I haven't had much time to fish this Summer so it was nice to get out for a quick 1/2 day! Great weather with the typical Summer style fishing! It was great fishing with you again, David! John of Boilingtuna.com clamps was also on this trip! His buddy, Dat, came along and really put the wood to the fish starting from inside the harbor! Hope everyone enjoy the video and stay safe!
@@jigslingersfishingchannel3713 Awesome!!! Love the vids!!! I recently picked up my first conventional a fathom 25 2 speed??? Any recommendations on what rod I should pair it with???? Keep the great vids coming
It’s all personal preference. Try both out, see which you like better! Personally I’d recommend using the mono for stiffer rods as the stretchy mono makes landing the fish easier on yourself, as well as with the surface irons for the same reason. Straight braid to a short flouro leader won’t provide the same stretch but when fishing thick kelp the short leader makes cutting through it much easier
I love that boat got to take out my homie in his first ever trip and it was wide open calicos amazing boat and crew put us on some really good calico fishing💯
always nice to go out fishing in summer. Congrats on all those bass. They r always fun to catch. Wish I could be out there. Unfortunately, I didnt fish at all this summer cuz of covid and the water really never warmed up correctly. Great stuff right there. A summer yellowtail always nice. Seems like a nice time you had there. Your vids always lower my urge to go fishing because Im watching you fish!! Amazing vid.
Alex Gonzalez haha great point! I’m assuming you meant the long jigstick. It’s for casting surface iron. Calicos are a blast to get on the long stick. Not so much for the fight. Just the strike. There are yellows around too so I don’t leave home without a jigstick. 🤙
There too good though. Does the hate come from the fact he poached? Or is it because they're $10 for what people assume are just a tube. Try them man they have a cool fall and they get bit better than anything.

@@SolanaRailfanner I have the same reel paired with a Seeker 80H. Great for 40lb. 👍
I’m getting ready to spool a avet mxj mc for surface iron would you recommend a mono top shot or just braided line all the way to the top
You can go either way. I do braid with a short mono leader for surface iron.

Damn that hook up bait is automatic! Ive had the same luck. Love slinging the 1oz mint by the bait barge for legal sandys and halis all day long
Would love to see how you store tackle when you go on trips! Keep up the great videos
thunderstorm399 I keep it simple. Couple of plastic boxes in a backpack. 👍
Jigslinger's Fishing Channel thank you for the reply! Tight lines.
Yo I’m looking for a new surface iron rod. I’m on a budget. Looking for a 9 footer deckhand style. Anyone got any suggestions?
Check out the Phenix Axis 909hj. You should be able to get a new one for about 200.
@@jigslingersfishingchannel3713 sweet! Thanks

Any half day yellow is a bonus, enjoyed the video bro.
cdn3542 Absolutely! 🤙🤙🤙
Nice vid I have a question that I think you are qualified to answer local jigstick seeker alua vs u c reaper? Or what is your recomendation
John Whiting Both are great! I’m partial to Seeker so Ulua for me.
Yeah I got the baby
But alua I the white tiger I’m kinda stoked to get it should be done next week
How many surface iron rods you take on a full day?
Usually just 1. Sometimes 2 if I know I’ll be throwing different size jigs and too lazy to retie.
Not trying to hate but why the extra heavy gear for calico that's no fun might ass we'll catch mackerel from the pier lol

Nice yellow for your buddy. Inshore black Diamond rod?
Anotherflores91 I think it was a Swimbait m1
Lots of too heavy tackle for those dinks
Salam fishing indonesia.👍👍
when is the next multi day trip
Not sure about doing that this season.
Love your videos! I noticed that right before you cast, you dip your bait in the water. Is that intentional. If so, for what purpose? Thanks!
Mark Puranaputra Great observation! It’s just a habit. I feel like the bait is struggling for water so I let it take a dip before sending it out. Haha
What did he catch that yellow with? Thx
SoCal-FISHING-760 Little plastic. Can see it hanging from the fish when it was gaffed.
Hope it's not peanut
Are you required to wear a mask on the vessel?
Bret Archibald Yes sir
@@jigslingersfishingchannel3713 pfffft!
What rod did he get that yellow on?
J T I think it was a Phenix Swimbait
Looks a fun day.
What were you using as baits?
sardines, hookup baits, plastics
Is there a live bait rod under $200 that you recommend? I beginning to get into tuna fishing
Dub 7 For 20lb-30lb bait setups can’t beat a Calstar 800l or Phenix Axis 802ml. You can find them for 200 or less.
Yesss new video😎😎

POACHERBAITS
Andrew Rollins Chad gierlich knowingly killed a deer in yosemite and said it was a “mistake”
