the R7000 crankset instead of the Metrea crankset? Do you sell frameset only to USA?

The R7000 crankset was available at that time. It was hard enough finding the shifters and handlebar because the groupset had been discontinued. Yes, we sell the framesets and ship to the US. Please contact us on our website for more information.

Hello! I think they're out of stock - have been discontinued. You may find some shops selling them on clearance. The bigger issue is the bullhorn bar - it requires bullhorns with 30mm diameter instead of the standard 24. As far as I know, only Shimano makes them, and they have been discontinued as well.

Sorry man, can't buy it anymore - the Metrea-specific handlebars are out of production and nearly impossible to find.

Sorry, we cannot build this anymore, as the Metrea has been discontinued. However, a Flat Bar Intrepid is about 2269 Singapore Dollars (as of the time of this comment)
