All the tuna biting this week prompted me and my buddies to play hooky and jumped on a mid week Liberty trip! Capt. Taro and the crew did not disappoint! We drifted on our first school around 9am that lasted 5 hours! Limits for many of the nice grade yellowfin tuna! So many great fisherman on this trip! Great meeting and chatting with all of you! Enjoy!
The thing I appreciate most about this video is the clear demarcation between an experienced angler(ourself)and those who are clueless and refuse to be taught. The observant will notice it took just seconds for you to pin a bait and put in the strike zone on a tight line. Technique worthy of imitation!
Boats like the Liberty & the San Diego are way too crowded. Once you do a multi-day trip with a limited load, you will not want to bother with the crowds. Of course the cost is much more but way worth it. My wife will not fish on crowded boats anymore.
Another great video, I like the trini and axis combo, looked fun catching that size tuna. Still trying to get on a boat that gets hot, haven't seen action like that.
Nice video man! I went out on the Liberty a few weeks back but I was having trouble casting my bait and once it was out there it swam under the boat. Do you have any advice?
Fishing With Lucas Some baits would bee line under the boat as soon as it touch water. Get a new one right away. Which side were you fishing on? If you’re on the drift side (wind in your face) it’ll help get the baits away. But there are times when the bite is better on the downwind side (wind in your back). This trip was like that. But you’ll have to be a good caster to fish it. A hot bait cast out was an instant bite. You’ll also have to change baits more often because if it’s not picked up right away it usually ends up under the boat being on the wrong side of the drift. Good luck! 👍
Getting Bent With Bo Man it has actually been a bad offshore season for me. A lot of busted trips lol. Finally got lucky on this one. My next scheduled trip is a Freezer Special in December on the New Hustler out of Hooks Landing. Lmk if you’re interested and I’ll hit up the chartermaster to get you on the list. 👍

Another great video!
Hi, what gear do you need go on board the LIBERTY vessel ? I'm planning to go too but no experience at all. Thank
Dan2 SoY Something in the 20-30 range to flyline a bait. And a 2nd rig in the 40lb range. Should cover what’s going right now.
big fish on a trinidad 12! how heavy of a leader were you using ?
Always Nguyening Fishing 20lb 👍
I gotta make a trip on the liberty with you next season.
Jeff Yoemans Definitely! 🤙🤙🤙
@@jigslingersfishingchannel3713 I'm down to go if yellowtail are biting also, doesn't have to be tunas.
What rod was your spinning buddy using? It looked like it had some pulling power. Some of the other spinning rods looked like noodles.
Anotherflores91 It’s some high end East Coast brand. Crazy expensive stuffs.

Bag #5 was the fullest one. Nice video man!
Anthony M Yeah baby! 🤙🤙🤙
Had a bad experience on the liberty. Went out and nobody didn't caught anything.
Matthew_Aviation Yeah it’s fishing. Can’t control when they want to bite unfortunately.

riccy khalecc Damn that’s a heck of a first trip! Congrats! 🤙
nice trip
Some quality fish there. Count was great too lol
Love the liberty! But sometimes I'd pay the extra $60 for an overnight with less people. Still my favorite full day boat though!
Justin Ballew Yeah definitely! We decided to go at the last minute so couldn’t jump on an overnight.

Now that’s a trip. Play hooky fishing. That’s the way to do it. If only you had the boat to yourself.

Anthony Noy Nice! We were lucky on that trip! 👍
U have good Kung Fu.
bert killackey 💪
Jungle fishing better off going to Costco 6 cans for $8
n6yun Everyone is entitled to their opinions
30 minutes in the check out line for 6 cans of tuna? I’d rather jungle fish any day.
n6yun more than likely eating blended Bonita & albacore lol
VIDEOS WAY TO LONG PLEASE EDIT OUT ALL THE REELING WOULD BE A MUCH BETTER VIDEO
